I stopped shortly after the wedding and never picked it back up, and multiple times I couldn't get back into this game. Real shame, it was good shit but it feels weird to try to play again after all these years.

Only by Square Enix's ridiculous standards. It had sold 1.26m units at retail by the end of 2012, plus digital sales (including all PC sales) and then the remaster. For a new IP it did fine. Those greedy nips just expect everything to sell 5m copies so that they can buy another schoolgirl to rape and a solid gold house to do it in.

Great. The anti-aliasing setting is super sampling though, so keep it on low (FXAA) or inject SMAA. The Definitive Edition is a little more demanding, but looks a lot better (extra effects, a LOT more life on the streets).

Performance is great but some computer configurations just won't play it, I'd google your specs along with the game title to see if anyone else has an issue. I had this problem and literately couldn't play it until I upgraded my cpu months later. my computer was more than capable of running it before but it would just crash anytime I tried to start the game.

How do you turn off the colored outlines on pc?

This will determine if I reinstall or not.

I played a few of the Yakuza games. They're kinda quirky but very frustrating to play through.

I'm talking about backwards ass shit like having 5 minutes of loading screens for several minute long cutscenes and shit of that nature. Some of the most bizarre design decisions.

I like both series, but they definitely have different appeals. The Yakuza series appeals more to gamers that like Japanese games and most likely have some sort of interest in the country it's self. In a way, it's like Metal Gear Solid, but about M A S C U L I N E men that rip off their shirts, fight on skyscrapers and cry.

No arguing it was a bad, greedy move.
But I was actually enjoying the beta quite a lot.
The gameplay behind the game is still solid, so having races, get aways, gang hideouts and fighting opportunities aplenty(compared to the rather sprase real game) was a nice way to blow time.

But you could tell how bad the progression was going to be if anyone wanted to limit their spending. Guns and buffs working on a level system but coming in card packs that you only obtain very, very slowly was grueling unless you paid a few times every fucking time you moved up a rank.

Probably good I was able to quit with somewhat pleasant memories. I just miss how easy it was to get into the type of action content you wanted now when I play the original game.

its a once or twice a year game for me, like bloodlines.
easily replayable - once you do the chance in the night market again, you'll be hooked good enough to stick out another playthrough i'm sure, cheevos or not.

the real bummer to me is that last i checked i couldn't find the first person mod someone released years ago anymore because UFG/Square nuked the old forums to put up a Triad Wars forum(why not both?).
it was criminal to release a hong kong game with that level of detail in the cities skyline without first person walking/driving.
