Zelda BOTW Wii U

The Wii U version will be good, right? I don't wanna buy a Switch yet.

It's exactly the same fucking game and anyone who tells you differently is shitposting.

>720p vs 900p, not even full 1080p either way

Who even gives a shit. It runs at the same framerate on both versions and the foggy filter over footage is clearly an intentional aspect of the game's design since it's still there in the Switch version

I suspect the Wii U version will suffer from some framedrops, and it's been confirmed that it'll have less "natural" audio (whatever that means exactly). Otherwise, it's the exact same game.

Well look how Twilight Princess on Gamecube vs Wii turned out.

Switch version definitely has less fog over distances; the fog for cloudy weather is really over-the-top for both versions, though. The Switch, version unusually seems to look like shit indoors (particularly in the starting area), but is otherwise generally clearer within the world - able to render details in the distance better.

Yeah, but the Wii U version has twice as long load times
I think it meant the wii u version won't have bird chirping or footsteps on water and such things, you get what i mean?

>I suspect the Wii U version will suffer from some framedrops
This is whats bothering me. This shit better not be constantly dropping.

>I think it meant the wii u version won't have bird chirping or footsteps on water
possibly; seems an odd change to make, but I guess they did it to make the switch version more appealing?

It seems to drip dramatically when an explosion is set off (something the Switch manages with no drops at all); outside of that, though, I simply don't know.

Reggie said there's pop in in the Wii U.

I just hope there isn't some bullshit motion controller gimmick that I might not of heard about. I just want to play this with my Pro controller.

Two times a couple seconds is just a couple seconds more.

Wii U takes 30 seconds to load a new area
Switch takes 13
Pick your poison

What's the chance they're be a larger data install option like they did for Xenoblade X?

there's pop-in on the switch version, though not nearly as much (probably because the switch version is on a cartridge - meaning faster load times)

>having wii-u

Even 13 seconds is incredibly stupid for loading an area, so either way I am already not impressed if that is the case.

Source?

>it'll have less "natural" audio
Probably didn't have enough space in memory for ambient sound effects.

depends what he means by "new area"; as, as far as I could tell, there are no load screens in the overworld?

The fact that it even runs on the wiiu speaks volumes about the capabilities of the switch

it's originally a wii u game, that got ported to the switch.

not sure if that's better

Even 15 seconds is pretty okay, but more than that just pisses me off
Those extra 15 seconds will add up exponentially as the game progresses, and believe me that's some precious time you do not wanna be wasting

Wii U version is $300 cheaper.

well don't die then?

I bet Wii U will "feel" better, just because of the bottom screen interaction with shit. Like WW's inventory or always having the map displayed and shit.

>it's only for dying screen

oh so nothing then lol

>dying in a Zelda game

it also requires a 3gb install. as far as i know, this is the only game on wii u that requires an install, not even Xenoblade Chronicles X did, it was optional for that game.

Lower res and slightly more unsteady framerate, otherwise itll be a good experience. Keep in kind all the wii u footage we have is 7 months old, probably more optimized by now, and the palette should be closer to the switch.

an install pack like they did for XCX would probably help with loading times tho
