Armored Core
Snake on my blackberry had better music than this edgy sweat secretion of a game.
chrono trigger, easily
I love yoko, but chrono cross if I had to be honest.
unless you can name a better soundtrack than the Dead Sea, and Dragon's Prayer, because you cannot.
Castlevania
KH has shit music
There's Dearly Beloved, the Utada songs, and maybe 1 or 2 other songs, like the staff rolls.
Otherwise, the series has shit music, m8.
blatantly untrue. if you don't like dearly beloved, disappeared, and rage awakened then you have shit taste
>tfw Kairi never goes barefoot in any game
JUST
>Lazy Afternoons
>At Dusk I Will Think Of You
>Vector To Heavens
>Simple And Clean Instrumental
>Even After
There is much more user, just broaden you mind :^)
>Simple And Clean Instrumental
That's an Utada song, son.
And no, fuck this series. It's for hambeasts and special needs children.
oh shit, now that's a game i haven't heard or seen anything about in a long as fuck time
It was surprisingly good and underrated as all fuck
Never played chrono cross, but that has even better music.
The whole HL series did have some pretty GOAT tunes I'll give you that. But I still think KH is best.
Why can't more games have shit like this instead of the hundredth "le ebin orchestra" soundtrack?
yeah Chrono Trigger does have fucking amazing music aswell
honestly i think the music of both games are on a near identical level in quality but KH for me still wins out slighty
>Strider defense on Hard
>Last Legs starts playing
Not enough games have Kelly Bailey composing them
youtube.com
HL1>HL2
Final Fantasy
Nier
If we're talking music I might have to disagree with you there. HL2 brings back the best of HL1 alongside even better tracks
I meant overall
KH series has top tier music but lets not start a fight. We should be celebrating great music.
Gust Games
Bomberman Games
Kirby Games
Streets of Rage Games
FF games
Senran Kagura games
Shantae & Mighty Switch Force games
etc. etc.
A bigger challenge would be to name a western game series with good music. Aside from Wayforward.
for me the difference is that the general quality of chrono trigger songs is slightly better than kh but if you only look at the top three songs or so from each game then kh would win
Try asking a hard question next time
well that doesn't make sense at all now does it user
FF music is like if you took KH music and you made everything about ever so slightly worse
>Kurzweil Synth Samples: The Game
A good way to carbon-date your media for the late 90's to early 2000's. Windwaker was notorious for this too.
JET SET RADIOOOOOOOOOOOO
That I'll agree on but I still love HL2 and its EPs. Episode 2>Episode 1 though, easily.
Actually good western music has already posted. Wayforward music is mostly shit outside of Double Dragon Neon.
>Episode 2>Episode 1 though, easily
People think differently?
2.8 any good or worth skipping? Thinking of getting it or berseris
ooh love me some streets of rage.
I won't argue that its great from a music standpoint, but the score in the first few halo's really meshes well with the action
Are you fan of the series? Do you want to keep up with it? If the answer to either of those is no then you should move it along
I've had some people say so. I thought 1 was great but 2 really blew it out of the water.
Sonic
Ys
Zelda

16 bit era had amazing western music.
>Wayforward music is mostly shit outside of Double Dragon Neon.

Kaufman can do no wrong.
If you like and keep up with KH no, if you don't care much then yes.
oh well damn i have the exact opposite
I think the very best songs of Chrono Trigger are actually better then the very best KH songs
I just think that Kh makes up for it by it's more "just another run of the mill fight" themes being better
>I've had some people say so.
They were probably waifufags
different guy but i played one and two when they came out but nothing since. I intend to get 3 when it comes out. the story is a clusterfuck and i have no illusions about trying to comprehend it. from a game standpoint though is it good, or just wait for three?
Halo
desu, FFXV has the best music I've heard in vidya since PS2 era
It's not for people looking to jump on, get the 1.5+2.5 collection in march if you're looking to jump into it again then grab 2.8. The gameplay is a lot different from 1 and 2
Meltan

