What game has done a complete 180 after release?

Not Diablo 3 that's for goddamn sure
180's w/ RoS, then 180's back w/ post-kanai patches
...
Has any modern game had a rougher life than Diablo 3?
It's the game equivalent of a kid being born with various deformities, and then undergoing painful surgery for years until its unrecognizable corpse lies dead on the operating table, abandoned by its own parents.
What a mess of a game. It was fun in groups trying to get inferno done. Then they nerfed everything.
i´ll never forgot those days of act 2 goblin farming.
Fucking heavy
launch was fucking awful. it only got good after loot 2.0
So i stopped playing D3 like 3 months after release.
I had around 100 friends in my friends list.
Today i fire up that BattleNet app and i take a look and not a single one of those 100 people is online.
Really makes you think.
It's good now though, at least way better than release
>100 people aren't playing a game 200 weeks after it was first released
amazing
I guess that was when they removed the ilvl from acts. So people could farm Stormshield everywhere, and ilvl60+ rings.
Diablo 3's recent direction is a masterclass in why instant gratification is a bad thing.
There's no freedom, barely any interaction with the game world, and there's no meaningful long-term goals.
Whats wrong with post Kanai?
>It's good now though
See It's entertaining in the short term, but has no lasting appeal.
People just hop on board for a season, enjoy the 10 hour gearing process, and then wait for the next season.
>It's good now though, at least way better than release
This is arguable tbqh. I think the launch game was better, but Inferno was slightly overtuned, and there should've been ladders from the start.
Also, Blizzard shouldn't have been Jews and introduced real-money auction house.
correct
I've heard this a lot, what did they actually change? Is the story still garbage?
For the short amount of time the RMAH was online, i enjoyed it..mostly because credit card warrriors would buyout most stuff within the 5min posting time.
Path of Exile has done more of a 180. In beta and 1.0 it was a hard, gritty hack and slash. These days it's more akin to bullet hell, everything has AOE and enough damage to one-shot both the player and the enemies. They're even trying to port it to xbone for the casual dollars.
Diablo 3 just made a casual H&S and made it easier.
What's wrong with kanai
Also I forgot to mention that it should've been possible to both play and clear the game solo without being connected to internet.
>start new character
>hit 70 in six minutes
>open the free haedrig's gift for a full six-piece set that dictates every piece of gear i use and every ability on my bar
>grind the same enemies and tilesets ad infinitum
oh, i forgot that i have the option of never cracking torment 4 (there are literally 17 different difficulty levels, because spreading the already small playerbase over that many tiers of needless granularity is such a great idea) by using subpar gear instead of the overpower sets that do literally 10,000 times the damage
Well I'd say that it's good to play a while when season starts, but since recent patch I can't play due to fucking lag spikes which are happening in d3 only, and blizzard ain't saying shit in any of numerous threads on the forums about this issue.
I'd say the story got even worse with RoS.
>2 and a half hours to level in group, non power level
>Have to do pretty much everything in the game and specific difficulties to get the full set, takes another few hours if not getting power levelled
>Free to not use it, use some of it or not even do it
>Can literally go into T6 with the full set
>Majority of the player base is in T6, T10 or T13
>Most players only use T13 for puzzle rings, since it's fucking hard
You don't actually play this game, that's okay
>hit 70 in six minutes
how? powerleveling?
The people telling you this are the ones who get bored within a week of every season.
What they basically did was remove trade, so that they could control droptables without thinking of any economy.
They also buffed sets and legendaries to actually influence builds.
Seemed like good ideas in theory, but
In its current state:
>legendary droprate is bonkers, with GR bosses dropping 6+ of them
>this means you'll get all of your desired gear pieces in a day or two
>set bonuses dictate what abilities you have to use, as they multiply their damage by insane numbers like 11000%
>group play requires you to run an optimal 1 (fotm dps) and 3 supports to obtain proper xp
>soloplay is objectively less rewarding than group play
Inferno on launch is the only part of that game I actually enjoyed.
>farming act 3 siegebreaker portion over and over again
ugh... I hated diablo 3 during it's launch
>mfw selling a 1000 dmg weapon for 250$ on the RMAH around launch
It was fun while it lasted
>hit 70 in six minutes
Nani?
it's a good game now.
