So far it doesn't look so bad. Aside from all the ports. It still baffles me when there isn't MK8 and Smash HD at launch. But Nintendo is Nintendo I guess.

My guess it's to pad out the year with dips instead of a giant release all at once. Still thinking about it but if I do get it I will most likely will get it around when Splatoon comes out.

After the hype has fallen, yeah, the line-up isn't actually all that bad.

However, the prices for the late ports, peripherals, and (possibly) lackluster online service are not great.

>zero games aren't sequels, remakes or ports

>what is Snipperclips

>It still baffles me when there isn't MK8 and Smash HD at launch.
Because you're retarded?

Name a single console launch as insanely good as "New Zelda, Mariokart, and Smash all at launch". No, "this console was out in Japan for a year and by time it came to the US it had 3 good games" doesn't count.

where do you play arms 1?

What is ARMS

arms.yooka-laylee.project octopath.snipperclips

>>SON WTF ARE YOU TALKIG ABOUT?

I suppose over the year there will be "on the e-shop after this presentation" kind of announcements for smaller games.

Also there will probably be some big guns revealed during E3.

This launch isn't so impressive but I suppose they're doing just enough to sell through initial stock.

It doesn't look bad, but not really amazing either. Unless Splatoon 2 is really amazing, I probably won't buy the system before new Mario.

>So far it doesn't look so bad.

It does actually.
There's a fuck ton of ports there. Apart from Zelda there's nothing.

I can only see diehard Nintendo fanboys thinking that teh Switch is a good investment in 2017.

Picking up:
Zelda
Bomberman
I am Setsuna
Has Been Heros
MK8
Disgaea 5
Splatoon 2
Xeno 2
Ultra Sf2
Most of these I'll wait till pricedrop/sale.

oh shit, they are doing a constructor hd?

It's to avoid droughts. Launch with Zelda, then bring out ARMS, them MK8, then Splatoon, etc.

It makes it so that there will be new content every month or so. I think Nintendo is playing the long game with this one, getting it out early in the year for Nintendo die-hard fans, richfags, and people impressed enough with Zelda to buy a new system. Then entice the Splatoon-addicted Japs with Splatoon 2 in the summer, and then finally burst in with some heavy marketing during the holidays with Mario Odyssey. I think the marketing will be heavy at launch and then dip until the holidays, and they'll try to carry the momentum into the next year. That's just what it seems like given the lineup we've seen so far.

>NMH sequel in 2017
good joke

>Bomberman is $50
>Can't even run at 30fps stable

Fucking why?

I wouldn't call Mario Kart and Smash new senpai. It's not like they are remaking the game it's just a port with added DLC.

oh SHIT nigga, snipperclips, day one buy

go play your ps4 everywhere you go.
ops , you CAN'T

>Xenoblade 2
>NMH sequel (which doesn't even have a fucking name yet and is just a piece of concept art)
>2017

No

3 hour battery life. Great handheld

Technically it's not day one but at least it's in the same month, right?

>playing more than 3 hrs out from home

>Unknown Blazblue title

I hope they beat Senran Kagura to the punch and let me feel Makoto's underboobs through HD rumble

I don't get this battery life issue. Who plays a handheld for that long out of the house? And are there no outlets for you to charge anything in the country you live in?

Where the HECK are Fire Emblem Warriors and Takaki's game (Senran Kagura) on that list?

Yeah, no way either of these release in 2017, especially Suda51's game. He only just started development, and I'm pretty sure he's stated directly in interviews that it won't release this year.

Xenoblade 2 is very unlikely, but I won't say it's impossible. Assuming they have the engine and assets from Xenoblade Chronicles X I could see them being able to make this game in such short time. But we'll have to wait and see.

STILL BETTER THAN A PS4 HANDHELD.AT LEAST FOR 3 HOURS I CAN PLAY.YOU CAN'T

Meme all you want, but MK8D is the closest to an actual "sequel" the series has seen in well over a decade. We've been stuck in the loop of 32 tracks, and swapped content with things like battle mode getting removed one game and put back the next for kicks, on top of the obvious "50% of tracks are ALWAYS recycled from older games". Finally we have a Mario Kart with more than 32 tracks on the base game, and it's a fucking 50% increase at 48 karts. Yes, they were all on the WiiU version if you gobbled up the DLC, but I'd take 32 old tracks over 16 new ones any day. We aren't sacrificing ANYTHING, but we're gaining battle mode back, gaining new characters and karts on top of the DLC, and actually fucking progressing in game content.

Smash isn't even announced. I would be fucking ecstatic if they said "OK, it's the WiiU version with all the 3DS stages in there too, and all the DLC is built into the main game for free, and you also get Inklings as an exclusive character and Inkopolis as an exclusive level and a new Adventure mode (or whatever other mode Smash 4 skipped that people liked in the past)". That would be fucking amazing.

