>Modern FPS's are better designed
>Well, why SHOULDN'T mobile be included as "things that make a gamer, a gamer"?
This one gets me the most.
>New Vegas is infinitely superior to FO4
That one always gets me
>Dark Souls 2 is the best game in the series
95% of the posts here
"Battlefront is good now."
>only x game is good, I'm a true fan of the franchise btw
No, you're a fucking hipster.
depends on what you're comparing. New vegas is the better RPG, hands down. FO4 has the benefits of being newer.
>I don't care.
This one makes me the maddest of all and anyone who expresses it needs to have the government ban them from indulging in any artistic medium
You prefer FO4?
>Halo Reach multiplayer was good
>This game sucks because it's just repetitive
Makes me pissed especially when said about Halo CE. If the core gameplay is fun, repetition of said fun is good. People who say this just don't realize that game in question isn't their cup of tea.
More like
>New Vegas is better than F1/F2
Skyrim is the best game ever made in the last decade
>I enjoy grinding.
No you don't. You're deluding yourself.
>if you dislike a game it's because you're bad at it
and all variations such as "[shit rank] detected"
>Linear 'course clear' 3D Mario (especially if they name 3D World) is better than open-area 'mission sandbox' 3D Mario (especially if they name Mario 64)
I do though. Sometimes it feels good to just zone out, listen to something on youtube and do some mindless easy shit. And, you get a reward at the end.
>It's my game, I get to play it how I want
>used as justification for cheating/hacking
I don't give a fuck what you do to ruin your own single player experience, but if you think that you should be allowed to play by different rules when competing against other people who have the game, just go ahead and off your parents and then yourself to ensure that your genetic line is permanently ended.
All video games are repetitive, this is the very nature of video games. It's only a problem if you don't actually like the repetitive thing that you're doing.
reee to this one
>so you just read text? That's not even a game
Both are fun in their own way. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, it's apples to oranges and a question of taste.
64 >3DW tho huehueuheuheuhuhehueuhe
This gets me, on about a weekly basis.
God damn mang.
Has a point. Grinding can be fun mang
>New Vegas is better than 3, therefore 3 is irredeemable garbage.
It's like working out, I don't particularly enjoy the process, but I enjoy the results. And the results would be less enjoyable if they were easy to get.
does anyone still say this beyond people trying to sell mobile games?
>japanese games are better than western
>Tank/Healer/DPS is the only way to build and play a MMORPG
How can these people say this with games with stat and skill allocation systems make it so you can solo play almost entirely?
Tlou and uncharted are good
>Western games are good
>its okay for an open world to be mostly boring nothingness because its realistic
Do something productive instead, loser. Learn a new skill, do some DIY shit, play an instrument.
>It's like working out
You make me laugh, user
fucking loser
>the Witcher 3 is the greatest game of all time.
My own personal negative feelings toward the game aside, it is far from the greatest. It wasn't even the greatest in 2015 alone imo.
It's not though. Making choices that influence the text you end up reading though, that can be a game.
>top 10 games of all time
>#1 is OoT
>There's no difference between lower and higher frame rate
>The Souls series is good because it's hard
>Older games are unplayable due to age
>Mass Effect 3's only problem was its ending, which wasn't that bad anyway
>Turn-based JRPGs are boring and unrealistic, everything should just be action
>Making a game open world is an improvement
>Resident Evil 6 isn't as bad as people say
>Paper Mario Sticker Star is good
>[GAME] is bad because the fan base is obnoxious
Just a couple off the top of my head.
Also, a more specific one that pisses me off is when people say there should be trigger warnings for LPs/gameplay footage of horror games. Motherfucker, it's a horror game goddamn it.
>"That's not realistic"
3 is fun, but the writing can seem pretty fucked at times
>Nintendo should die already
also skyrim has stood the test of time
>this game has this one thing, so therefore it is SJW/Alt-Right trash
I just fucking hate the implication that openness in a 3D game is bad. Yes, the VERY FUCKING DEFINITION of 3D, as in, another dimension added to your 2D game, is a bad thing.
The people who like linear 3D are people who would be better off playing 2D games, which are literally the same thing but a thousand times better, because the flaws of 3D (sometimes ambiguous directional input, potentially problematic camera) don't exist, and the graphics/gameplay/etc. are typically much tighter as a result. That these people continue to pollute the notion of 3D by suggesting that the entire fucking point of 3D (again, adding another dimension to the world) is a bad thing should all go neck themselves.
>strong female character = SJW shit
>game relies on story = lel movie not vidya
these two the most probably
Your opinion of that opinion makes me legitimately mad.
>advocates learning new skill, DIY shit, playing instrument
>in the same post, thinks the idea of someone working out is laughable
at least be consistent with your faggotry
>TLoU is a great game
Fucking amazed how anybody can think that. My theory is that people that claim this haven't ever played video games before.
rood :^(
#1 is tetris
I have fond memories of it. What made it bad in your opinion?
What would be better, user?
