How come Tekken isn't afraid to be anime and Japanese while SF tries hard as fuck to be western and look like a Saturday Morning Cartoon?

Street Fighter is popular in America, Tekken is popular everywhere else.

You are comparing a game that's played to a game that's not.

>Tekken
>Popular
Maybe in South Korea

Tekken is crazy popular in Europe and Asia

Capcom wants SF to be an esport so they bend over to appease all the normalfags.

street fighter has always been goofy and cartoony, why do fags think it was ever a serious series

Tekken is massive in the UK

tekken has sold more copies than street fighter

sad but true

Did her face get fatter too?

Yes, she's engorged with blood.

Nope, that's false and you know it.

She's not the only thing that is.

>37mil franchise total sales for Street FIghter

>44mil franchise total for Tekken

and this is coming from a faggot who grew up plaing street fighter and kof and has never ever played a tekken game

ops, seems I looked at the numbers for Resident Evil for some reason.

>doesn't know Tekken Tag Tournament was the most popular fighting game of sixth gen
Now you know.

I live in England, and can verify nobody remotely gave a shit about SF until 4 here. You might've seen an SF2 machine around occasionally but they weren't usually busy. Tekken was huge though, especially T3. Everyone I knew played it.

Because there was no street fighter during the sixth gen, and it was also a launch title for the PS2.

Because tekken devs are fags.

Capcom's fighters have always leaned more toward western cartoon looks. I mean, look at Darkstalkers. It's practically Looney Tunes.

yeah, here in brazil the big 3 are street fighter, kof and mortal kombat

both mortal kombat and strreet fighter got extremely popular with the super nintendo

kof got popular because of arcades and neogeo emulators

>Kof being popular in south america
That's something i always asked myself

bullshit even SCV sold more than TTT2, the tekken game that had every character

Asked yourself what?
KoF got a big jump in popularity in South America because KoF cabinets were considerably cheaper than SF cabinets, so they had a heavy population in the arcades.

It's always been the poor man's SF, which is why it rose to the popularity it did.

Mortal Kombat was quite big here. I think part of Street Fighter's problem is that Nintendo didn't do well here until the Wii era, and Sega/Sony's always been popular. Most people started with tekken on PS1 then looked for an arcade once they knew what they were doing, not the other way around. SF was in arcades but everyone turning up already decided how they were spending their money.

Same thing here in Scandinavia.
I think it's because arcades never got big over here and Tekken is easier to just pick up and have fun with.

TTT2 was a commercial flop, but the series overall was more successful that SF. Tekken 3 alone was a massive success for the series.

Dude A lot of normies like Tekken for some reason.
Eveyone i knew that had a PS1 back in the day had Tekken 3
