Red 9 semi auto snip
Revolver
Striker

Starting handgun
TMP
Striker
Large Fish

That's all you need. And of course keep at least one flash grenade at all times.

Red 9 as much ammo as you can carry and spray

last time i played RE4 was like 100 years ago but i do remember red9 being OP as fuck

also that big ass revolver, broken butterfly? was really good against bosses

smg were all shit

>no stocks
0/10, see me after class.

I rolled Blacktail Striker Semi-auto Rifle and TMP

Hunk best Mercenary

Red9

Just the red9

I think I beat the game twice using just that gun and a knife.

Eggs, eggs, and more eggs.

>Spending 5+ minutes autisically organizing your inventory neatly
I'm not alone here then right?

>Whattaya buyin', stranger?

>Punisher
>Riot Gun
>TMP
>Semi Auto

Is the ps4 version of this any good? The version played is the ps2 one.

>Stranger! Stranger! Now that's a weapon.

Merchant is unironically the best RE character.

Red9 for ganados.
Bolt-action rifle for sniping and massive alpha damage when fully upgraded.
Striker for emergencies.

Sell everything else.

>Red9
>Semi Auto Rifle
>Striker
>Free broken butterfly
>Rocket launcher just for Verdugo and Salazar

I've lost count of my playthourgh's but it's always been this.

Pro tip: Never reload the butterfly. Use up the ammo on bosses and then get the ammo upgrade.

og weapons no merchant on pro

I have the HD remaster on PC I imagine its pretty much the same on console but yeah i would say its pretty good.

It doesn't matter as long as you spend an unusual amount of time autistically sorting it.

It's great. Runs and looks better than the PS2 version.

>Pro tip
Yeah this, I'm going through my first playthrough in years and have been abusing this.

I forgot how much ammo you burn through you always seem to have just enough. I've found maybe a grand total of 20 revolver bullets and I just got Ashley back on the island.

>R.P.D. outfit
>Blacktail
>TMP (with stock)
>Riot Gun
>Semi-Automatic Rifle
It's fun to run around as a super cop.

I played it on release (the HD version on PC) and I found the aiming a bit weird.

Not sure if it was just me or if it was an issue already fixed by now.

>I forgot how much ammo you burn through you always seem to have just enough
What? The game practically throws ammo at you all the time. Are you that bad of a shot?

Killer7 is the better magnum to go for first playthrough because you can get 35 FP on it earlier than 28 FP from the broken. The exclusive is only available at the very end near saddler where you won't much use it anyway.

That Mafia outfit looks good indeed, but the noises from Ashley's armor is making me crazy, not to mention that she no longer duck for cover which kinda sucks with tank control aiming in certain places. I just told her to stay put whenever possible.

>I just told her to stay put whenever possible.
You didn't do that in general?

TMP
TMP Stock
Striker

The Striker is just there to look cool you only use the TMP. You don't need a sniper just aim like less of a casual.

NO

I'm still going to use that heat scope thank you very much.

WAY

I always wondered, is the knife sheath simply duct taped to Leon's suspender-thing?

Definetly not that, way too many guns. For optimal playthroughs with strongest guns the Red 9 with the Stryker and the Broken Butterfly is the way to go. If you can be hassled buy an additional RPG for a boss besides the free one.

What's the deal with TMP?

I played it long ago and I don't remember it being that good.

it's shit.

All you need is red9 and striker for some fun blasting

Do you get the stock for the Red9?

of course not, that's a part of the survival feeling the older games provided, they gave you action and panic moments and then the peaceful inbetweens where you could regroup and prepare for the next part. They've been missing from recent RE titles because they all feel like a continuous run, which makes the games less reliant on survival.

You remember right, its not that good. Its alright for crowd control but, a shotgun does that job better. The only other time you would want one is against El Gigante fights because the gun staggers the bastards fast but, its not worth keeping one since theres only 3 of those fights in the game.

>Aaaaahhh... I'll buy it at a high price

fucking Jew

Red 9
Pump Shotgun
Bolt Action Rifle
Broken Butterfly

Git gud. The game is throwing ammo at you because you keep dying

Yes, for 3000pts I think and takes up 3 spaces. Its worth it. Plus it looks that much cooler.

If I'm not wrong I always used Red9 with stock, Striker and maybe the bolt action rifle.

Blacktail
Striker (frees up inventory)
Semi-auto rifle
Broken Butterfly

Did a playthrough yesterday where I used the default starter weapons.

Handgun was fun, but didn't get crits as often as I had hoped.
Shotgun was great, but I still prefer the Striker.
Default sniper rifle did insane damage, but the fire rate blew.

Red9, Regular Sniper, Striker, Free Broken Butterfly

>Red9
>striker
>semi auto
>broken butterfly
This is the one true load out

The tmp is best used to shoot stagger points on enemys like their head or knee so you can finish them with an melee move. You dont care about the damage since the melee will kill the enemy

Yeah it's annoying as fuck. I set her up in the center of rooms and let shit grab her.
In the El Gigante tunnel she's a great tank

I'll take regular sniper for what is essentially a magnum at Max ups

>no one mentioning the broadsword
it's like you don't even want to be Ashley's knight in shining armor...

tmp can also deal damage pretty fucking quick

Pistols which are your main firearm the whole game do that too and you start with one.

