Disregarding all the shitty business practices around it. If this game had 75℅ less Batmobile it would've been godtier

Disregarding all the shitty business practices around it. If this game had 75℅ less Batmobile it would've been godtier.

I still don't understand why they forced you to use the fucking batmobile for half the fucking game. One of the worst decisions i've ever seen someone make.

>over half of the AR missions are batmobile related
I just wanted more stealth but there's only like 4 of them in the entire fucking game.

I wanted to love the game but that batmobile killed it for me. I hope the next game doesn't feature that baby weight car at all. The tank combat and control scheme was ass and not fun. I would've forgiven the game if it had actual bosses. The only thing good about the game was the graphics and the city. I wish there more predator segments in this game.

>"People always said how much they wanted the Batmobile so we'll make them use it half the game to make up for it."

how is the PC version now?

I played the ps4 version at launch and it was fine

I absolutely loved the game and the Batmobile

It's shortcomings were forcing the Batmobile in batshit retarded positions like boss fights though. I'll never understand a developer who seemed to know their Batman pretty well having you fight Deathstroke in a literal tank battle and letting you end him with 1 single punch. Absolutely baffling.

Getting 3 stars in the Batmobile DLC maps was also a pain in the ass

As fine as it could be, there were definite frame rate drops as you rushed through the city and loads of shit was going on

I wanna collect all those comfy SF pics

I couldn't even finish it because of the Batmobile. I loved Asylum and City but in Knight I only got as far as that first infiltration of that place Arkham Knight was occupying.

I still don't understand the hate around the batmobile.
Sure, it was very strange that for 2 games straight he never needed it, but in this game Batman can't take 2 steps without finding a new issue that only the batmobile can take care of, I give you that.

But I think using the car was fun, I felt it controlled just right, and fuck me, the combat felt satisfying. I guess there is something wrong with me, but more power to me because I enjoyed the game.

too bad I never saw the true ending, because I did all the sidequests, EXCEPT for collecting every single Riddler trophy. Fuck Riddler trophies, I'm not doing that.

It's the fact it was forced everywhere. I enjoyed it too, moreso than your bitch ass because I have every trophy but people don't play the Batman games for their driving mechanics and they never have. The more they were made to use it, the more the hate grew.

if the batmobile could wallride or drive up buildings i would not give a shit. but being confined to streets made it really shitty

>℅
>not %

Good: Batmobile as a transportation mechanic since the city is bigger now and would be faster than ziplining everywhere.
Bad: Forcing the Batmobile way too hard, even in awkward situations.

I goofed on that one friendo

You're thinking of the Spider-Buggy, which has never been in a Spider-Man game yet

It could kind of drive up a few walls.

yeah pretty much this.

it became so excessive that every time you got stuck, couldnt reach something etc it all came down to using the batmobile.

>how is the PC version now?
It was the only game which stuttered like shit on my 8gb ram gaming rig with low graphic settings. And that was after all those patches they'd made. I'm still fucking mad.

The idea if a batmobile is not bad idea but overuse of it made it very annoying. I liked the driving aspect but the tank nonsense and puzzel solving usage was just not fun and good. The devs should've focused on other aspect that batman arkham games to be great games. The game also felt easy and the city felt too dead with thugs just waiting for batman to put them to sleep.

I thought the Batmobile was fine. I would actually give a shit if the segment's weren't short as fuck and or poorly made.

Also best girl

The race tracks were top tier fag

I said they were fine tho.

i really didn't like the stealth tank sections. or the boss fights associated with it

The race tracks were fun but using the Batmobile to solve puzzles and in boss battles is fucking terrible

How long did it take you to realize that Origins was the best one?

What's terrible about them?

As soon as my save got deleted

The overabundance of them, the fact that they used a fucking tank section to fight Deathstroke only for him go out like a bitch, and why the fuck would the Riddler have car-based riddles

Not long really. Overall it felt good cause they kept the number of villains at reasonable levels, added extended interactions with Penguin, Joke and Bane and actual threat in form of Police.

Overall it was a 9/10 Year One game, but technical stuff kept it at 8/10. Oh yeah and on top of it - Origins MP was fun if you could get those people playing but I don't think it was that warranted to be included.

By "the segment's" I thought you meant the segments I thought you referred to those with the Batmobile, my bad

The Puzzles were OK, boss battles were shite. I did like the Excavator one, but that should have been one and done in terms of Batmobile boss fights

Story's alright but it felt like Arkham City 2 with not much innovation, there's a fucked up game balance with the shock gloves, and I wanted a Batman story without Joker being at the center

I liked aspects of the Batmobile. Having preps go "Oh shit!" and try to drive off, only for you to run them down was delightful. Some of the tank combat could be fun. Using a few of its gimmicks for puzzles was a nice change of pace from the usual.

But as everyone has said, there was far too much of it. It didn't feel like a tool at Batman's disposal, it felt like a mandatory sub-game you had to get through before you could go back and play the real game.

