ITT: we lament dead franchises

>Ape Escape 4 never
>Trilogy remaster never
>Big Mission/Million Monkeys never
>Adaptions to other forms of media like a new cartoon or comics never
>2016 was the year of the monkey and ended with a reveal for Knack 2
>The last we've seen of Spike was a creepy model in a crappy crossover fighter
>60% of this platformer series is non-platformer games

RIP Shining Force
RIP FFT
RIP TO
RIP Front Mission
RIP Langrisser
RIP Growlanser
All dead or gone to shit.

RIP SRPGs. Only the shitty ones remain.

Remember skating games?

Yeah. I played around with the PS1 Tony Hawks a bit. Pretty neat to dick around in for a while but not really my thing.

I had more fun with Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future. Which is another series that qualifies itt.

JSR was good too, really good art style

What about Heretic?

>Raven software is stuck on COD

RIP Guild Wars

Remember Blood?

Hey guys, remember me?

Why did it die, did Nintendo had some silly idea about what it was like "it's FE with guns and tanks"?

I don't think it was ever that popular and I'm pretty sure that Days of Ruin sold pretty poorly to boot.
It was more balanced, yeah, but it was also pretty grimderp and I missed how silly the earlier AWs were.

That game seemed cool, GBA was like my favorite handheld ever

It's a really solid TBS and can be pretty hard.
Getting through the AW1 Hard Campaign is something I still take pride in.
Guess it lacked marketable waifus or something.

Here's some music

Do people who liked the FE girls even play their games or just happen to pick Lucina or Robin in Smash?

Considering the sales of Awakening?
They bought the game alright.
It almost definitely saved FE from AW's fate, but it also split the fanbase and made normal discussions almost impossible nowadays.

Remember Ristar and Earthworm Jim?

I hate it when a series tries to forget its audience that helped it grow just to focus on a different audience.

Ape Escape was dead anyay

No, shut up

Pecunia non olet.
The old fanbase apparently did not spend enough money, the waifu-crowd does.
Considering they're gonna release a FE Mobile, complete with gacha and the option to pay to roll the gacha more often, I know where we're going.
At least the FE Gaiden remake looks pretty good. If whales playing the mobile game help fund better mainline games, I think I'll have to accept it as a necessary evil.

Leave it dead user. If you bring it back it will be but a Specter of its former self.

You do not return from the other side without losing a part of yourself.

Thinking about, what if Sony made a mobile AE but it was based on the mainlines series?

I'd class that as "worst case scenario".

I fear it would be unrecognizable.
Remember the backlash Mario Run got when people heard you had to pay 10 bucks for the full game?
Because while it might not have been an amazing game, you did get a full game for 10 bucks.
So I'd estimate the chances of Sony doing something similar are low, if only to avoid that backlash.
Instead it'd probably have microtransactions out of the ass and/or stupidly intrusive ads.

AE might very well be better off dead.

I guess, it still less worse than Spike/monkey in Skylanders, pachinko or a reboot where Spike gets a dreamworks face and monkeys look like those smiling happy meal boxes from McDonalds.

Yeah I agree actually. I'm not a big fan of mobile games but if I was true to classic style it would be better than the other horrors you mentioned.

Kinda wish some fans made some sort of plan to make the series more noticed, whether it's a nice fanmade project or spamming Sony's accounts and livestreams with "remember Ape Escape" and going to live events to yell about the series.

Not exactly dead, but I just want Parappa the Rapper 3 and Um Jammer Lammy 2.

I also pictured Gravity Rush being inspired by InFamous and MediEvil by Skyrim

Too bad the VA is an asshole

Let's also not forget Vib Ribbon

Here's something worth never forgetting

How do you guys feel about Duke Nukem?

I wish the rights were in basically any other company's hands.

I heard GB may go under someday

It wouldn't surprise me, but you do realize that they'll probably milk everything they have to the absolute maximum before that happens, right?

They need to die as soon as possible, fuck

I certainly won't argue against that.
