Any other Soulsters not sold on Nioh??

Any other Soulsters not sold on Nioh? It's just a linear hack n slasher with zero depth beyond min maxing weapons and attacks.

Me to bro xDD haha Praise the Sun :DDDD

I am super sold, gonna buy a PS4 for Nioh and BB.

>Soulster
I know you're being ironic but kys nonetheless.

I'm getting it after Persona 5 and Nier, I'm already occupied with Gravity Rush 2 then finishing Etrian Odyssey 4.

how is the level design? is it varied, vertical and/or with branching paths and shortcuts?

If the game was made by fromsoft and called Oni Souls or something you niggers would eat it up all the same.

Stop trying to pretend Soulsborne is a some sort of elite genre. Shit's stale already in just the 7-8 years it's been around and Nioh is attempting to add variety.

>how is the level design?
Just follow the narrow path and see.

Mission based, so they're mostly linear but have loop around and shortcuts and sometimes backtracking to unlock doors to hidden items

>kys
no user you are the nigger

Not good enough to be a Soulster? You have to have beaten at least three of the Soulsborne games to achieve such status.

Is this a vidya tie-in with the movie Silence?

I was sold since the alpha, but fuck Muneshige.

Chalk it up to me being a fucking idiot, but I just don't get Nioh's combat. Triangle and Square attack, I can change stances, and fire guns/bows, but this ki crap confuses the shit out of me. I especially hate when I'm fighting yokai and I accidentally step into their lingering slow-stamina-regen fart vortexes and I get pooped out just in time for an Oni to slash me up a million times.
I'm still probably gunna buy it tho, shit's really fun but it frustrates me.

The game literally offers tenfold more than Bloodborne and any souls other than Dark Souls 2.

It doesn't play or feel or look like a souls game in any way, it's just employed a few of its mechanics and is focused more towards difficulty.
It's still fun though, I enjoyed the demo and I'll probably buy it when it goes on sale or something.

What's confusing about the ki? It's an active reload for your stamina, the meter even fills up so you can get consistently good timing.

It's not a Souls game.

Yes, there vertically, branching paths, shortcuts, lots of hidden shit, mini bosses everywhere. Most checkpoints are blocked by boss fogs you have to actually earn you checkpoint.

The atmosphere, visuals, artistic designs, animations, sound, music and level design are all much worse than Souls.

That said, the combat is basically Onimusha so I'm sold. It's more of an action RPG than the action adventure with RPG elements that Souls aims for.

UpvotedNah, more like the last samurai or that one with keanu reives

Yes sold, day one buy.

Give it more time u lil scrub. Experiment with the attacks and find a playstyle that suits you. Triangle is heavy attacks, square is fast attack but lower damage. Find a stance that suits you or the enemy you're fighting. and in that stance use heavy or fast attacks depending on the circumstances. Do this all while spamming R1 for KI regen and making sure you're out of the enemies aura so your Stamnia isn't on lock down.

Shit is mad fun once you get the hang of it.

it might as well be its pretty blatant

Will get it maybe next year when it's half price.

What this game offers in pure gameplay and difficulty negates all the production and atmospheric value in souls games. Nioh's atmosphere is very oppressive though, the environment and music and sound effets in particular set a horror-tier tone that keeps you on your toes.

it's exclusive....

>It's just a linear hack n slasher with zero depth beyond min maxing weapons and attacks.
how is souls not that?
kek

Excellent shillpost

ye desu just a lame version of the Dark Souls™ series, ima go play Dark Souls 3™ now, bye

>dark souls 3
Shit taste
Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne are the best FROM games I've played
(I'm not going to pretend I've played Demon Souls, most people are lying when they say they've played Demon Souls)

It's significantly different to Souls while still being in the same vein which is why I'm looking forward to it. Bit bored of Souls now, to be honest I started losing interest at DaS2 but BB reinvigorated my interest a little, DaS3 was disappointing.

Nioh is one of the only games I'm looking forward to this year so much so that preordered, which I almost never do and am generally against.

I've only played Demons and Dark Souls 1 and DaS was miles better.

salty NioH fag, sorry your bootleg knock-off isn't as good as the real deal
how about you go shill and post webms somewhere, fag lmao

I just can't get behind the diablo-like loot system. I really dislike farming and having a thousand items to compare

If you're not swapping stances you're missing out on a lot of ki and damage. It let's you extend combos if you time it right as well certain skills giving you much bigger ki boosts and damage boosts.

I'm having trouble with the boss in trial

I just feel like i'm not doing enough damage

Also i'm fucking overwhelmed by consumables. Bad idea to throw fucking 80 types of consumables at a beginner

>Soulsters
>game is a diablo grind game

Anyways what do you guys think the end game level will be 500? I think the game does have more difficulties than twilights seems like they are going the diablo route with normal hell nightmare and 2 more.

>find kodama that gives you increased chance of finding elixers
>kill trash mobs til you have 8 elixirs
>use magic points to get some elemental buffs
>fight ogress
>use high stance
>apply element
>wait for her to attack
>dodge attack, hit her with ONE (1) strong attack
>back the fuck off
>don't ever attack unless she's just attacked
>if you get hit once, use elixir

don't forget to ki burst.

like always and forever, not getting glorified paperweight for a single game

>It's just a linear hack n slasher with zero depth beyond min maxing weapons and attacks
Good, I liked DS3.

I strongly dislike the weapon and armor grinding element. I fucking hate sorting out my inventory and selling tons of useless shit every time I reach a shrine.

Yeah, if only you could do Excel sheets on PS4

I work at work desu sempay

Nioh dug the grave.

How many hours should I get out of the demo? I want to know if it's worth downloading, or just waiting.

Nowhere near the level of BB

Linear in what? The first level? You haven't played the game.

> dodge attack

That seems to be the crux of the problem so far

gotta learn the timing

>Soulster
Is that like the darksouls of being a faggot?

It's an attempt at making a new buzzword for falseflaggers, but seeing the average souls player it's possible some of them might actually use it unironically until they have it pointed out for them.

Found out it's better to dodge with the low stance, much better dodging ability

>when you pop a carnage talisman with 2kat

If I have +fire damage on my hand cannon, does that improve all of my fire damage or just the fire damage I deal with my cannon?

Shit tastes or blind?

>It's just a linear hack n slasher with zero depth beyond min maxing weapons and attacks
You're a fool if you think the Souls series is anything else.

That said, I'm worried. Between the first and second demo it really felt like something was lost but I can't put my finger on it. Perhaps I just burnt myself out but I played 40 hours of the first one but stopped playing the second one after around eight and didn't even complete it. Still going to get it as soon as it drops below 50 ausbucks physical.

Couple of issues: I really don't like the Diablo-style loot in this type of game, kills the sense of discovery/reward that the Souls games have. Also, it doesn't have the penchant for visual cues. This enemy can land a full combo and barely dent your health, then the guy next to him that looks visually to be of similar threat can almost one-shot you. Some ogres kill you in 4 hits, others 2, and they look identical. It's annoying that most unexpected deaths aren't clever traps, but enemies that are more powerful than they appear, for no apparent reason. Think back to Demon's Souls, you saw a Red-eyed Knight, got fucked, and learned that Red-eyed Knights are to be taken seriously. This would be like if one out of five of the zombie-like dreg enemies could one-shot you too. Still like the game, but don't love it.

I wanted Ninja Gaiden + Souls
