As a child I always thought they looked like Berlin doughnuts.

You don't need to. Why complicate things? game's already easy af.

>casual nuts

Stalfos too hard for you, OP?

They're only truly useful if you're a speedrunner.

There's never any reason to use them otherwise unless you suck.

They are useless once you have the hookshot to stun enemies instead.

fucking yum

I beat the game with glitches and a deku stick. Eat shit.

Deku Nuts are broken as shit, a real player wouldn't use them.

It only becomes an issue when people like Arin suck absolute shit at the game and blame it on the design because even the easy way out is too complex for them.

>Implying casuals actually bother to use nuts

nuts make the game even easier, so I don't know why anyone would use them unless they're retarded beyond salvation.

But they are useless.
You literally never need to use them. Enemies can be taken out just as easily and quickly without being stunned.

Signs of an actually bad OoT player: Your name is Arin Hanson

This. It's not like the combat was difficult. Most people probably tried it once then realized it wasn't really helping overall.

>good players use items that make the game easier
Bet you use the shield too

Once I got the Biggoron sword I never went back.

One of the most useless items in gaming history.

They rush capitol and pick experience in chests

>pick exp
>get this

>Needing Deku Nuts
>Ever

just saying

came here to say this. thank you user.

>They think the maller is a bad ship.

>"pocket" healer

>mash attack button instead remembering the damage output by the 3rd time, making them hit air after the enemy has died
>not knowing where to go in modern games
>having bad peripheral view and not seeing the most obvious shit
>not realising a boss is coming up based on level design alone
>not properly examining items and objects in puzzle games or games with puzzle elements
>getting lost

...

> Getting lost

Hello.

I had never used them until I started my three heart run

I am casual I suppose, so enlighten me, why shouldn't you spend the first week building capitol?

>He plays Zelda

Even broader:

>He plays Nintendo games

They think healing specializations are bad in player versus player.

This one is so fucking common it's probably past the point of no return.

>Criticize OoT.
>Butthurt is so potent your name is STILL mentioned in OoT threads years later.

We'll played Arin.

I love/hate this game so much.

But fuck the Asylum.

Ciele is a beast of a hero though.

>Opening the book in RE
Fuck you, they had a feature that was literally never used and only seemed like it was there to be cool.

"I don't play RTS games"

>ich bin ein Berliner

what did he mean by this

GORONS GORONS GORONS BECOME UNSTOPPABLE

TWO HANDED CHAOS BIGGORON SWORD

Just go full necro

This applies to Heroes 3 MP meta in particular. If you put your stock into building capitol you slow down your creeping (can't get as many heroes and creatures). In Heroes 3 every faction is more or less good at creeping so in MP where you play on specific templates it's more important to explore as fast as possible, creep for all the treasure/xp/creature banks around you you can find and games typically solve themselves within one month. If you try to turtle and play a long con, you'll get outpaced by any good player.

They forget to reload and they do it in the middle of a shooting against an enemy player

>Obvious signs of a bad/casual player.: They consider OoT to be the pinnacle of video gaming

He didn't play it well, that's the problem.

Why is Arin so salty?

>some eceleb fucknut voiced basic and obvious concerns I had for years
>now I can no longer hold that opinion without being associated with him

Must be pretty embarrassing to suck so much that DSP does a better job than you

I never needed them though

Never seen so many babbies in one thread before. I assumed Sup Forums were bad at OoT, but in the words of Will Smith.... "DaMN."

Don't worry OP I got you. Forget these babbies who have never played through Master Quest, a Z-targetless run, or attempted anything but a Gamefaqs-approved self-imposed run.

*behind the back two finger handshake as OP passes behind me*

>Doesn't use input moves in Twisted Metal or V8
>doesn't buy armor or secondary grenades in CS
>reloads in front of enemies in almost any fps

>butthurt
I think you mean laughter youtube.com/watch?v=fJg3HP36FrM

>I don't know
hoo boy, people are less skilled than you think.
youtube.com/watch?v=fJg3HP36FrM

hookshot can be blocked tho, which is what stalfos and wolfos are doing 99% of the time.

>But they are useless.
This is the wrong word to use. There's a reason speedrunners use them.

I hear you man.
I like Ocarina and played it a lot when it cameout, but I think it has problems andif I voice them I get accuses of parroting Arin.
Ironically, the most criticized part of OoT in pop culture, the Water Temple, is the best designed in the game imo.

>they cant fight Dark Link without spamming Din's Fire

Look at this autist! Everyone look and laugh.