I liked the idea of martial artists. It is weird the enemies never got added in Knight.

I felt like that was mostly WB's injection at the last minute. Overall the game felt like it could carry on without Joker.

It's really a shame that the console version has a grain filter slapped over it.

The Open world was shit in Origins but the levels themselves were really well designed. It was pretty linear even by Arkham standards, but making your way up a run down hotel as a blizzard raged on outside just felt fantastic. Even the boss fights were better. It's not the best one, not by a long shot but it had some really nice ideas.
Jokers fun house was great too

I forgot about those. They were cool but they broke my rhythm pretty often. If they were in Knight I'd lose my shit, those community challenges were frustrating enough

It was a pretty good game, but I think City is still my favorite. The Joker twist kind of soured it for me when I first played it, but I got over it. Bane was handled quite well, and I enjoyed Firefly's portrayal here more than his Arkham Knight one.

The multiplayer in Origins had no right to be as fun as it was. It wasn't balanced for fuck, in my opinion, but it still managed to be fun.

Jfc never have I wanted to break the never stick your dick in crazy rule this hard

There were other problems.

One thing that was irritating was that towards the end of the game, it kept stacking different "these enemies are basically invincible unless you kill them in a very specific way".

I think there were something like 4 different enemies like that in the end and it made the game too much of a test of your memories and interrupted the flow of the combat.

I'll give them credit for implementing the car and tank pretty well, but cars and tanks just don't feel very "batman"

Shock gauntlets were the best part of origins. It was just a more satisfying way of taking out the big threats instead of breaking an arm or a leg.

I almost never used the Batmobile for transportation. Gliding through the city with a mk. 4 grapnel boost was much more fun.

>Perform takedown move
>Activate shock gloves just as Batman breaks their bone

>"these enemies are basically invincible unless you kill them in a very specific way
That's in all the Arkham games tho.

The batmobile wasn't even that bad, and randomly ejecting out of it while driving is fun as fuck and one of the best aspects of the game.

Fucking bandwagoning crybabies.

AK had more than any other though, in the earlier games I only remember the big guys and the shock stick guys.

But Knight balances the increase of weapons type enemies by letting you use their weapons as well. When using Bats( etc) you go through certain enemy types and you don't have to beat them certain ways. It's basically a temporary version of Origins shock gloves.

I agree. I thought the Batmobile was fine and I don't really see the difference in having to use the Batmobile for puzzles and just using a gadget like in older Arkhams. I even like the tank battles. They are fun and help breaks up the gameplay so it doesn't feel like you are just running to one freeflow/ predator segment to the next. If I would change something it would be that you should be able to take out tanks without the batmobile in a stealth way of you want to avoid Tank fights.

>Shock gauntlets were the best part
I purposefully didn't use them, becomes easy as piss

How did you beat Bane then :^)

>fucking bandowagoning crybabies
Are you referring to your self? Most everyone in this thread said they don't think the batmobile itself was handled poorly, only that it's too frequently used in comparison to everything else in the game.

It's a fucking batman game. I wasn't playing it to drive around in a car.

This game is great. I recommend any new players to quickly upgrade health/armor skills though, later on it gets a little hectic.

Took me 35 hours or so to platinum. I enjoyed the riddler puzzles and trophies. AR challenges really improved my ability as well (for knightmare mode).

I pulled off the mask

>Took me 35 hours or so to platinum
Did you rush through? Bloody hell the Riddler trophies alone could occupy you for that long, I probably played for over 100

Did he die?

I bought this game a couple of months ago. Open world games like these always make my dick hard. The Batmobile is annoying only when I'm getting fucking raped by drones, and since I'm trying to 100% ng+ it makes me want to kill myself. That's my only problem with it. Thinking about dropping money on getting the dlc and the rest of the Batman series.

That would be extremely painful I imagine

>and the rest of the Batman series.
Do it

>the dlc
Eh, wait for it to go on sale. Harley Quinn's and Red Hood's stuff is short af. The Batgirl stuff is nothing special and is only about 2 hours. Season of Infamy is decent though. The rest is just challenge maps which will keep you occupied if you're one of those who does them all, further still if you try to 3 star them all

>having you fight Deathstroke in a literal tank battle and letting you end him with 1 single punch

I will never not be mad at this.

Hands down the most disappointing game of that year.

You can shoot the disruptor at them so when they shoot at you they blow up iirc

RRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I don't see whats wrong with the Batmobile, it was good. And the only good boss fight was n the Batmobile.

Honestly surprised me they made trophies actually quite difficult. I did them though, the most trouble I had with them was for no trophy or reward, just a personal thing I was trying to get done on one of the maps. Think I wanted perfect freeflow every round but couldn't quite achieve it. Had the 3 stars but perfect freeflow was my goal in all of them with Bats

I think 35+ is pretty normal for platinum.
The AR challenges only took a few hours.

