MS

MS
>you can freely change your name on xbox live for a small fee
PSN
>if you made your PSN account as a little shit you will forever see your stupid "xUchihaSniper666x" name on you account you spend hundreds of dollars on

MS
>you can play most important xbox 360 games on xbone as long as you own the game physically
PSN
>you have to pay a monthly fee for ps now to be able to play the games you literally own physically because sony cant be bothered to do the same as MS

As someone who mostly plays japanese games Im not interested in the xbone in the slightest, but I sure am a bit jealous of xbone fags. What pisses me off the most is that I have to keep my PS3 because otherwise I literally had to pay twice each month (PS+ AND PS Now) if I ever wanted to play some older PS3 games. This shit is ridiculous.

Wow you console plebs are cucks

I don't pay a fee to change my name or play online on steam

>freely pay a fee
What the fuck am I reading?

>for a small fee
>most important xbox 360 games

What's the big deal about having to keep your Ps3 if you want to play those games? I still have all my old consoles hooked up ready to go if I ever want to play the old stuff.

I meant freely in a sense of "whenever the fuck I feel like it and have spare money"
sounds better than

>you cant
>no games at all

Shame the xbone doesn't have any games

>I used freely in a context where it isn't appropriate at all and meant conditionally instead
Well I'm sorry for mistaking what you said.

PC
>You can change your account name for free as long as no one else is using it or you can just simply use a display name

Why do people game on consoles again?

>paying to change your name or not being able to change it at all

Kek, PC always wins. How the fuck do you accept this?

Pirating on pc is literally so easy I'm literally spoilt for choice, when you have this much freedom, you'll lose interest in gaming very quickly

Steam
>change your name as many times as you like for no charge
>you can call yourself what you like
>there's no limit to the number of users who can share a name
>your profile ID must be unique but you can freely change that too
>there's no extra charge for playing older games
Console companies will continue to push at the boundaries of what their customers find acceptable, guided by the actions of their business rivals. Look at paid online, for instance. Microsoft had the balls to do it in the 7th generation. Sony saw that their primary competition were charging for online play, so they followed suit in the 8th generation. As the last remaining company with free online services, Nintendo knew that nobody would challenge them if they followed a paid online model for their 8½th generation system.

People who Like PS3 games already own a PS3 and have no reason to sell it.
I still haven't cleared its entire library of JRPGs and a few Non JPRG games.
I did beat all the big name exclusives on it.

I also had a 360.
But i finished every single one of its good exclusives.
It was a good console but i did clear all of the games worth plaything on it during the 6 years i had it.
It was practically my only gaming system.
Other than my PC that was around the same power as a 360.
It ran some games better and some games worse.
But it had little to no exclusives during that console era and many 360/ps3 games never came to PC.
And finally sold it to a friend who doesn't have a single console and a shit PC for a decent price to buy a new Gaming PC.
It meant a lot to him especially sense the console was jtaged and i had my 360 collection of over 200 games on DVDs.
I still miss the system.
But i realy don't have time to play games on it again.
I replayed Ace combat 6 one more time before selling it.
But its gone to a better place.

Does Steam ban offensive names like Xbone does?

They take up a lot of shelf space, and you have to deal with a huge tangle of power and input cables. If your TV has limited input sockets, you'll have to keep swapping cables or buy HDMI splitters. It's unnecessary hassle, but I suppose backwards-compatible consoles aren't an efficient business model.

No

I never got banned or asked to change my name and i used plenty of racist and offensive shit but it's just anecdotal evidence. Maybe it happens.

Rarely

>I don't pay a fee to change my name or play online on steam
Have fun playing with cheaters, russians and huehues.

edgy faglord spotted

Always been a sony fag but I have to admit I think Xbox One came on top for me this gen. Despite the whole kinect nonsense it feels like a better machine compared to PS4.

Mostly because of the backwards compat, name change, the UI is better imo and after getting used to an Xbox One controller it feels much more comfortable to me compared to the PS4 controller.

I'm an idort anyway so I have no allegiance to any brand eitherway.

Pretty much, yeah.

>worried ps4 won't have decent backwards compatibility
>limited games on the PSN for it
>buy a PS4
>my PS3 doesn't vanish into thin air and I can still use it
Nice

I have no first-hand experience because my display name is relatively mild. If it targets a specific user, or it gets a lot of reports, they might force someone to change their name. I don't think you'd get banned for it. Gaben has spoken out in favour of free expression in the past, so that might be why Steam is not as harsh as most gaming services with regard to censorship.

>playing MOBAs and call of duty GO

do you people honestly care about being stuck with some dumb name you gave yourself when you were a kid?
are people online meanies to you because of it?
or do you not want to look totally uncool to your Sup Forums buddies?

>"Now that I'm a mature, fully grown adult I should change my online handle so random people on the internet don't think I'm some geek kid loser!"

KEK

don't you DARE insult sony you fucking xbot

delete this thread RIGHTN OW

The only rule for your name on Steam is that you can't have Steam or Valve in it to prevent phishing. It'll automatically blank it or star it out if you try.

Woah so I can't name myself Cleveland Steamer?
That's a bit unfair. Thanks for nothing Gaben.

>not naming yourself Steveland Cleaner

Literally all I want is the ability to change my name on PSN. It's so fucking retarded the way they handle it. Xbox has always offered the better service.

I mean sure it's a better service but you'd pay money for a name change?

Maybe you should have just picked a good name to begin with?
How difficult is it to think into the future and see if a name is worth keeping or not.
Honestly, you're probably the kind of idiot who gets a band tattoo without realizing your taste in music will change in ten years time but that shit is permanent.

That explains a lot. I pirate on all my old consoles and on pc. I just do it for fun though.

I keep downloading games thinking I'll muster up the courage to play something. I keep downloading thinking one day I might play these, might as well get it now.[/spoilers]

I never do
