British dub or American dub for XBC2, Sup Forums?
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 dub
Other urls found in this thread:
British, it's not even a question worth asking.
Just wanna collect as many votes as possible and then send the results to NoE and NoA.
Wait, that's the new Xenoblade?
Damn. I know they have always been shit at art-styles but fuck. That just looks like a bad budget jrpg you would find on steam for 10 bucks.
I saw your mum on Steam for 10 bucks.
There's a reason people call it Tales of Xenoblade Federation Force
Nobody calls it that but you, dedicated shitposter
Here's hoping for dual audio like xenoblade 1 had and unlike chronicles x.
Yeah hopefully they fix his face up a bit, Shulk looked weird as fuck too in the first trailer.
Britbong dub obviously. A lot of anime voice actors just aren't that amazing I guess. Hell even if it wasn't a Bong dub but we got stage actors I'd be totally okay with that -- FFXII's dub for instance was pretty good.
There are about 150 people maximum on Sup Forums who would vote on that poll. That's nowhere near a large enough sample size for them to consider. And strawpoll can be easily rigged.
Although seeing how it's called Xenoblade Chronicles 2, that implies that it's a sequel to the original (or it at least takes place in the same universe). So they'd be incredible stupid to not let NoE handle the localisation again this time.
You guys do realise that this new protag is gonna be in Smash, right?
Hope with Xenoblade X getting a bit of a mediocre reception they won't go full in of having long and outdrawn cut scenes every 3 steps like most jrpgs.
But Xenoblade Chronicles had more.
Xenoblade Chronicles was fucking MADE popular by the British dub.
Xenoblade Chronicles X just felt like generic boring anime shit.
Xenoblade X barely had any proper cutscenes though what are you on with? Xenoblade X's issue was those free-camera cutscenes where you'd never see a character's expressions.
>another boy you can put in tight underwear to wrestle with Bowser
Neat.
I know. Which is what worries me.
They went a step in the right direction with X but while it didn't exactly pan out that great, it's still a nice direction and I hope they don't abandon it in favor of doubling down of the cut scenes in response to people not liking the story and stuff.
See above.
>You guys do realise that Monadofu is gonna be in Smash, right?
ftfy
>her thing is turning into a sword
>match begins
>she turns into a sword
>she lies on the ground until someone tosses her off a ledge
Well apples and oranges I guess but I disliked how X got rid of all the cutscenes and story telling that the first game had. I mean the first game was hardly a Metal Gear game so as long as XB2 delivers the same quality as XB all should be well.
One is a sword and the other her wielder. ¿Por que no los dos?
>Filename
Shit, meant to delete that. Inb4 u know who.
They already confirmed it will have an EU dub because people hate NoA so much right now.
>They already confirmed it will have an EU dub
But they didn't famalam. There's just a lot of things that point toward an NoE localisation.
>playing dubbed at all
>calling it Chronicles
shiggy diggy doo
>>playing dubbed at all
>implying Xenoblade's Bong VA wasn't great
>liking Britbong
The reason why I dropped FF12 as well
>So they'd be incredible stupid to not let NoE handle the localisation again this time.
Agreed, but that isn't consolation.
>There's just a lot of things that point toward an NoE localisation.
I keep hearing this, but all the proof that's been found so far seems weak to me.
Jap
FFXII had Burgers too. Still if you didn't like it then that's cool my man.
>seems weak to me.
And it is because there's always the chance some other American VA will be localising the game... or Treehouse themselves will be responsible for everything, which, is the worst case scenario. Still there's something there and that'll do for now.
I haven't played the first one because the dub is so horrendous. Fuck British accents, you guys sound like cartoon characters.
>GRIFFITH! REEEEEEEEEEEE

> "Skip cutscene?"
> "Yes"
> long and outdrawn
...?
...
Has there been other games that nailed it with British VA? So far I've only seen this game.
All I know about this game is someone told me a sword turns into a girl and I stopped caring.
Anime trash.
Witcher 3, Dark Souls/Bloodborne

why do people like the british VA?
I'm British myself, and I thought it sounded horrible - way too over-the-top to the point of being comedic
Japanese
There's obviously plenty of reason for them to bring back the Brit dub. The real question is why might they not? What casts all this into doubt? Is there some kind of risk taken, cost paid or extra effort put forth if they do?
I want to call attention to something. Pic related is the official description for the 3DS port on Amazon, as well as a few other sites if I remember correctly. Note the highlighted section. Assuming the description was supplied by Nintendo, it looks like at least somebody at NOA is aware enough of the love for the Brit dub to use it for advertising.