>There's a fuck ton of ports there
There's a fuck ton of ports in every console launch lineup. Friendly reminder that it took more than a year for Bloodborne to come out on the PS4, and before that there was hardly any decent exclusive.

When I go somewhere, it's not to play video games. Plus, I drive so commutes are out of the question. I have zero reason to own a handheld.

>literally the same battery life as 3DS

nice meme. I seem to remember 60M people that were completely fine with that battery even on a 240p console in 2017, so an HD console will do fine with a battery lasting that long.

It's 3 to 6, which is standard for handhelds. I know my 3DS and Vita do not last much longer than six hours without charging.

Also if you're that desperate you can get a battery pack.

I remember when people shit on the 3DS for it's poor battery life. Now I guess this shit is industry standard

Syberia 3 is listed twice, there's the logo in the 2017 section (right column) and "Siberia 3" in the TBA section (5th from last).

>completely fine with that battery

People shit on that 3DS battery life all the time early on, what are you talking about?

>I know my 3DS and Vita do not last much longer than six hours without charging

The difference between 3 and 6 is pretty big friend

It's not even a real argument, it's a retarded troll. There are going to be a few retards shouting "why didn't this HD handheld get a 10 hour battery!" as if that was remotely possible for a device this powerful and small, but you ignore them.

Anyone posting about it on Sup Forums is simply a troll. It's the same battery lasting power as a 3DS, on a console with something like 8X the resolution (from 240p to 720p in handheld mode). Nobody seriously complains about the 3DS, nobody will seriously complain about the Switch. People that want more will buy an extra USB-C wire and car charger or even just a fucking power bank, which any cheapo store will sell for $5 or less.

>Doesn't look that bad
>nothing but ports of games that came out over a year ago as far as they eye can see

First step is denial. See you at depression after launch.

what a sad life.you can't go to a park and while waiting your friend play some.
then, when your friend arrives, you can't play with him in local and....
OH WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT?PROBABLY YOU DON'T HAVE FRIENDS IRL, THAT'S WHY YOU HIDE INSIDE AND PLAY WITH YOUR PS4

Part of meant for

3DS is a 240p console. 3-5.5 hours for a 240p console is totally weak. 2.5-6 hours for a 720p console playing WiiU ports is actually fairly strong.

You see, there's a concept known as "power usage", where a stronger device will use more power. People in the industry understand that an HD console will use more power than a 240p console.

iPad Pro has a 10 hour battery life you mongoloid. OFC people are gonna expect better.

In fact, the newer the chipsets, the less power they consume. Only reason you're stuck with 3 hour average on most games is cause Nintendo jewed out on getting Pascal for this thing.

>as if that was remotely possible for a device this powerful and small

How about they don't make an "HD Handheld" and make an actual handheld with a competent battery life? It's not like they were made to make the thing like they did at gunpoint. It's underpowered if you look at it like a console, and has a poor battery life if you see it as a handheld

while gaming?i don't think so

>Cube Life: Island Survival
THE SWITCH IS SAVED
youtube.com/watch?v=pRj3gf_g7_s

>iPad Pro has a 10 hour battery life you mongoloid.
iPad Pro isn't a gaming device. If you just dick around with an internet browser and youtube on your switch, you'll be getting 6 hours or so easily (the 2.5 to 6 was confirmed for how long the system lasts during gameplay).

>How about they don't make an "HD Handheld" and make an actual handheld with a competent battery life?
How about you tell that to the hoards of "hahaha 720p haahaha it isn't a PS4 Pro on the go" retards?

6 hours while gaming.

>It's underpowered if you look at it like a console, and has a poor battery life if you see it as a handheld
It's both though. I'm going to use it like a WiiU at home, and as a way-stronger-than-Vita handheld everywhere else. The battery is basically industry standard, lasting as long as a 3DS or Vita despite drawing MUCH more power. Complain about home console power if you want, but 1080p 60fps Mario Kart, even during splitscreen, is all I really need out of a TV console's specs.

I believe you mean "angry birding", not "gaming".

While gaming what? Ports of games from two generations ago? Mobile crap? Card games? Visual novels?

>a literal minecraft clone in spring

Exactly.

Just the same as the Switch

>Nintendrones are ACTUALLY excited for Binding of Isaac, Skyrim, and Rayman Legends.

Welcome to 2013 drones.

