Holy fuck can someone tell me how to make a good Steel Roller Coaster? Shit is ridiculous. Too high speed and I get a shitton of lateral and vertical Gs, so I try to lower the speed but then I don't have enough energy to follow through the loops or upward helixes and it's just a shitshow.
How do I make a good steel coaster?
Eli Hughes
bank your turns nigga
Eli Wood
Just remember the equations for potential and kinetic energy when you plan it out and you can even tell how fast your car will be moving at every point during the ride. Didn't you pay attention in dynamics 1?
Jayden Bennett
You just make a bunch of ferris wheels instead.
Kevin Stewart
Head to /vr/ct general if you want coaster building advice. I am currently too drunk to help. I apologize.
Bank your turns, turn at low speed, etc. Minimize those Gs.
Jackson Parker
Fuck sake, powered launch is a tricky thing, just chain lift that shit.
Lincoln Rodriguez
> you can even tell how fast your car will be moving at every point during the ride
I hate making what I feel like is going to be a sweet fucking ride and then at some point during the test run you disocver that you don't have the speed you need at a point IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING RIDE so you have to delete everything that comes after that point.
I really wish I could transofmr pieces of a ride. Just cut it into two separate pieces; put them one space apart so I could slip in ONE more straight-level piece to connect the two.
Nope, gotta delete the whole thing after your fuck-up point.
David Jackson
you do realize you can click the arrow and move to the middle parts right?
please tell me you're not that fucking retarded
Anthony Baker
Right click on the fucking track piece, you can delete a piece in the middle of the ride so you don't need to delete up to your fuck up.
Jayden Walker
What determines excitement of a ride?
I made some super-high intensity ride with a lot of loops and helixes and it went past a bunch of scenery, but the test run only gave it an excitement rating of 1.4 (intensity was 16.9 though, lmao)
Chase Jenkins
A lot of things. It's complicated. Excitement is actually more like Enjoyment, so if the intensity is too high the excitement gets lowered. 16.9 intensity is retarded high.
Grayson Mitchell
No, you tards.
Imagine you're building the track. You make a complete circuit and test it out. Somewhere through the test it fucks up and your train can't complete the circuit. Say you've got ONE too many steep inclines when you should used one less and replaced it with a normal incline.
But if you replace it with a normal incline, it misaligns with the rest of the track. So you have to fix the next piece, and the piece after, and after that because every fix misaligns with the next piece, so you're forced to redo everything AFTER the first fix.
Thomas Reed
scenery in the first game can only increase excitement by I think .5 an excitement point.
What determines the rest of it is in part making sure to not fuck up your lateral and vertical G's, plus it also helps to imagine yourself riding the ride and think "what would make this ride feel cooler?" Shit like loops and then tracks which go through the loop boost excitement as does underground sections, going over other tracked rides or under other tracked rides.
Jayden Foster
Welcome to RCT. RCT3 fixes that, but kinda fucks up everything else.
Noah Gutierrez
It's actually pretty complicated. Scenery, going close to footpaths, looping in on itself, maintaining high speed, lots of vertical Gs changes (and little horizontal Gs) and things like that.
Camden Edwards
I've never played RCT or RCT2, but I really enjoy RCT3. What's so bad about it? I know you can't go underground or open a ride to launch the coaster off the tracks, but what else?
Grayson Johnson
Try installing a G-Diffuser
Noah Gonzalez
It isn't bad necessarily, it just isn't as good. It's a lot of little things more than any big flaws. I don't feel like writing out a list right now, but I'll point out the fact that RCT1/2 still has an active community 15+ years later, while RCT3 is mostly forgotten.
Ayden Myers
Can't kill guests and the graphics aged like a russian woman
Jayden Russell
Play Planet Coaster
Joshua Russell
Having played RCT3 first, I liked it better than RCT1&2.
but to be fair I'm playing RCT Classic on my phone, so it's not the same experience at on a computer.