Pretty sure most people liked it because it was comedic. People say it added "flavor" to the dialogue but I think it just sounded like shit.
You're a cunt with shit ears.
Give a british dub, X was boring as fuck and american VAs are having some kind of strike anyhow.
I liked it because the voice actors are all charismatic and convey emotion in a believable way. The only comedic parts are some of the battle shouts and Riki's arc.
Did you ever play the game?
no, I just agree with this guy I'm not even a weeb but I found myself switching to the jap voices since the british ones got so grating with those corny one-liners being spouted constantly. If I hear WHATTA BUNCHA JOKERS one more time I swear.
They don't even sound like genuine british accents for the most part, either - like they were actively trying to exaggerate the fuck out of them to make a mockery of themselves.
The only cockney accents in the game come from Reyn and Xord. Are you a delinquent?
The rest is middle class, neutral British accents.
All the actors are British, so I don't really get your "they're exaggerated" argument. Reyn actually speaks like he does as Reyn in real life.
>the contrarian allegedly bong shitposter/s return
Well this is nostalgic.
Fiora and Melia definitely do not have "neutral" accents. I think the only characters that sound fine are Shulk and Dunban, the rest are grating to hear.
Ok you're really weird. Get away from me.
Freeeaaaaaaaaaak
I think anyone that's actually british can hear just how odd the VA sounded, whilst americans just hear it and think it sounds jovial and a bit posh, since they're not familiar with how british people (and, ergo, good british VA) typically sound. Every other british person I've spoken to has agreed the voices sound horrible.
Talking to yourself is a bad sign user.
Yes! More! This ancient bait is so delicious!
You're so wrong. I know many who absolutely love the British voice acting. Fuck off, you mediocre human being.
>I am not allowed to have opinions.
French here, we fucking hate dubs in our games. The reason I went over the prologue as because I heard Norio Wakmoto.
Also Dunban's VA (who does Vegeta) is fucking god tier.
I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that anyone on this earth can listen to Reyn and think that's great voice acting. It's absolutely horrendous.
Dunban is pretty good though, and Shulk is generally fine (his VA isn't particularly good in dramatic scenes, however, as his voice is a little bit monotone making it sound like he's almost being sarcastic)
compatriote
>French
>Shits on the English dub while simultaneously praising the JP dub.
Says it all. Report and ignore.
I bet you feel so legitimate playing the game in Japanese.
This has got to be bait. Seriously.
I'm not falling for it. Sorry, user.
Daily reminder any game that is manned by a British voice company is quality
Luke in Professor Layton in the American version is fucking awful
Ape escape 3
I'm completely serious, I really do not understand how anyone could ike Reyn's voice acting, it sounds so bad to me. Melia, Sharla, and Fiora's VA work really mediocre (especially Sharla, who sounds like she doesn't care at all). Dunban is the only really good VA in there, though Shulk's VA isn't too far behind. Reyn's is so bad that he's become little more than a complete joke in these threads.
I thank Shakespeare.
Thanks Shakespeare.
...
I like to play my games with the intended vision.
Takahashi intended Riki to have a cute voice, not this cringy forced mess.
Wanker.
yeah, figures as much that meming faggots are fans of the meme character
Takahashi also hired Sawano. He's not perfect, user. The JP dub is tropey as fuck. The Brit made the characters feel less tropey.
Everyone makes mistakes. I'm sure he regretted not telling him to fuck off with some of the stuff he pulled.
>Bong winning 141 to 20
I love how your opinion is only shared by about 2% of the Xenoblade fanbase.
How does it feel to be wrong, user?
what is popular is not always right, as not is right is not always popular.
Now, now. BEHAVE!
Suprised American even has that much.
I only liked the British dub because of how rediculous it was. I think britbongs think it's because I like their voices, which isn't true. I just like how funny they sound when they try to sound serious.
>NoE localizes XC2
>british spelling and words
Eat your press-ups, Apollo.
Fuck off you cunt
Atleast us Brits don't breathe excessively all over the bloody mic like American anime VAs seem to love to do. Especially that dickhead Matt Mercer and all the other 4kids voice actors you hear in every single RPG
I can't go back and watch the monado beginning of the world trailer
Fiora gives my eyes cancer
calm down, muhammad
i was complementing you. I enjoying hearing your inbred voices. It amuses me
Eat your colours, Apollo.
That's because it's God's English.
*Allah
I don't care that much about the dubbing to the point of demanding x voices or z voices but it is worrying that people just want this and that because the first game had it. Feels like they really wanted to recreate the original Xenoblade right down to enemies, setting, concepts and dubbing. Meanwhile I'd rather each Xeno game stand it's own ground rather than try recreate past successes.