>We still don't know in what year DQXI is gonna come out

>this scooter is too slow if you look at it like a car, and too expensive if you see it as a bike
>this tablet is too weak if you look at it like a laptop, and too cumbersome if you see it as a smartphone

>>Nintendrones are ACTUALLY excited for Botw, Splatoon 2, and Mario Odyssey (and the dozen other confirmed exclusives).

fixed

how big is tha expensive piece of plastic?
>>iPad Pro 12,9"
how big is nintendo switch screen?
>>switch 6,2"

OH GOD IPAD MUST BE MAGICAL!!IT HAS TWICE THE SIZE AND TWICE THE BATTERY AND TWICE THE DURATION!!REALLY MAGICAL!!!11!!!ELEVEN

>hardware shit
>overpriced
>no games
>paid online
>voice chat over phone
>etc.

>it doesn´t look bad

LMAO

>dozen other confirmed exclusives

Are we counting stuff like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Breath of the Wild as exclusive now?

can you play it on sony or microsoft?

>The Ipad battery lasts twice as long!
>Hmm... well it's twice the size, so they can afford a bigger battery, how much more does it cost for an Ipad now?
>pic related
>HAHAHAHAHA

You can play it on the Wii U for sure (which people who would preorder a new Nintendo console at launch probably already own)

It's not twice the size, have you ever left your basement?

you can play god of war 3 on the ps3 but still it counts like exclusive.
you can play gears of wars on the xbox360 but still it counts as exclusive on xbox one.

your point?

>apple product
have you gone insane?

>Super Bomberman R
>ARMS
>Splatoon 2
>Snipperclips
>FAST RMX
>Xenoblade Chronicles 2
>USF2 FC
>No More Heroes sequel
>Mario Odyssey
>Fire Emblem Switch 2018
>100% confirmed Pokemon title
>Seasons of Heaven

You don't need to include "definitive editions" like BOTW, Fire Emblem: Warriors (also on New 3DS at 240p!), or MK8D for the Switch to reach 12 exclusives.

exactly what i was sayin'
and has no joycon to play with.
and you can't play with split screen on local with a friend without buyin two extra controller.
and "CAN'T FIT IN MUH POCKET"

>you can play god of war 3 on the ps3 but still it counts like exclusive.

Wait what the fuck are you talking about? God of War 3 was exclusive because it was exclusive to the PS3

I'm not happy about paying for online. But you fucks add it to your check boxes like Nintendo is the only one doing it. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you have to pay for online in PS4 and Xbone? Mind you I am fully aware that they offer better incentives then the shit nindy is trying to pull.

but still it is ps4 exclusive.

>USF2 FC

Please tell me how it's any different from any of the other Street Fighter 2 HD games

>No More Heroes sequel

We have no idea if that's an exclusive, and it's extremely early on in development

source on story of seasons on switch?

>Please tell me how it's any different from any of the other Street Fighter 2 HD games
New characters, new options. It's an exclusive even if you nitpick it. Even just the hardware gives it exclusive features, the ability to bring the system to a friend's house and just play 1v1 with the system and the controllers it came with is a benefit.

>We have no idea if that's an exclusive, and it's extremely early on in development

Alright, but given what we know it'll be a Switch title 100%, and there's a good chance it's an exclusive.

>story of seasons
One google search

mynintendonews.com/2017/01/17/story-of-seasons-is-heading-to-nintendo-switch/

>From 599 for cheapest
Christ user, the fuq do you think you're doing?
The base model probably only has 16 GB. That's just fucked.

>New characters

Two recolors are not new characters

Tell that to Ken. Or half of the Mortal Combat cast.

they need to announce Monster Hunter 5 for Switch (not 3DS, not both, exclusive). if capcom is doing something stupid like making MH5 3DS only then Nintendo needs to throw whatever amount of money they need at them to make it switch exclusive.

>go play your ps4 everywhere you go.

Why would I need to do that?

I can't play when I'm in the car, I can't play at work, during lunch I eat and talk to my coworkers and when I get home I can play on my PC or console.

On plane trips I sleep. On shorter trips I just watch shows or movies on my phone (which takes up almost no space).

When would I possibly need a big portable device like the Switch with a 3 hours battery life?

Absolutely irrelevant. Switch competes with the current PS4 and Xbone.
Again, why get something that is overpriced and has no fucking games?

I hope E3 has info on octopath traveler becasue it looks like a nice old school rpg with some good pixel art.

what a sad life.you can't play anywhere.but you are not the only one in this world.there is people like me and others that likes to play when they are out.and if go to a party i can bring my switch and do games with other people.sad sad life you have

If anything, it motivates me to pick up the indie games I usually avoid on pc. It's too comfy.

now remove the ports and remakes like you do with Sony

>what a sad life.you can't play anywhere

More like I have no reason to play anywhere but at home. If you need to fill out your time when you're outside with videogames then you're the sad one.

Thank you for helping me decide. I will avoid the Switch.

>false flagging

ok.

Nobody cares.
