Empty world confirmed.

>I haven't seen any gameplay: the post

What gameplay?

It looks empty in the treehouse streams

100 mini dungeons ("shrines"); 4 massive mechanical beats/dungeons to slay (it's unknown how many dungeons there will be in total, however); friendly NPCs with AI, likely to team up with the player; tamable horses and wolves; bokoblin outputs; guardians roaming the land; bombable secrets; villages and other settlements; etc.

Cool but you can't have a world that large without sacrificing content distribution

>friendly NPCs with AI, likely to team up with the player
This is the same dreamy made-up bullshit that people who hyped up No Man's Sky came up with. Just be realistic. You're not going to have your epic spaceship battles. You're not going to be able to build a base and join multiplayer factions and fight in space wars. Your NPCs are probably just going to be there to talk at you and to get quests from. If you keep your expectations in check, you will enjoy the game more.

who cares

look at wind waker. the game was fantastic

nintendo always gets it right. every time. theyre why i still play video games at all.

>nintendo always gets it right

ya it just takes 6 years

eh, maybe. It's a little hard to judge since only the "great plateau" (smaller [relatively speaking] starting area near the centre) and some small snippets outside of it have been shown off thus-far. At any rate, it can't be emptier than TP was, especially since Aonuma is well aware of said criticism of TP. The shrines, towers, and enemy bases seem well spread throughout the world, at least from what's been seen; plus, there's menial tasks the player can do between those - like scavenging for gear/secrets, hunting, etc.

>Your NPCs are probably just going to be there to talk at you and to get quests from.
This is in-game footage:

(see around 17:30 for NPCs fighting bokoblins)

>nintendo always gets it right. every time. theyre why i still play video games at all.

Holy shit, here's your 30 shekels, already. You don't need to Correct the Record anymore, it's already done.

>all that empty space
>drones actually think it's going to be FULL of content
Can't wait for the buttmad on release

I think the desire for bigger and bigger world maps has waned. I really didnt like how empty the witcher 3's map felt even though the landscape was diverse and interesting to look at. I just don't have fun walking around a world unless there are things to find and do.
I honestly cant imagine a world as big as BOTW not being empty, or filled with the meaningless filler "quests" that are just the same thing over and over again in different places that almost all open world games suffer from now.

Gameplay videos look fun though so I am cautiously optimistic.

keep crying nigger

holy shit youre sad

Most likely the amount of content will be akin to any other game like skyrim for example. but that doesnt mean that the "empty" spaces wont have traveling monsters and potential random encounters/loot. Im looking forwards to actually traveling through and exploring a world again like in windwaker.

there's drones for every game that think it'll be the second coming of christ.

I liked xenoblade x's world, even though it was objectively empty from an interactive standpoint, it was fun to explore alone since it had plenty of hidden areas in it to find (and you were rewarded for doing so), as well as unique creatures in many of said hidden areas. Keep in mind the developers of XCX are working on Breath of the Wild, as that's where most of my hype personally comes from - a vast world built for exploration with zelda mechanics and gameplay is a really promising mix.

Kek! Breath of the Wild release is LITERALLY going to be the same as No Man's Sky release.

I can't fucking wait.

The world has to be huge to actually feel like a world. I wouldn't mind if it were the size of Germany if it had enough content to justify it.

nitenndo only makes good games though.

thats why everyone copies them

am i dreaming? why is Sup Forums nothing but paid agitators now?

I can't tell if this is ironic or not, sadly.

>nintendo always gets it right. every time. theyre why i still play video games at all.

I mean disregarding the weak system specs, overpriced peripherals, and poor launch line up, yeah I guess it's pretty bang on.

>nintendo only makes good games
have another kot, my friend

I dont know but they're posting the same content repeating innacurate information and just straight up pushing their agenda of defacing nintendo. I have been watching this board for a while and i legitimately think these are 100% paid shills for sony, which wouldnt be too far of a reach since sony is such a shitty dying company now.

id prefer it take 6 years and i get a game i want

then it take 2

they charge full price

and its just walking round whacky colored spheres and mining

>a Sony shill
>shitting on No Man's Sky

Yeah seems plausible.

nobody on earth can defend no man's sky, user. Even the lead dev said it was a mistake.

beating your own dead horse so they dont take your farm. yeah its very possible

Do you want to climb a signpost and collect a dildo every 2 meter like in Ubisoft clusterfuck games?

what am i reading

>wind waker
>character grows up on an ocean island
>drowns after 15 seconds of swimming

I went into more depth about this here This trolling isn't even remotely believable. I believe these people are here to disturb, first and foremost. They want to make Sup Forums not fun.

