Start playing video game

>start playing video game
>get bored after 15 minutes
What went wrong lads?

The game is stale

2nd monitor.

Play a better game

Might help if you cooled it with the continuous revolution theory bro

internet induced ADD

when presented with TOO MANY options the human mind will end up picking none even though it has an obvious one it wants to do

Maybe you are just too old lad? I didn't play video games in 5 years

>internet is down for like a week
>manage to actually beat 3 games in the time
checks out

Play a game that's different, something that interests you but is of a radically different genre than what you usually play.

Right now I'm in the same feel and have started up games of Hearts of Iron IV and Trails in the Sky because of how different they are from the regular old action-rpg/shooter I play all the time; after about of hour of confusion in each game, I got hooked like I'd never gotten into a rut in the first place.

Video games are boring tbqh

>too many games
>try most fo them
>none of them are interesting
>the games you are looking forward to months and years away
>between these periods is just suffering

You're probably right, this site makes it even worse.
I don't even know why I browse half the threads I do on here.

play good games

had a similar problem, then wanted to replay silent hill 2 out of nostalgia, I've been hooked for the whole afternoon.

Long ass walking cinematic where all you can do is look around... SO IMMERSIVE.

you play shit games

Sure, name me at least good games I haven't played yet

I think it's even worse if you have few games that you want to finish and then you feel guilty not playing them

You should try buying games instead of pirating them.

tl;dr Lack of depth from rushed productions to meet demand met falling standards, now we have a combination of the two and its industry standard to produce subpar titles because hardly anyone is left to tell people they're actually bad.

I enjoy games as a entertaining waste of time but can't take them seriously enough to really get into the story like a movie. They story has to revolve around gameplay so it can never truely live up to the full potential of the story no matter how well it may be written.

what

>good games I haven't played
there is no such thing

I know ;_;

I remember when I could sit down and play video games for 10 hours straight, these days I start to get bored after just 1

Your attention span is shit.

...

>if you endure torture for dozen of hours you will start to like it

more like
>startup console
>try some game
>it takes too much effort
>shutdown the console

that's what it's like growing up.
you will find less and less satisfaction with things in your life.
the colors have become gray my friend...

can confirm its real and not some meme phenomenon

>US TIRED GAMERS, HUH
kill yourselves, Sup Forumsedditors. This board isn't for you

HAHA EVERYONE IS A SAD PIECE OF SHIT LIKE ME

...

>enjoying single player game
>realize all my experiences are contained in isolation
>play multiplayer games, git gud
>realize there is nothing redeeming about being good at video games

I am now taking piano lessons. Video games are a massive waste of time.. and I just bought a 980 gtx last month.. yayyy...

>Piano lessons are meaningful

Sorry but nothing you do will have any lasting consequences for you yourself, ultimately

You could devote your life to science and advance QoL for future humankind, but beyond the slimmest of odds humanity will also dim out into the void with time.

I found getting a full time job really helped, not really a solution just an observation. the limited time really helped to spike my enjoyment and the extra income helped me not to evaluate every purchase and let me just buy what i wanted to play even if it wasn't the cheapest price.

I still pirate if the game is priced high though.

I also found mixing it up helped a lot sometimes i read a book or get wrapped up in a show until i find something i want to play. unfortunately the more games you experience the more you tend to compare them to previous games and less you enjoy them. this is why i think it's important to target games that do something new and novel instead of going after the newest best in a genre you played a ton of. the latest example of this was dragons dogma while the game itself has good game play and a semblance of story the pawn and vocation system being a completely new experience to me made it one of my most played games in a long time

well one could say playing instrument is waste of time also if you don't get something out of it

i know what you mean the act of me controlling the PC makes it so i don't even see the PC as anything other than my Avatar so i don't give a shit about their motivations sense in the end they are guided by me.

I guess you're not in the mood for vidya right now. Take a break and get back into that game a little later. I'll get into a mood where I don't want to touch something, it's like it's on fucking cooldown or something, i'll distract myself with something else and eventually go back to the original thing with a sense of REFRESHMENT.

That or your brain has gotten wired to take no pleasure in anything except Sup Forums funposting instead of actually playing vidya.
