It's shit.
I haven't played it though.
2017 goty
best horror game since 2002
It's shit. But the kids and paid shills will love it. Just like every other modern game.
By the way it plays you can see that it's heavily focused on the VR and playing it is basically playing a shitty horror game with a bunch of jumpscares.
Playing it without VR*
It's really good.
I haven't played it though.
It's okay.
I haven't played it though.
i saw two seconds of the pewdiepie let´s play of this horror shit and immediatly lost all interest to play, buy or discuss it.
played for an hour
it's got a good blair witch vibe going on with the dilapidated home so far
>mfw playing this game on filthy casual mode (easy)
and yet am getting killed left and right and stuck on the boss battle. and 3 handgun rounds and 2 shotguns rounds with one first aid
Why is it shit?
is it because it's 10 hours? I'm actually curious, this is the first re since 3 that we get something even remotely good
It's RE1 but in first person and for the "new millenium"
It takes heavy inspiration from American horror films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw. But it's still absolutely a legitimate Resident Evil game.
You explore a big mansion, you collect specific keys to open up new places. There's boss fights and basic enemies, lots of lore/story to be had when reading various items. Safe rooms and stupid puzzles are back and feel good. The design of the mansion is such that you do feel the need to check the map sometimes to figure out where you're going Boss fights are pretty good aside from a particular one early on. Tapes are fun diversions and always welcome.
Enemy variety isn't huge, but you can tell memers haven't played the game because there's a distinct variation in the Molded enemies.
It's good, maybe even great. But you can tell Capcom gutted it for DLC shit. There's no unlockable extra modes and some of the DLC sounds like it should have just been part of the main game.
> a bunch of jumpscares.
Posts like these are exactly the kind of shit you should ignore. Anybody mentioning Outlast as anything other than a minor influence in parts of the game is also fucking retarded.
Nobody is obliged to enjoy it, but you should watch out for retards who spew on and out about jumpscares/VR/outlast/LPs and Streamers
It was pretty good up untill the ship, then it took a massive nosedive.
How much did they pay you to copypaste this?
the game is really short. i pretty sure someone has already completed it just under 2 hours for just speed running through everything, but for me am taking my time and going through everything to find every item and coins to unlocks upgrades
Literally nothing.
Get the fuck out if you can't handle it.
Try Lucas's funhouse. It got terrible there.
do you think the ship is an umbrella ship?
There's an achievement for beating it in 4 hours.
10 hours for a regular playthrough seems fine though. Horror games that drag on for too long just get boring.
Pretty sure it's a regular ship that Umbrella just used to transport Eveline.
Silent hill never felt like this.
It's designed for VR and takes cues on modern western type gaming. Most RE titles are short and relies on multiple scenarios and playthroughs to unlock everything. At least that's what the classic RE games did.
Which Silent Hill takes longer than 10 hours to beat on average?
>game is short af
>game isnt immediatly cheaper
why shills even defend this, lower the prices and its all good
>there's a distinct variation in the Molded enemies.
>normal
>crawling
>big
Huge variety.
>It's designed for VR and takes cues on modern western type gaming
It's really not, VR feels tacked on, if anything. It controls the way it does because it tries to mimic the way early Resident Evil games played, while being in first person.
>Most RE titles are short and relies on multiple scenarios and playthroughs to unlock everything. At least that's what the classic RE games did.
So does this one.
>First person shooter with an emphasis on immersing you in the character and the environment
>Can't use iron sights to aim, instead a reticle pops up
why tho
>lower the prices
oh look another poor fag
10/10 with the SEAL OF BADASS GAME!!!
How literally underaged are you required to be to actually like this trash?
What a batshit retarded direction to take the series.
Yeah, taking it back to the way it was when the series was good? What were they thinking?
Streamer and youtube bait. I honestly ended up watching it myself lol, its free. I can't complain, saved money
Just finished my first play through. I did the whole thing in VR, and it was fucking awesome. It was a little over 10 hours to beat. Now I want to do another run without VR just to see how different the experience is.
how much did capcom pay you joe?
>Fat
>Legless Crawler
>Quadruped Crawler
>Big Arm
>Generic
I've counted roughly 5 so far. That's plenty without getting too crazy. Revelations 1 had about the same amount of variety in it's basic Ooze enemies.
7/10 for me
>Sup Forums desperately trying to make a good game sound bad
Colour me surprised
Finished the Chainsaw encounter and stopped for work.
So far it's a 10.
I'm not sure if I like it more than REmake but I'm shocked that I can even hesitate at that decision so far.
That will ultimately come down to how replayable the game is, and in that regard I have my doubts.
Incredible so far though.
They have absolutely no arguments.
>It's an Outlast clone!
>It's a P.T. cash-in!
>It's an Amnesia knockoff?
>It's just copying Alien Isolation!
>Blah blah Evil Dead, hillbillies, Texas Chainsaw Massacre
>If you like it you're a shill!
None of which actually say anything, all of which indicate someone who hasn't played the game.
Toasterfag here
How does the game run compared to the teaser/demo? I could run that fine, but I'd imagine full game has more spacious locales and more going on
It seems fine for now just came to boss 2.
The game seems to be inspired by Alien Isolation or the likes of amnesia, typical fps horror.
Dunno if it gets better or worse but one never knows with these kind of fps horror games.
Just like Bad Company 1 with the SMGs, Carbines, and Shotguns.
It feels like Condemned with less intricate gameplay.
Doesn't help the main character's named Ethan too.