>is the best designed in the game imo.
How the flying fuck is making you pause the game every few seconds to put on the iron boots good design at all? It's so horrendously bad even Miyamoto apologized for that exact fuckup.

>Using consumable crutches instead of going in sword and board only
>Bonus points if you forgo board and rely on dodges.

The consumables speed up the fight against enemies that block even the hookshot like stalfos and wolfos.

>They physically lean when turning in a racing game
>They refuse to play single player games, either wanting someone or something else to blame for their mistakes
>They don't know how to unzip files
>They don't role-play in role playing games
>They only learn one character in fighting games or party games like smash

It's not a good fight either way. The games combat is shallow, and Dark Link just reads your inputs and swings when you do to clash swords. You're much better off just spamming Din's fire.

but dark souls was inspired by it user! that means it's good right?

This basically sums it up. I think its a big flaw in game design that people usually find what works for them and then stick to that despite other methods possibly being better/just as effective. Pretty hard problem to solve too.

The dungeon itself is good.
Play the 3DS version which fixes the games shit idea of having ironboots be a menu equipment

But the easy method that most people use (''the waiting game'') makes fights with stalfos and wolfos like 10 times longer than using other methods like the deku nut, getting behind them and OHKO-ing them with a backstab. In other words, not going the easy way is rewarded, as it should be.

>The dungeon itself is good.
Not really, it's annoying as hell with unintuitive progression, tight corridors with enemies that have a very short damage window (the clams), awful midboss and boss, samey, repetitive design throughout the whole dungeon (even the fire dungeon was more varied) and probably the laziest reward idea they had in the game: a longer hookshot.

damn dude, make sure to miss the keyboard when you're done jerking yourself off

>They physically lean when turning in a racing game

Why would this be considered a casual thing? Gotta feel it man.

>They only learn one character in fighting games or party games like smash

Blows my fucking mind when friends get a new character in all random smash and they go "HOLD ON I DON'T KNOW THIS CHARACTER". There's 2 goddamn buttons, one's pretty normal punches and the other is special moves. Holy fuck.

>but dark souls was inspired by it user!

Meh? Did they say that? Also related to the OP

>They think OoT invented locking on in 3D games

>self-imposed run

Speedrunning is autistic shit, no one gives a fuck.

>unintuitive progression
That's what dungeons are about, senpai

>Meh? Did they say that? Also related to the OP
No modern game can really avoid being somewhat inspired by OoT given it standardized how 3D action/adventure games played when it came out.

But beyond the superficial "Is it 3D? Does it have melee combat that uses a lock on mechanic? the Souls games do play very similarly to OoTs paced out sword and shield play. Closer to it than King's Field at any rate.

>action/adventure games
Don't use that buzzword please

I legitimately can't tell if you're being serious or only pretending to be retarded. Good job.

>don't know how to unzip files
I've just been using winrar forever

Kingdom Hearts > OoT

...

...

They are pretty useful in Jabu Jabu Belly against those pesky bubbles, but, if you used them to cheese enemies like the Stalfos or Lizalfos you're a fucking casual.

...

it is the slowest and most repetitive dungeon in the game. not bad but not fucking good contrarian

>not 7zip
>literally using nagware

>will smith
>that handshake

You nearly got me

>not looking at shit in a game all about inspecting shit

What cream is in those?

Custard

>*behind the back two finger handshake as OP passes behind me*

heh

actual german ones usually dont have that pacman thing going on from my experience

also i like glazed ones more

combat easy, dungeons were hell reimagined.

who /nevereatenadonut/ here

>they don't use the broken sword

oh hey mental crash

I know, I've been to Berlin. I was born in Chile though, over there they're simply known as "Berlines", cut to look like the deku nut and filled with either Crema Pastelera (Custard) or Manjar (Dulce de Leche).

Oh, hello.

>filled with either Crema Pastelera (Custard) or Manjar (Dulce de Leche
that sounds pretty good actually
ive only had the jelly filled ones

kek

U FUCKIGN FAGET

They think that Negative Combo is worthless.

>Berlines
actually Berliner
Wessis call them Berliner, while Ossis call them Pfannkuchen
Wessis call Pfannkuchen what Ossis know as Eierkuchen

>he doesn't use the broken sword

In the main game, I could never find use for negative combo.

In optional stuff, there was plenty of reasons to need instant combo finishers.

yeah, for cheesing Lingering Will

I meant in Chile, over there they're known as Berlines, with an s, and are quite popular because the southern half of the country has always been notoriously influenced by deutsch cuisine.

I didn't know that
maybe thats why so many teens from Chile come over for a year as exchange students