Am I the only one who fantasizes about capping Nintendo bashers in the back of the fucking head?

>enough content
You don't need more content, just a fast enough speed so you could cross Germany in a reasonable amount of time.

>nu/v/ hates Zelda now

Honestly is there no end to Sup Forums's shit taste? I get the feeling people here spend more time shit talking games than playing them.

I fantasize about killing them, but it's not going to change anything. We need to actually convince them that our view is correct.

Sup Forums loves Zelda. Most of the bashing is trolling or irony.

>game was delayed a whole fucking year and a half after already showing the final map at E3 2015
>it's going to be empty tho

>nu/v/ hates Zelda now
>now

>hates zelda

I bet when the game comes out there'll be nonstop threads all over the front page.

Shitposters are always the most vocal before a game comes out, Bloodbourne, TW3 both went through it.

only in your autistic mind

GEE KINDA LIKE HOW THERE ARE COUNTLESS THREAD ABOUT THE FUCKING SWITCH?

AND HOW EVERYONE ON Sup Forums ADMITS THEY'RE GOING TO BUY A FUCKING SWITCH DESPITE THEIR ENDLESS SHITPOSTING?

META-IRONIC FAGGOTS.

Where are people getting these bullshit map sizes from? I'm dead serious

And look at this shit.
>I mean disregarding the weak system specs
I see this EVERYWHERE. What the fuck is a spec? What does it have to do with games? Approximately how many 'specs' does it take before a game is 'good'?

Make no mistake, every machine these days is sophisticated enough to play games- and EVERYONE KNOWS THIS.

This trolling is not only annoying, littering the board, and making intelligent discourse (memes) impossible, but it's not even close to being accepted as truth. Nor will it ever be.

Where's the source on the 4 mechanical monsters?

>a movie doesn't have to look good, it just needs a good story!

This. There is no way wind waker is that small.

reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/5olf6h/oc_i_fixed_my_zelda_map_size_comparison_graphic/

What the fuck are you talking about? Another clear example of what I mean. I wrote a post, and I'm met with sheer fucking nonsense I can't even discern.

What do you mean? Is that a metaphor?

I really hope this is a copypasta.

Are you retarded? I'm dead serious.

Wind Waker doesn't have a traditional size. It loads while you're sailing, so your sense of distance is sometimes only vaguely aligned with how fast you're going.

Oh ok so it's just bullshit
Good to know

>estimates

Yeah fuck off, seems like people are just seeing BIGGER THAN SKYRIM, and then instantly thinking it's legit and spreading it around everywhere

I hate to link fan theory fags, but this really is the best video on that topic (most concise info):
youtube.com/watch?v=taGJ7cdKN1o

No. You came into a Zelda thread to troll because you're a paid agitator. And you post complete bullshit like you're working your way down a list- attempting to rope people into a "spec" or "graphhixx" argument.

You're fucking pathetic. Every inch of you is a sour disgusting disappointment. You are an utter nigger.

Why are we comparing to Skyrim when Oblivion was bigger

The Great Sea was easily one of the worst aspects of Wind Waker right next to its non-existent difficulty and lack of good dungeons.

how?

What is there actually to do in this game? Every video is people walking around with insane pop-in for trees/bushes. The pop-in reminds me of the early problems with GTA V on 360 and PS3. There's hardly any enemies at all, and all the ones I've seen have been straight ripped out of windwaker, with one enemy coming at you and the other one conveniently waiting for its turn to telegraph an insanely easy attack. It looks like a open world game from 2010. Everyone's hype is predicated on "what might be" when every indication is this is exactly like every other open world game, where bigger just means you have to walk longer to get wherever you need to go, without there being any actual benefit to it being larger

Friendly Reminder: Map size doesn't matter if they're jack shit to do in it.

Daggerfall is 100x the size of Skyrim and nobody gives a shit.

Why is the Great Sea bad? Amuse me. Fucking nigger. You won't do it.

GAMES THAT DID OPEN WORLD RIGHT, I.E. SMALL-MEDIUM MAPS WITH CONTENT SPREAD OUT WELL

Ocarina of Time
Skyrim
Twilight Princess
Witcher 3

GAMES THAT DID OPEN WORLD WRONG, I.E. HUGE MAP WITH CONTENT SCATTERED OR THINLY SPREAD

Wind Waker
MGSV
No Man's Sky
probably breath of the wild

Reminder that BotW still has:
>Shitty or no music
>Ugly ass color filters from 2004 covering up the actually otherwise decent looking game
>Five(FIVE)[5){V} dungeons
>Shitty gear grind over traditional progression model
It's going to be another near miss at best, garbage most likely. Wake me up when the new Zelda game can at least live up to LttP with music and dungeon variety.