Not him, but watch this youtube.com
Mute the shitty e-celeb if you want.
>e-celebs getting carried
user. Not everyone is an internet welfare recipient.
Actually it was farming champ packs in act 1 in order to get to Siegebreaker.
Also fucking dying out of nowhere and then getting a recap of why it happened when the game resynced afterwards before going back to farming some stairs in act 3 hell to hit 60 again and die to some insane lag all over again in act 1 or 2 inferno all over again. Good times.
Story is still the same
aesthetics are still the same
Only thing tweaked and not fixed is Gameplay
Also the fact that they charge for the game and then the expansion packs after fucking their audience over is unforgivable.
If you bought this piece of shit at launch that shit should be free as a god damn apology
>wake up
>realize that you're a mid-tier Diablo 3 streamer
>you have to stream the game for 10 hours a day while keeping up an entertaining personality to make a living
What do?
the only 180 it did was being hard from bad design, to piss easy from bad design.
9 seasons and grinding your first character to 70 is still a fucking boring ass shit if don't let people do it for you, whish is a fucking crutch.
Masturbate on cam and get an actual fucking job?
Are you actually a streamer, or are you a gamer?
Do you like Diablo and want to play it for 10 hours or day, or do you hate it but just play it because it gets you views?
Something to think about. Having a reputation as a gamer means people expect you to play a certain game, and you'll lose viewers if you play something else. Being a streamer means you can play whatever, and most people will stay because they like watching you.
Give me Archangel Tyrael back, instead of Nigrael and Mary Sue Nephalem. I can't put it in words how disappointed I was when I heard of it.
Shit is completely fucked up - before it was supposed to be very hard to defeat a single Brother, like Diablo. Now, all of them, including Lesser Evils and crammed into a single soulstone (who thought it was a good idea to catch them all into a single stone? Tyrael knew before, that trapping them one by one was the safer way, he just didn't know he was betrayed), making them incredibly powerful and still, you fuck them up like nothing.
Completely destroyed the lore, which before was interesting and not that over the top - now, it resembles Dragon Ball with power levels getting bigger and bigger, but Nephalem doesn't give a shit. Hell, even Goku had more problems with his adversaries.
You defeat all the evils united and Death itself. What's next? If they release Diablo IV then it's bound to be shit.
I'm not a streamer, just a mere thought of the people who are stuck streaming dying games for that many hours to make a living.
I wonder if they've realized that their dream is dead.
Hello.
>If they release Diablo IV then it's bound to be shit.
Which is why they never will. If they ever release another Diablo game, it'll either be much later in the future so they can fuck shit up or way in the past so they can write the lore.
Past would fit since ancient Nephalem are said to be much more powerful than the current generation, and power creep seems to be the Blizzard way. It's a simple way to explain Diablo being in the game again too.
the only good thing about this shitty game was those r34pics on femdiablo. Dem hips.
I'd prefer a more grounded game. Maybe the player being one of the Horadrim, and the game is about locking the prime evils for the first time.
The Worldstone was an inhibitor for human power. Tyrael smashed it after Baal touched it in it's naughty no-no place, letting humanity go bunta. The Worldstone was basically a super Soulstone that trapped humanity rather than a prime evil.
Yes I realize I didn't refute a single thing you said and you're still 100% correct.
That's not spectacular and flashy enough to bring attention to your game.
>Tyrone
>Embodiment of Wisdom
>Falls for every trick the enemy plays
who /demonhunter/ here?
He couldn't even use the Chalad'ar properly after becoming mortal.
This is just too stupid, a shame they raped one of their most successful universes.
Literally what game.
P-please, I'm genuinely interested.
Pic unrelated? Instead of actually fixing any of the problems with the game, they've just built shitty shortcuts around them
On top of that the game has gotten more and more easy thanks to the stupid amounts of powercreep, as if it wasn't mindless enough to begin with
Diablo III is enjoyable when I'm high and want to see a bunch of flashy colors on my screen while I put little effort into playing and make little progress since that's the way the game is set up after getting your 6pc.
Otherwise, I play Grim Dawn.