For every good KH song there are like 5 Bustin' Up on the Beachs, which are just reminiscent of Shimomura's past, superior work
I can't think of a single bad song in the series, guess you're right.
You should at least play ReCoM and BBS, 2.8 is just the 3DS game, like one stage that's a prequel to 3 (the .2 part), and a movie to explain why the mobile game matters
You have shit taste.
One day
We'll know what the fuck Kingdom Hearts is
youtube.com
KH3 is gonna have a hell of a soundtrack
Elder Scrolls
Oblivion had the best soundtrack ever made
>A bigger challenge would be to name a western game series with good music
Easy, Diablo before 3
I haven't beat a KH yet, but hearing Dearly Beloved always makes me near tear up a bit, especially the live orchestral version.
It's such a beautiful track.
The Kingdom Hearts OSTs in general are amazing at tugging at heartstrings and evoking nostalgic emotions.
The whole atmosphere the series achieves with its music just awakens the spirit of my childhood every time I listen to it.
>everything Shimomura will make will now sound like FFXV
fucking fantastic, people hate the music in that game for no good reason and now they get to deal with it tainting their nomuracuck games
Halo 3 had a really good theme, I think it was called Believe or one last stand iirc.
It was the one that had a piano in its melody
Speak English you fucking weaboo
That's some pretty shit taste you got there.
Ace Attorney
Sonic
Final Fantasy (Crystal Chronicles series especially)
Charles Barkley Shut Up And Jam
youtube.com
>jajajaja
Care to point out where you got lost, user?
Guy who asked original question here, thanks. I loved 1 and almost finished 2 but that's it.
What about berseria?
I haven't played Tales of game so I can't help there, sorry.
Truly amazing music. The pinnacle for the series by a long shot...
what's wrong with this exactly? it's a great cover and fits the theme of the game pretty well
Most people are saying Berseria is pretty good, and the easiest way to look at this is whether you'd want a 20 someodd hour 3DS port plus some bonus content or a full-fledged action JRPG with an arguably cuter gril than Agua
I can name an entire genre: Rhythm games.
shitty western pop does not fit in with Final Fantasy.
>muh dragonball chiptunes
Fuck off.
>getting passive aggressive over a cover of a song being present in a game
I'm sorry, were you trying to make a point? I'd rather have that than something gratingly obnoxious like Eyes on Me or Suteki Da Ne ever again
Ahh someone's upset
Final Fantasy VIII
Say what you will about the game but even the most avid haters agree the music is good
>a cover of Stand By Me
>shitty pop
I guess so, are you gonna turn super saiyan now?
I don't think it's the best FF soundtrack, but it's definitely up there
youtube.com
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

...
Nah Dragonball is pretty dumb imo

This an original song made for the game, retard.

Yikes. Shit taste my man.

I really hate how much I like the music from this game
And it's a shitty pop ballad, and also in an FF game
Imagine that
Those are mediocre, and most are much worse
AC games are objectively better without music anyway, hearing nothing but bullets, machinery and ambience
youtu.be
Kh has some pretty bad ass boss themes. Can't hate

Not trying to imply anything... Just passing.

How long is DDD?
Longer than BBS?
you've definitely changed my opinion
I think it's longer
BBS is like 20 hours or less, each character route is pretty short and the "true" one is just an extra stage
DDD is probably similar
i'd say it's around the same but I didn't enjoy DDD that much, first KH game I put down for a couple months before finishing
Maybe you're just not a fan of techno? Can't say your suggestions blew me away either.
I can't actually. And to be honest, when I first saw my older brother playing the game at a very young age, one of the things that actually struck me was the music. When I'd get on it I'd spend ages just staring at the title screen to hear dearly beloved.
And by now the Kingdom Hearts series has an innumerable amount of amazing pieces across the games. Yoko Shimomura is one of the most consistently good composers in gaming, and you can easily tell one of her pieces by her distinctive style. Even in this Mario track, as soon as 00:08 kicks in it just screams Yoko Shimomura:
