I'm enjoying it immensely, I don't think I've liked a tales game like this in over 10 years.

Building up edge to murder Griffith with since Dragonslayer is too big.

Already tried it, didn't get the combat at all or what the fuck was going on. People said that it's just a cut from the game and that you're overleveled or something like that.

I haven't played any other tales game, how is it to newcomers?

Why do people even cry about Denuvo.

It all gets cracked eventual or goes on sale for 15-30$.

If you acualy believe as a pirate that you are entitled to pirating a game day one than you are the worst scum imaginable.

If i could i would make a protection system that last exactly 1-2 years for each game made.
And is completely uncrackable and unbypasable.
And it automatically deactivates itself after 1-2 years making the game DRM free essentially.

And i pirate 99% of all my games.
And i only do it because i live in a country that has a shit economy and one 60$ game is 50% of my cash left over after i pay all my bills and living costs.

I can see it being confusing as fuck if you're not used to Tales games. They just thew you into a part with everything going on all at once.

Starting fresh will be much better, as you build up Artes and figure out combos that you like and work great.

Looking forward to being lazy as fuck and playing this all weekend. Really liked the Demo and haven't played a Tales game in ages since going full PCFat.

I'm not here to bitch about Denuvo or censorship desu. I'm here to see the goings on regarding this game mostly. I know someone will eventually crack the Denuvo on it and restore what was censored, so why bother complaining.

The manual placement of basic arts onto 4 keys confused me at first, but that just means you no longer need to hold arrows and mash buttons.

What really changed is now all the enemy weakness moves are no longer setup for you, you need to manually check the enemy, goto arts, set moves in some effective order against them yourself. The manual system is giving me Neptunia nightmares.

Why the fuck does hitting enemies in this game give me no stagger whatsoever? These assholes are always guarding or "resisting". I get adjusting Velvet's artes so you're handling different situations better, but it doesn't seem like I'm doing much.

For the intent of the demo, just mash the X button, seriously. Otherwise setup moves for enemy type and element weaknesses. Like past games, hitting the weakness does what it should.

Are you changing Artes for every single enemy encounter? I can see doing it for bosses, but against normal dudes seems like a waste.

I just tried this on some of the cactus/spider monsters in the cave where Eizen joins your party and these little bastards were not letting me combo them at all, even when I had their weaknesses covered.

I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong here. I mean, I destroyed them with everybody's help, but I can't get Velvet combos going without her R2 for the life of me.

I can't stand anymore games that begin being about vegeance, and in the end, the MC forgive the person that they want vegeance from.

This will problably decide if I will or won't play the game.

It's similar. You still end up having an inventory full of garbage equipment with semi-random effects on it.

I'm really like it so far! Put about 7 hours in yesterday and I really like the cast. Gameplay got better once I got a hang of it but I really don't like when I have 3 or less souls and can't seem to get anymore during a boss so I get fucked and lose my rhythm

Is there a way around this? what are all of the ways to get souls?

There are probably other ways but I forgot them

Also you can raise your Soul Gauge limit up to 7 souls thanks to equipment bonus I believe.

All my options currently @13 hours in the game. Character switching is probably the best source I've gotten for gaining souls in succession without any thinking.

How do I have fun with this game?
Everything is so HP-spongey. Enemies just kind of stand there for 3-6 seconds before either pulling out some lightning fast attack that is going to stun/status you and put you at 2 souls and take away any fun you could ever have, or have some big long windup attacks where they just spaz in and out of hitstun wildly during and you never know when it's actually going to come out.
When it isn't either of those it's a big slow never-gonna-hit-you instagib move that just nails one of your NPCs.
And then when you actually do just start dodging things (and still taking 1 damage because ??????) they don't turn into soul diamonds most of the time after the first. And when they do, the soul is all the way the fuck-ass over there and Magilou cunts over and steals it.
Applying status is so fucking shaky.
Bosses take like 10 minutes of whacking with the same combo to go down.
The only fun enemies are the swarms of exorcists. Those are great, and feel right to beat the hell out ofl. You just always have souls, and always have options available to you. It's nice. I like having options and blowing things up with Velvet.
I was having a good enough time up until the beach areas before the water temple, which is full of exorcists, but I just lost all will to keep playing at once.

Demo felt like it was just mashing, it feels very dumbed down coming from Xillia 2.

Most of your complaints seem to boil down to you failing to dodge and getting punished for it. I agree that losing 1 HP on a perfect dodge is retarded but it's a non-factor anyway. The AI in this game is perfectly adept at surviving.

You should be relying on crits, killing enemies, and BG actions for Soul. Dodging works but is unreliable. If you do get hit and are low on souls character switch, the mechanic exists for a reason.

If you think bosses are HP sponges you need to work on optimizing your damage output be it through your actual gameplay or crafting better equipment.

I've had nothing but problems from Amazon in 2017. Has this happened to any other Anons?

I like it a lot, there's a lot of high risk high reward mentality to the combo system that makes it fun to get a good combo going.

You're probably out of soul gauge. You're more easily deflected and deal less / no hitstun if you're out of juice. Hitting an enemy's weakness first keeps the combos going longer once you're out, however.

But the censorship consists only of one shitty scene.