It seems to be a replay game. Since there is trophies to finish the game on several conditions. Like only using the itembox 3 times that is in every safespot, or under 4 hours.
Holy shit this.
You were so fucking close Capcom, but fuck, that endgame.
YOU ALMOST FUCKING HAD IT.
Fellow toasterfag, it runs so well that I'm convinced RE Engine is a modified MT Framework.
It's like they gave up
I just finished it. It stays pretty consistent throughout.
It basically breaks down as
1st act: horror
2nd act: puzzles
3rd act: action
This is the only comparison that has any merit.
What happened?
i like the first half, it's really good. as soon as you enter lucas' party the game goes to shit.
i never get it. why is chris with umbrella at the end
Dr. Ethan...
7.5/10.
His cousin with the same name used for shock value I bet cause he doesn't look like Chris at all
Dr. Biohazard, I'm Redfield.
>10 hours
Kek, my time,
It's HUNK
how the fuck
3rd part of RE1 and RE2 is all action too.
>G. Launcher with normal, acid and the other type
>Shotgun
>Pistol
>Magnum
Even REmake turns into a cakewalk.
>mfw hunk will never get his own RE game
There's 2 fucking hours of scripted events alone there's no fuckin way
He has ptsd from all the roids and zombies with machine guns, so his head is a little screwy.
>Easy
>Deliberately avoiding the destructible bobbleheads
This is not your first run
Mediocre, but crapcom's paid shills on Sup Forums are tiresome. Poor man's Condemned 3 including tar monsters.
>easy
that's explains the 2 hours. fucking casaul
>Almost no files despite them being everywhere
>Every single coin
>No Mr.Everywheres despite two being in plain view at the start of the game
>Easy
Looks like a speedrun
Whoops, meant for that dude
I've got a 760 and for some reason the demo runs like shit but the game runs amazingly
I dunno which part I'm inn but my guess it would be horror or puzzle.
that boss where you use the flamethrower, should you just shotgun her pussy or flamethrow that pussy?
Redfield is my waifu/10
Is this a zombie game or what
RE7's highs are GOTYAY, which is why its lows sting so fucking badly.
Like holy shit this game could have been right up there with REmake if it didn't have some serious fucking dips at the end.
It's good. The parts with Jack are amazing though.
>mfw chainsaw duel
I just lit that bitch on fire
Kinda pisses me off it's uroboros-like monsters again. They were shit in 5, but it was the theme so okay. Should have thought about something good for this one though or gone back to basics.
>Well look who finally came out of his room!
well said!
It's flawed, but ultimately I feel like it's a step in the right direction. It's not super scary, but it's refreshing to have a horror game with actually compelling gameplay as opposed to hide n seek simulator 2017.
Ultimately I want to see it succeed because Capcom is clearly fucking trying to appeal to classic fans, here. The whole game is a response to complaints that they're tired of action horror and want something more like RE1.
It's the best Evil Dead game we never got.
is it honestly this short? by way of it being like a speed-run-incredibly-linear kind of way? or because there is so little game time? or were you intentionally attempting to bypass everything to reach the skeletal game play length...
I honestly want to play it bad just for the TD vibe, though im a total bitch when it comes to horror games.
I keep hearing Outlast Outlast everywhere and I find it disappointing
Its a parasite ghost that causes people to act like crazy diseased humans while also being able to control plants and create Uroboros shenanigans like Uroboros Rengerators.
Some done it even faster already.
youtube.com
GROOVY!
It's really good, it just needs to be longer. If the only complaint I have is that it's too short I guess it's a good thing I want more of it.
As it stands not really worth 60 bucks.
Got my code for 25 and I feel it was worth.
>Ethan has no head
BOO
We had someone who got the game earlier with Madhouse already unlocked that beat it in just under 6 hours his first time through about a week ago when everything was leaking.
>The guy wants you to think the game is bad by proudly showing he paid 60 bucks for a 2 hours game.
Great senpai. Nice argument, was being a cuck part of the plan ?
I don't believe that you can find all antique coins without a guide in 2 hours. It's a second run for sure. + "Easy"
NICE CAR, ETHAN!
>actually has a full animation set
Gotta say I'm pretty impressed capcom.
>with Madhouse already unlocked
How?
Deja Vu/10
How can they make a first person horror game without zombies if they're so iconic, especially since it's under a RE title
It's an instant buyer's remorse for me.
>beat the game in under 7 hours first time through
>game isn't that scary apart from a few jump scares
>first person shooting is generic, Ethan has no fucking character
>enemies are about as varied as the religious population in Iran
>puzzles are lame
>have to beat the game a second time under Madhouse difficulty just to unlock infinite ammo, which is retarded because by the time I go through all that shit and die a hundred times over I'll never want to look at the game again anyway
This game is better than RE 6,but that's not saying much.
It is not like Outlast after the first 30 minutes.
After the intro, it is very core Resident Evil, albeit with somewhat similar puzzles.
There's combat, there's emblem keys, safe rooms, and beyond the poster characters there are enemies that you can kill or evade in tight spaces.
The only blemish is that they somehow felt like the Broken Shotgun thing needed to be done again.
Pointless.
You get it on your first run if you pre-order.
Honestly though I'm kind of regretting pre-ordering it for madhouse. Didn't get burned or anything the game's good- but now I kind of want to replay it and I've already done so on max difficulty.
MIA IS A BITCH
For those that pre-ordered certain editions Madhouse is unlocked from the start.
