Pretty much every game with a good twist. That's kind of how you do that sort of story unless you pull an M. Night and make the whole point of the game "I tricked you!"

...

Dragons Dogma

Kinda defeats the purpose if you look for games using this criteria. You'll never get the effect of the surprise this way, moron.

You're implying I made this thread to learn about games that do this that I didn't already know about, and not as an excuse to post Okage and discuss other games with big twists.

I don't see how. It starts with fighting giant dragons and monsters and shit and by the end that's basically what you're doing for the rest of the game.

Sure at the very absolute end it goes into JPRG "AND THEY YOU FIGHT GODSAMA" but that's not super left field.

Pretty much. It's even worse when it comes to spoiler threads.
Everyone in those threads either:
A. straight up tell/show you what happens
or
B. use spoiler tags, but don't bother mentioning the name of the game

Are you dense?
What happens when someone brings up a spoiler from a game you haven't played yet?

Some people don't care about spoilers, user.

>Most people on Sup Forums don't care about spoilers
Fix'd. Sup Forums is normalfag central now, remember?

Little Inferno maybe? Though that game is creepy from the start

>Not letting "omg this games has a TWEEEEST" ruin a game for you makes you a normalfag now.
Christ, you sissies.

Bloodborne

That's just a normal twist, nothing big changes besides the direction of the plot. The aurum would be a better example, bar the fact that it's only 2 missions.

What's the tweest for Okage OP? I played half through the game then lost my save file and I didn't enjoy actually playing the game I just liked the characters I never could muster the urge to go back to it.

You're not the bad guys, for starters. The world is being locked down under the boot of a supernatural caste system, beyond that. And your being overshadowed isn't because you're just lame.

There's an entire section of the game where no one will acknowledge your existence.

Oh, that's pretty cool. Thanks OP.

That doesn't really change the tone of the game since you were fighting the Underworld anyway.

That Ring chapter on the other hand. That's when everything gets weird.

Really, Kid Icarus had a bizarro tweest like every 2-3 chapters.

You have a point, but in any game the twist I will appreciate the most is "it turns out you're only 30% done"

What was the twist? use spoiler tags to protect other anons. I played a bit of this game ages ago and liked it but don't have much interest in playing it again

Resident Evil 0

The sudden swerve from this goofy, kooky off-kilter comedy to a story about how the world is defined by the perceptions handed down by the people in charge, in the context of a man walling off a section of reality for his daughter.
