Will this be GOTY?

Will this be GOTY?

it will be forgotten

>modern Bioware game
>GOTY

Take a wild guess, OP.

No

I'm sure someone will give it a GOTY award. Probably Polygon.

>modern
Bioware has always been shit. Same with Bethesda.

I was hoping for mass effect to regain its former glory but everything they've showed for me andromeda leads me to believe they are going full Fable

garbage of the year? sure

Were you dropped on your head as a child?

if that means Garbage of the Year then yes

DA:I was GOTY and it was trash.

Possibly. I haven't heard of any other upcoming game, save Zelda, that people are increbly excited for

Absolutely not. DO NOT buy this garbage.

>Viral marketing can't be effectively dealt with without also opening the gateway for censorship and illegal opinions

Is it a worthy compromise, Sup Forums? Would you want this shit banned--no more "Horizon Zero Dawn vs Zelda" threads, no more "Random AAA game that literally nobody cares about, will it be GOTY?" threads, no more AAA garbage in general.

Would Sup Forums be a better place?

not with the new Red Dead Redemption coming out this year

Cutscene filled waifu sims are all the rage nowadays.

2015 and 2016 prove this.

RDR2 will be coming out and hopefully will live up to its predecessor and move away from this trend.

With some exceptions, it's next to impossible to distinguish between somebody legitimately trying to start a discussion or state their opinion and somebody who is actually paid to advertise video games.

What do you propose to ban? Positive opinions of popular / big budget games? This is the video games board, not the indie game / smaller studio circlejerk board.

Depends whether or not they still have enough cash to buy out some awards like they used to.

Either way I'm sure they'll call some friends at Kokaku and the like, so it'll win a few.

Since the media is gradually getting more and more out of touch with the general public anything is possible I guess. I'm sure EA has some spare millions that it generally flushes down the marketing drain.

No Sup Forums will jack themselves off over something else

what's coming out this year?

>it's next to impossible to distinguish between somebody legitimately trying to start a discussion or state their opinion and somebody who is actually paid to advertise video games.

That's not true at all, viral marketers don't know anything about videogames aside from what their employers tell them to say, and they resort to bullying as a defense when this is brought into question. If this isn't a viral marketer, it's a shitposter, who deserves to be banned.

In addition to that, a viral marketer couldn't express a nuanced opinion about just about any game. They can't express their concerns, they can't make any valid points as to why certain games are good nor bad, they don't know a thing about polish. If this isn't a viral marketer, it's a 12 year old who's too young to be on this site, or it's someone who cares so little about videogames that they shouldn't even be on a board dedicated to them. Both of these deserve to be banned.

So, you're suggesting we ban people who don't articulate their thoughts or explain their opinion well? You'd have to ban almost everyone in this thread.

Explain to me how this is a bad thing.

Most of the people in this thread haven't been challenged. Obviously, if you just state an opinion, that's fine--but if someone challenges your opinion, you are obligated to defend it.

That should be the consequence of simply posting, it's a system that discourages shitposts and encourages quality discussion.

Not even Sup Forums can think normies are delusional enough to consider this GOTY.

Who determines what is or isn't a well thought-out or well-explained opinion? Some things are clear, but where's the line drawn?

If you make a post, and it gets responded to, and you don't reply, you should be banned? Imagine for a second if that were actually implemented and enforced 100% of the time.