>30 fps is just as fine as 60, I don't see the difference
One of my friends swears that he can't notice the difference between 30fps and 60fps. Do people like this exist, or is he just being a retard? It's day and night for me and that drives me nuts
Fallout 4 ;^)
Grinding in a video game IS NOT like working out
wtf man
...
Maybe not an opinion necessarily, but a response that throws me into a fit all the time:
>It's a game with dragons and magic, it doesn't have to make sense.
Hey Todd!
if the game has shit gameplay and constantly intersperses it with cutscenes, and the cutscenes are the reason you play, then why the fuck would you subject yourself to the game? Literally watch someone else suffer through the gameplay on youtube.
>I dont care what anybody thinks of me, thats part of being an adult
Peope who don't see the difference don't game or are delusional
I don't see why mobile games shouldn't be considered real games.
Just because they're the most accessible doesn't make them not games.
>lol that game looks like kiddie shit
mature games mature gamers etc.
You are correct about all of these
The whole "Dark Souls 2 is the worst in the series" bandwagon. Idk, I really enjoyed it, and iirc I have more hours in that one than the other two games. The graphics aren't great, sure, but there's a ton of variety and fun to be had.

>"What do you mean I can't do this thing? I just play for fun"
posts like these:
it's true tho tbqh fambo
Bad maps, armor abilities, and bloom.
Honestly, that's one of the reasons why I fucking love The Last of Us Remastered. You can go into the options and instantly switch between 30 and 60 fps.
I showed my friend by switching between the two and moving the camera around. He immediately noticed the difference.
>Do something productive instead, loser. Learn a new skill, do some DIY shit, play an instrument.
You could say that about any video game, not just grinding.
It's a legitimate complaint.
If you don't like the art direction of a game you'd be less likely to play it.
>Better graphics means a better game
>oblivion is good
I've encountered this before. An older guy and a big RPG buff told me how he didn't take games seriously at all, but later bought a 360 and was amazed by the 'cinematic presentation' of fucking Oblivion. They're now a big bethy fan who plays every TES game.
There are certain games which are absolutely the epitome of entry level. I hate throwing that term around, but it really does exist; There are very popular games out there which people think are amazing until they actually play the really good games that aren't as popular, and realize how shitty the popular games actually are.
The scariest thing is that the surface-level people are more numerous and buy stuff more often, meaning actual quality is discouraged in the market over good advertising. Universal problem, but jesus does it blow when bad things get good press.
People have different interests, user. Vidya is a large enough umbrella to cover all sorts of games that many different people enjoy.
I'm not saying they're the same thing, I'm making an analogy. If you're upset about it, just explain why you think they aren't similar, and then I'll explain why you're wrong.
>inb4 you're too deluded for me to explain anything to you
The industry would be a lot more dull and boring without nintendo's (stupid) decisions, I don't wan't to see them gone
>jak II is good
>consoles didn't fuck up vidya
They fucked up FPS games, that's for fucking sure. Since controllers don't allow for fast paced FPS action, they had to slow shit down with cover and regenerating health bullshit.
>super paper mario was a good game
or
>super paper mario had a good story
neither of these are fucking true
This got me.
>The season pass will make it better.
you're too deluded for me to explain anything to you
enjoy grinding your life away, salty loser
>Bioshock Infinite is a good game
>people who won't play older games because of the graphics
"kiddie shit" is the timeless statement of a child who's afraid of being labeled as such. Insert forever-regurgitated fairytale quote from C.S. Lewis here.
Also sprinting was a mistake. Halo turned from a fun, aim/dodge intensive game where grenades are used to zone enemies out, to one where most fights are 2 players double meleeing each other from a sprint and both dying.
Not to say reach was shit, I had fun on it. But it was barely Halo, it was its own thing.
>old game doesn't play exactly like its modern successor therefore it's utter trash and the controls are """archaic"""
>It's a legitimate complaint.
People are allowed to not like how something looks but to say "hurr durr this video game isn't trying to look like a live-action movie therefore it's not good enough for my superior mature taste" is fucking ignorant.
>Other M is better than Prime
There are literally people on this board RIGHT NOW that think this
>Mat the NES Punk
Always was a shitter, always has been.
...
This. DS2 apologists are pathetic. The game is trash and filled to the brim with artificial difficulty.
but in the case I suggested, the actual game is NOT the reason it's being played, it's the movie parts. So I ask again, why not just watch it online? The shit gameplay means that watching it online is at worst on par with the experience of actually playing it.
Learning an in-game skill can be very impressive.
>Gta 5 is better than this game of a completely different genre.
I see this shit on youtube comments all the time, it just irritates me.
This mentality only becomes a problem when someone doesn't care what others think and also doesn't care what they think about themselves. You have to respect yourself as a person to keep yourself clean, presentable etc.
If you want to play video games in public because that's what you like, go the fuck ahead.
yeah I don't think so. Sup Forums is a contrarian paradise, 80% of users will say stuff like that just to get (You)s.
Sup Forums are good at games