Look at the weather worn map from the Collectors Edition. They cut stuff from the sides.

Daggerfall is different because it's randomly generated, Oblivion wasn't

I hope they will just stand there and give me quests. I'm not playing a Zelda game to build a fucking team

>No Man's Sky.
No lol, it's just another Marvelous game with a Zelda skin.

Why do you think they delayed it by two whole years?

>Empty

Why is this a bad thing? I'd rather have a huge empty world than a small cramped one.

Dude if you think this game has anywhere close to the amount of content Skyrim has you need to drown yourself before the game comes out because you are going to be very dissapointed. There's a reason they are releasing Skyrim so much later than BOTW despite it being a 6 year old game, they don't want to get outshined

>Build Wall
>not ''The Wall''
I'm not even a JoJo fag, but even I know what stands are named after.

>shitty or no music
sure bud

>twilight princess
I liked the game but it was not open world.

>kilometers

Fucking cuckold europe shit

keep sucking mohammeds dick lmao
MAGA

>shitty or no music

I feel baited but I can't stop

This guy gets it.

Swiss army knife gameplay and that special feeling.

it just wasted time

there is literally no reason to spread the islands out as much as they did

What's wasted about it?

That and almost all of the non-story islands were nothing more than a single puzzle that gave you rupees.

I know this is bait, but

>no music
There is music, you just aren't paying attention. And even when there isn't music, it's a nice break. You don't need the fucking Hyrule overworld theme blasting the whole time you're playing.

>Shitty music
You're retarded.

not same guy but from my memory it was just aiming at where you wanted to go and then go make a cup of tea while waiting to arrive there

The sea was a waste of time and didn't add anything than it taking time to get between places

>star fox zero
>Toad tracker
>yoshis baby world
>Kirbys baby world
>Wii music
>the last 4 Mario party games
>3D world compared to its predecessors
>sticker star and color splash
>Metroid Federation Force

Nigger Nintendo hasn't made a good game in several years

If it takes 10 minutes to get where you want instead of 2 minutes, that's 8 minutes wasted because the dev wanted to make a map big for the sake of the map being big (to the detriment of the player, at that), and not to fit more content.

That's literally what you do in BOTW though lol

>100 mini dungeons
so it's going to be the Skyrim problem then

>streams show Link doing a bunch of shit

>so, uh like, what do you even do in this game?

Why do people do this? Honestly it feels like Sup Forums spends more time shit talking games than playing them.

It was delayed to release at the same time as the switch. The game has been done for a while, but keep slurping that Japanese corporate cock.

Skyrim has no content

They also worked on Skyward Sword, and The Sky in that game manages to be even emptier than the Great Sea in Wind Waker.

You're missing out on the game if you just let it run, that's not the games fault, its yours.

You skipped the floating barrel course. You passed up outposts. You didn't stop to fight. (It's actually difficult being alone at sea at night, and taking on a hoard. I bet you've never done that)

>these are 100% paid shills for sony, which wouldnt be too far of a reach since sony is such a shitty dying company now.

>>Quick our company is circling the drain and we're about to go bankrupt what do we do?
>>We have to spend our remaining money on shitposts.

user the fact that they're "a shitty dying company" makes that even more far of a reach

>Splatoon
>not a good game

OUT.

People are so used to linearity and being told what to do in games, they can't comprehend it when a game give you a world to just go wild in and make your own fun.

Remember when people were calling Pokemon Sun and Moon Nintendo's next NMS and they turned out to be the best 3DS games to have ever existed?
Yeah

Those were all pointless though.
Barrel course was a pointless minigame

And most of these occasions were rare. They could've just made an interesting overworld instead of just wasting your time.

>You skipped the floating barrel course. You passed up outposts. You didn't stop to fight.
All of those could still have been present in the game without them making the map so large it's literally driving players to leave the room and make tea.

Nintendo didn't make Splatoon

Every time I see a shill post, the EXACT opposite is true.

-That list of games is probably the only ones worth playing over the same time period.

-Sony is literally the company going backrupt.

Every time. All out lies. Such impossible deception that the opposite of their words is true.

Except the shrines will actually have somewhat engaging puzzles and enemies, instead of Skyrim's garbage dungeons.
