I 100%'d the game a long time ago, but I lost my touch.

Vlambeer needs to revisit and fix some bugs, such as looped enforcers not teleporting yet making sounds from where they should be.

I beat the throne for the first time but unfortunately I was using my NTT exe so I didn't actually get the cheevo or character unlock in my main game. I can consistently get to lil hunter but it's always a toss up if I'll beat him or get raped by a massive swarm of robots.

how do i beat that blue boss that crashes down and explodes. i dont even know what is going on. he just jump packs and tosses rings of bullets? i cant even hit him sometimes.


2) sometimes i teleport to secret areas. what triggers this?

3) sometimes a portal opens up and i can pick a crown? if i beat the game with the crown, i presume i keep the crown? how do i get to more of those rooms.

4) whats the deal of the blue police.

any other help? i have 15 hours and im still a fucking noob

I like Eyes because telekinesis quite useful. Always opt for the Throne Butt mutation when you see it.

I play competitive fighting games online and do pretty good.
I've won 4x1 against decent people on both Age of Empires 2 and Rise of Nations
I've finished Dark Souls 3 with just 5 deaths on my first playthrough

Yet I can't reach the Nuclear Throne.

why is it useful? items come to you slowly, you can just walk there though

In some of the crazier parts it's nice to be able to hide and slowly drag your enemies/items to you.

Eyes is easy mode. New players should really play fish until they can loop consistently to git gud first, though.

Fish is so much fun, especially after upgrading his roll.

1. I'm nowhere near an expert, but my tactic is normally to clear as many enemies around me ass possible then corner lil hunter and buttfuck him ASAP. You can watch for his shadow to see where he's gonna land. When you kill him he flies in circles then blows up so be careful.
2. I assume the secret area you're talking about is the pizza sewer. There's a manhole floor tile that will open a portal to it if you blow it up.
3. In certain levels there are these stone shrine things, damage it enough to open the center of it and kill enemies near it to charge it up. Once it's fully charged, destroy it to get the crown area portal
4. Police show up when you activate a crown shrine thing, they also get called in by lil hunter, and show up in the last few levels just because fuck you. They also hunt you down when you loop or if you're playing as rogue.

Additional tip: fish can roll

If you've been to the Throne even once, now's the time to try and get Plant B.
>On 1-1, open all the chests and break the Rad canister, beat Big Bandit and fly ahead with the Skip, then clear Throne in 10 minutes or less, ignore the side generators and just keep hitting it
When you can do that, you're ready to move onto bigger and better things.

1. find a safe, enclosed space early - hammerhead is a good mutation in that regard. he shoots when you're in his LOS: near and he'll shoot shotgun, far and he'll snipe. if you're out of LOS he'll call reinforcements or fly up and usually try to land on you. look for his shadow before he lands. safest time to attack him is when he's calling reinforcements or right after he lands. look at wiki for other q's, i can't be assed

to clarify, i charge it by shooting it? or killing things near it? how do i know its fully charrged

I play as robot just because I like eating weapons for ammo and health, plus he apparently gets higher tier weapons early. In my first throne kill I got a super rocket launcher in the throne room and killed it in like 10 seconds.

Best mutation(barring strong sprit) is scarier face, just because it helps clear the crystal cave and snow levels way easier. Best weapon is super splinter gun with bolt marrow.

Hit it a few times without killing the enemies near it. When the IDPD show up, that's how you know it'll start taking enemy rad drops. Keep killing enemies near it, and eventually it'll light up and a little green circle will animate inside of it. Now is the time to keep shooting it until it becomes a green portal. Step inside. You are now in the Crown Vault.

shoot it a bunch to open it at which point it will start absorbing rads. after like 50 or something i think it will light up with a green orb, at which point if you destroy it the vault portal appears. it will continue to eat rads before being destroyed even if fully charged

You shoot it to break the center out of it, once you do that it will charge up with rads when enemies are killed near it. It's fully charged when it's glowing and has a green orb in the middle.

It's pretty bad.

If you grab all the chests without killing nearly any mobs on 1-1, you'll fight Big Bandit early. Kill him in less than ten seconds, and you'll be warped to the Oasis level. Survive that, and you'll be warped to 3-3. You're basically skipping a bunch of levels to get a good time, while also being underleveled with shitty weapons. It helps on speedruns, which is the best way to get Plant's B-skin.

Won't you get fucked by not having any decent weapons though? Or do you have to get lucky with the first couple weapon chests or what?

Mob density is lowered considerably by skipping a bunch of levels.
Every level you pass through (read: through, not by) increases the tier of weapons that can drop and the density in enemy packs.
Even the Lab will seem half-empty through Oasis Skip.

I mean, usually laser pistol or assault rifle are pretty good for me to run. Level scaling doesn't jump too high, you just meet new enemies.

Basically, every time you warp through a level, the Difficulty goes up by a level. If you skip a bunch of levels, the Difficulty only goes up a little instead of a lot.

also if you want to turtle i think he has a limit to how many waves of reinforcements he can call, like 5 or 6 i think?

56 hours in and I've beaten the throne twice and seen it 7/8 times

but he's best to attack when he's calling in reinforcements... just take your auto crossbow or super-slugger and give him the dick

Not that guy but I get stuck on lil hunter consistently if I didn't get any good weapons. If I get a crossbow or slugger I can at least make it to the throne. I hardly ever get energy swords desu.

Why am I so bad at this game... whenever I get to the level with long range snipers I die.

it's not a race, unless you're trying to get Plant's B-Skin. Take your time. Use explosive ammo to make flanking attacks, or even the Hammerhead mutation. Don't be drawn in by items or radiation: make long-distance attacks to get rid of long-distance foes. If you're that thirsty for rads, get Plutonium Hunger.

Wait, can you only hear the B tracks if you're at low HP or something? I thought it was just a random chance.

I got multiple times to the throne, problem is that the game is a buggy mess, might be only the ps4 version, which I play, but from the around 6 times that I made it to the throne 4 were instances where the game froze and I couldn't do shit about that.

2014-16 were weird years, a bunch of indie games came out that were locked to 30fps for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Shows incompetence at the most fundamental level of game design, so I'm not sure why I would buy a game like that...

Yeah, I love it. It turned out to be much better than the trainwreck that is Nuclear Throne. NT is a real shame.

You're sortof right. Normally, it's a static low chance of hearing the B tracks.

However, if you're at 1 HP with any character, they're 100% guaranteed to play.