And I enjoyed collecting the riddler trophies. Its easy after have interrogated green thugs throughout the game. I just followed a path to the nearest puzzle until there was none left.

I definitely rushed through knightmare though. Less than 7-6 hours for sure.

The iceberg lounge one is just insane, I just can't do it.

Even if you cheese it with the rope pull shit that basically makes you invincible you need to maintain a 300x+ combo for like 15 minutes and if you hit the wrong guy with the rope you need to build up your combo all the way again.

cont.
let me see if I can double check that playtime, might be 45 hours

>Driving through the city at full speed
>hit some goon standing in the road
>go check on him
>unconscious
>shooting a car with the bat tank also makes then 'unconscious'

I'm almost certain that bats has reprogrammed detective mode to change 'deceased' to 'unconscious' at every occurrence.

>Do it
Fuck it, might as well.
>season of infamy
I got that with the game. Those were a bit short, too. But I thought the other dlc would be longer for some reason. It was still cool though. Ra's Al Ghul was my favorite mission.

Still framedrops to all hell whenever a lot of shit is happening but it isn't unplayable.

I must say I am very impressed with it visually, it feels like I am actually playing a tech demo at times.

Runs absolutely fine even on mid-range cards as long as you turn the two Nvidia-exclusive GoyWorks features off (which cause drops below 60fps even on a 1070). Currently playing it on an R9 285 with everything maxed, except textures on low thanks to no VRAM (they still look fine desu). Locked 60fps at 1080p.

Game save in data management shows 43:48:55

The Iceberg actually didn't give me much trouble, I remember doing it thinking I really could have done far better. I don't recall having to maintain a combo that high for that period of time though, at the beginning as its easy just mash attack on everyone, if you do it fast enough you can build up a combo quick af and they can't really touch you. The rope pull move which flips them over you is useful af, but yeah the enemy detection pissed me off too many times as I went through the maps.

Sometimes he just doesn't hit who you want him to which ruins the entire combo and turns everything to shit and you don't actually feel like its your fault which is what's worse. Then there's the shitty camera angles. Especially when you do the rope pull flip move, there's that stupid action camera that's incredibly disorientating and it takes you a second to sort of reevalutate your surroundings and see what's what and who's where

Season of Infamy is the best of the DLC, the other story shit is ass in comparison really. Like I said, if you're into 3 starring the challenge maps, it's easily worth it. I spent a lot of time on them, especially since the trophies wanted you to do it with all the batmobile models but other than that they don't really add a whole lot.

>upgrading armor and health
Scrub
I upgraded the batmobile armor though. Fuck trying to deal with 20 drones on 4 bars of health.

That seems fast af for me. I don't know why but I like to pad my hours played these days so that's probably it. My save file was probably sitting around 100 hours when I Platinum'd but I was in no rush to do so. Just strikes me as odd that it's even possible in half that. Isn't it essentially two full playthroughs?

Fuck no, it was the worst.
Terrible map too.
Knight is the only decent one.

I think you're just slow senpai

Sort of, knightmare only requires the scarecrow mission. Everything else can be ignored. I think the percentage is around 42% after completing just scarecrow.

Yeah I guess, I like taking my time but I reckoned Arkham Knight was a longer game than that

Tbh if I bought a new full price game and it lasted less than ~30 hours I'd probably be disappointed

Oh right, that makes more sense. I did everything again because why not

They want to make a batman beyond game so bad but they won't pull the trigger on one.

Aren't they done with Batman now?

The graphics are phenomenal tbf

they've been done with him like 3 times now. There's gonna be another, it's only a matter of time.

I doubt it

he's a big guy

It's already the best game in the series, it has almost all of the batfamily in it except for Stephanie, Cass, and Damian. What more do you want?

Rubber bullets. Honest.

75% less Batmobile and 75% more framerate

Outfits that swap out Barbara's Batsuit with Cass's Batsuit, Steph's Batsuit and Batwoman.

Batman Returns Skin for Catwoman

>start the game
>go here, use this gadget to do this
>go in the other part of the city, use this gadget to do this
>now go there and guess what, use this other fucking useless gadget to do another shitty boring stuff
>now you unlocked the batmobile, let's try its 1000 useless gadgets
This was more than 1 hour of game. Shit is so fucking boring

>no Batwoman
It's shit

Batnipples.

Batwoman is a really shitty character, Yuri fag.

In the New 52 sure but she's done pretty well in Rebirth

So is Red Hood
So is Batgirl
So is Rocksteady Robin

Two out of those three aren't bad characters

I loved the game and rank it in my top 3 of 2015.

Didn't have issues with the batmobile either and actually enjoyed the tank battles. Plus if you consider the car as any other gadget for use in environmental puzzles, it doesn't bother you as much.

kek
>use mechanic
>unlock new place
>use another mechanic
>unlock more places
>use combinations of mechanics
isnt this like, game design

oh wait, you only play multiplayer games right?

Yeah but Batwoman is worse. Well maybe not worse than shitty Jason.