>All those health sprays

For what reason

>needing anythign other then the hand gun and 1 'big gun' for fighting a boss and a couppl eflash bangs
what is wrong with Sup Forums? the game is easy modo by head/leg shotting then kicking

>dude dis gam so easy lik dis if u pleyed derk sools
fuck off

Clearly bad
>2 pistols
>Magnum ammo
>No magnum

Knife only fucking plebs.

when did i even mention that game mate? are you just salty because you think this game is actualy hard?
also stop being so childish, just because a game is easy doesnt make it bad i fucking love this game unlike you, casual.

>falling for obvious bait
first day here?
top tip: if someone greentexts something you obviously didn't say but purposefully mispelled every word then they're false flagging.

Yep mum let me on, dont tell the owner in only 12 or ill get in trouble.

tmp ammo isn't as valuable, better to use it for that. also pretty useful against saddler's eyes since you can just spray

Serious question here guys. I'm considering a replay of RE4 and I don't know if I should just get the HD version on ps4 or play it on the Wii. While I do like me a bit of waggle and hear it's really good in RE4, I'm not sure if it's worth it with the HD around. I only played RE4 on ps2 before.

>NG
Punisher
Striker
Semi-auto rifle w/ scope

>NG+
typewriter
and all the gold eggs

>All these Semi-auto Rifle users

The hell? That shit hits like a nerf gun
Bolt action rifle is the gentlemen choice

don't play it on the Wii
you won't be able to play it on any other system ever again

>gentleman
>*tips* fedora
this is why Ada rejects you

you already played the non waggle might as well do the waggle.

Yes, this is the correct way to play RE4

It's "hard" if you are good at it and piss easy if you suck ass.

waggle's real, real good. best time i ever had with the game

>One shot headshots even on prof on normal enemies if you need to use it on them
>Kills plagas in regenerators

I liked the Bolt action in 5 but 4 the SAR is almost objectively better outside of maybe bosses.

That's literally all you need the rifle for, and the Semi-auto is better for both.

Friendly reminder that the magnums are useless and you're better off selling the Broken Butterfly/ammo for rocket launchers.

Not very valuable no but, so what? Other ammo besides magnum isnt either and saving TMP for a couple of spots in the game isnt optimal. Thats good spaces wasted for almost nothing in the case. And resources down the drain too in upgraded.
I would never take a TMP because other guns perform better but, its all about personal choice. Taking a the damn gun doesnt cripple you.

Thee Wii version is unironically the best version there still is. Now with the Switch coming with waggle 2.0, I would really love to see a HD remake for it.

Mine thrower is underrated and can two shot garradors

Okay, thanks guys. Gonna play some waggle then. Kinda shame I don't have the original zapper though, the 3rd party one I have sucks ass. I got it for free though.

the semi auto rifle does piss damage to anyone who isnt a normal grunt
Meanwhile the BA hits like a magnum halfway trough the game and literally destroys bosses

Your right hand comes off?

This.

I read about people on Sup Forums struggling with the Salazar fight, when I never had difficulty with it.

>Stay in centre to avoid tentacles
>Easily dodge instant kill attack that is clearly telegraphed
>Pop pop pop at the eye with handgun
>Once Salazar is exposed, bewm headshot with the bolt action rifle
>Kill him with 4-5 rifle rounds

Piece of piss.

This game really is the best. I can't think of any otehr game I replay as often or own as many versions of.

Is the "HD" version that was released on Steam a couple of years ago good?

Mainly concerned about mouse aiming working properly.

why not just play on a gamepad

>RE4 with decent mouse aiming
Now that I'd actually pay money for.

>Not You're right hand comes off?

Not worth the money no, but worth a pirate definately.

>not just Rocket Launch the shit out of it

I mean the game became easier with using a mouse so yes the mouse aiming is great.

It's been ages since I don't play a shooter with a gamepad so I can't aim for shit.

I'd take that as a no.

Noted, thanks.

If I emulate and try a gamepad instead, what's the best version?

I finished it years ago on PS2.

>Not using the Chicago Typewriter on the first playthrough

plebs

>being a shitter who plays with god mode on
You're that kid.

Is the PC version good or should I stick with the GC one?

I have small time.

>tfw emulating the gamecube version and it flat out in every way looks better than the PC version, even though the PC version looks fine

Only downside is forced 30 FPS, which is pretty terrible.

>If I emulate and try a gamepad instead, what's the best version?
Gamecube

PC version has all the extras that the gamecube version never got. Also runs at 60 FPS which feels amazing.

But the GC version is still the best looking because of the missing graphical effects in all non-nintendo versions of the game.

Overall if you're not picky about graphics (which there's still not that great of a difference) the PC version is the definitive version of the game.

Red9.
Starting shotgun.
First sniper.
Flash grenades.

I remember the PC version back then needed a graphics patch to look remotely acceptable.

wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Resident_Evil_4

>PAL version tested, enable 60Hz mode at the start.

Yeah, when I refer to PC version I mean the HD "remaster" on steam.

Not the original PC version which was an abomination.

>Typing "no way fag" in youtube gives you the ending
