Why was this mission so hard?

Was it really?

Took me maybe three tries.

Now the fucking flying school was another fucking story...

Because if you were too close to the train Big Smoke would just shoot the train when aiming for the guys
Also the excess of ramps makes you think you're supposed to jump up to the roof which is fairly hard

Big Smoke can't shoot for shit

Still not really sure how it works, the times I did finish it properly appear to be luck. Now I just ride my bike onto the train to save hassle.

So why do people think this is hard again?

Recently played San Andreas for the first time since 2006 and I beat it first try, it was very easy. I was expecting it to be hard considering all the "FOLLOW THE TRAIN XD" memes

Also I was just about to make a thread bout this mission too, wtf

It wasn't

I did it first try back on PS2 when the game came out and had no idea people struggled until threads like these on Sup Forums years later

Really shows you how shit Sup Forums is at video games when this is considered difficult

Recently picked this up on steam

Breezed through a lot of the infamous missions like that one (and the plane shit) but got stuck on other random stuff that never gave me trouble before

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Players are punished for AI's poor aiming.

I bet you played on easy faggot

>he didn't struggle at this mission I did
>he must have played on easy!

No faggot you're just bad at the game. Learn how the AI works and respond appropriately. Smoke needs line of sight to shoot the enemies, don't hug the train or he can't hit the enemies. Also git gud at driving

gta doesnt even have difficulty levels

>blaming the ai

literally all you had to do was follow the train

>why was this mission so hard?

Smoke aims directly at the enemies, usually around their torsoes. Most players will follow the train and be too close to it, meaning all of Smoke's bullets will hit the side of the train instead of the enemies. Properly going a bit away from it allows him to aim properly.

Check your frame limiter setting.

ha ha u got prank'd

>flying school
>not driving school

Second post, truth post.

Was it really that hard?

I finished the flight school using a faulty wireless controller, the right stick kept turning at weird angles constantly against my will even though I'm holding it in place, if I finished flight school using that you don't have the right to call it hard.
I was about 14-15 at the time

ALL YOU HAD TO DO

The mission is not hard but it is easy to fail if that makes sense. Even if you keep the right distance most of the time: the problem is, that there is an artificial cap to how fast smoke kills the dudes on the train no matter how well you do, because one will hang onto the ledge with one hand and can't be hurt at all as long as this goes on. I also have the feeling, that they don't legitimate lifebars but rather the game does not allow x amount of npcs to die before you cross a certain point. So no matter how well you do in the beginning, you have a rather small margin for error for the final guys.

KAINGZ AN SHEIT

You could literally snipe the driver] if that mission gave you THAT much trouble.

how

With a sniper rifle.

/threwad

this and also those fucks on train have shitload of HP.
I got on the train, got off the bike, took out sniper rifle, put bullet directly into first fucker's forehead, dude still stands there like nothing happened
I tried also with rocket launcher, but you can't actually shoot on the train, since you are moving faster than rocket or for some other reason every your shot forward results in the explosion directly in front of your face.

fuuuuug, nice protip

Did no one else just ditch Smoke, use the jetpack cheat, kill everyone on the train and return to Smoke?

Works well desu
