Overwatch cost money with low mechanical skill. So you can very easily play both even if you want to git gud as much as possible with Tf2.

Tried TF2 years ago. All I remember is constantly dying, people having upgrades that were locked behind pay wall and way not. Not my thing.

Hard counters, not allot to get better at with heroes due to being mechanically dumbed down, everyone moves at the same pace, ults are fucking huge and hard to miss with, the only skill comes from teamplay and even then that shit gets samey due to metas.

ults dont reset upon death. in tf2 every buildable charge ability will reset on death. self inflicted damage is also higher but yields more maneuverability, IE soldier rocket jumping compared to pharah kinda shooting the ground with the knock back thing.

A decade of added shit will do that to a game. Just wait for Overwatch's incessant updates to "keep it alive".

Still a mediocre team-based shooter. I'll play the same game for free rather than shelling out $40 which could buy me several deals of better games.

Achievement items have to be unlocked via class mile stone achievements if that's what you mean. Everything else can be gotten from drops or crafting.

Overwatch is pretty much the shallowest FPS in the history of mankind and I'm not even exaggerating.
Each character is extremely limited and once you learn what each button does there's pretty nothing else to learn, the only difference between a bad and a good player is how many headshots you can hit and even that is severely limited since the characters are ridiculously slow and hitboxes are ridiculously big.

It's just a casual game for casuals, it's not meant to have depth.

Stock is objectively superior in almost all situations...

I enjoy TF2 more.

All that's required for TF2 to "win" this stupid contest is for valve to pull their thumb out and squish dumb crap like the beggars and put an actual team behind the game, not a skeleton crew. But it's Valve so never ever.

Most weapons are sidegrades at best with only a select few being almost straight upgrades like the Degreaser, I don't understand what you mean by "break the game".

That's the majority of your team though. When you kill a spy with a dead ringer and you know he's a dead ringer, but your team is too retarded to see it, you pretty much have to play babysit half the game if he's a semi-competent player. Or having to deal with Scouts who easily run by you with Bonk! because again, your team is too dumb to pay attention. Shit like that is annoying and makes your already dumb team even worse to play with. It's part of why people prefer lone-wolf "team" shooters like Call of Duty.

I wouldn't mind OW discussion if it actually had good, lasting gameplay.
I preordered it and I'm kinda sad that I got bored of it so quickly, faster than any other FPS I played.
What Blizzard aimed for is just too obvious to me, they went for "game feel" and skinner box-style gameplay rather than a solid, skill-indexed shooter with depth and that bothers me.
