Worst controllers ever thread? I'll start

>no weight feels like holding a fucking 0,99c toy
>somehow also feels like it's made of cheap-ass materials, even though it's twice as expensive as xbox 360 controller
>retarded analog positioning, can barely wrap my hands around the whole thing

It's shit.

Dual shock 1 or bust for me. On every single console I own, I have used an adapter.

Don't forget the triggers.

You posted a DualShock 3 but I assume you meant the Sixaxis?

360 controller is pretty bad. It's only solid for third person action games and racing games, and if you're playing a racing game you should be using a wheel. The dpad is terrible for anything other than a mini menu, meaning fighting games and platformers suck on it, the offset sticks barely affect dual stick gameplay but make the dpad nearly unusable even if it did work properly... only thing I like about it is the bulk, it fills your hand pretty well.

The xbone controller
>the worst shoulder buttons in existence
>shitty, loud as fuck d-pad
>beaming white light in the middle without the option to turn it off

>DS4
>shitty triggers with no feedback
>LED that drains battery and can't be turned off
>gimmicky useless touchpad

I meant the whole damn thing.

The ones you get off Amazon today are the shitty new batch. Somewhere along the line Sony changed how they manufactured these things and they're almost as bad as the Chinese knockoffs. I bought one a while ago and it was cheap plastic and one of the sticks died after a month.

You have to go out of your way to get one of the original production ones which are great build quality (I heard if you get a silver japanese one it's guaranteed but idk for sure)

The triggers are irredeemable shit though I will not argue that. but the rest of the controller is amazing

>retarded analog positioning, can barely wrap my hands around the whole thing
Literally only reason I prefer Dualshock 3 over 360 is the analog placement. With 360 you can't even press the d-pad (which is the most horrible d-pad ever made) while using left stick, which you can do on DS3 with claw. Only bad thing DS3 has is its shitty triggers.

>This
I went back to my xbox 360 controller after getting one.
Was so horrible to hold and use compared to the 360 controller.
To much wasted space and shit on it.

the only issue i have with ds3 its that its WAY fucking small for my hands, and im not an ogre, theres just nowhere to put three of your fingers on each hand

I think you mean the SIXAXIS. The DS3 was a decent controller...

PS1 analogue controller or go home

That is the dual shock one you nerd.

As someone who has mandingo sized hands I can say you are holding it wrong. Also while the controllers are cheap plastic I've seen just as many broken 360 controllers.

Thank goodness it's possible to use the dualshock 4 or wii u pro contriller on ps3. The dualshock 3 is insufferably bad.

This. Sony controllers have always been terrible. And what gets me is the analogue sticks LOL why are they both next to eachother? When the PS1 came out it the first controllers didn't have sticks and the main control pad for movement was top left. It makes sense to have it there as your thumb has a lot more movement range at that angle. Xbox 360 controller and N64 controllers were greatest controllers of all time! OF ALL TIME!

It's just too small and the buttons feel flimsy. Literally a manlet controller designed for Japs.

Enjoy having to shift the controller around to reach the D pad. 360 controllers are solid. Still got the original from 2005. Had to put new sticks on it but hey rubber wears out. At least it doesn't rip open within 2 weeks like the PS4 controller. Everyone I know who has a PS4 has a split open thumbstick.

yes

The 360 was considered the best controller until the xbone pad came along and fixed everything the 360 pad suffered from.

No, they're two different controllers. Original PS1 analog controller have concave sticks

True and doesn't vibrate.

I played on my 360 earlier today, and after months of using a DS4, the two controllers didn't feel any different to me in terms of quality. I like them both.

The position of the dpad sucks if you want to actually use it to play videogames. When using a controller on PC, the only genres that hugely benefit are fighting games, platformers, 3D action games, and driving games. 3D action is great on 360 but everything else is done far better on other controllers.

Mustard race

Doesn't using other bluetooth/USB controllers fuck up when it comes to button sensitivity? Granted, only racing games and a handful of other titles need them.

I played through Portal 2 co-op on PS3 with my then-GF using a generic plug-n-play Dual Action pad and it seemed finicky at times.

>sony stick layout
>bad
XBox stick layout is complete ass. I will never understand how people like it and the Switch Pro Controller using the shitty layout is the main reason why I hesitate to touch the Switch at all.
I agree with the weight, though. It feels a lot lighter than it should. DS4 fixes the problem, but I still use my old DS3s on my PC.

>that keyboard
>that mouse
>mustard anything
nigger that's fucking mayo race garbage trash

I don't know what you are doing to have to shift the controller around to use the D-pad.

I picked up my old DS3 the other day just to compare it to the DS4 and it feels like an alien torture device. Having said that, I picked up my girlfriend's daughter's xbone controller and thought it was pretty comfy, and its triggers feel much tighter. I've already had to repair my R2 after barely six months.

As much as I disliked the DS3 at first the DS4 is worse

>touchpad that barely gets puts to good use and usually just serves as a start / select button
>same touchpad drains the battery stupidly fast

I just wish the 360 pad had a comparable dpad, easily one of the best controllers in recent years

You can use DS4 in PC too.

>can barely wrap my hands around the whole thing

Tiny fag hands

You obviously don't have large man hands because the cunt is small as fuck, theres a reason they made the DS4 larger. But then totally fucked the battery and build quality of it.

Sony can't into controller, the only reason they haven't moved the analogue is because they don't want to seem like they're copying Microsoft.

Please tell me more about the platformers your playing on the 360. The controller was made for FPS and racing games, the bulk of the titles.

I know, but DS4's are fucking expensive and switching them between PC and PS4 is a bit of a pain in the dick, so I just use the DS3s I have sitting around instead.

360 > Wii U Pro > DS3 > Gamecube > XBone > DS4

Prove me wrong

To add to this, I fucking hate the tiny options and share buttons on the DS4, if you're going to make them so small at least give them more depth or travel, fucking christ trying to find one in the dark is like trying to find your first clit.

>playing Rocket League on anything but a DS3

enjoy your slow aerials

>rocket league
>DS3
what

>buy a xbox controller for my pc because mkx won't work with any other controller
>my thumb is too small to comfortably use the d-pad so i can't land a single combo properly
My most hated one so far. At least with ps controller i could play the fucking game.

>XX gloves are sometimes too small for me

It's literally all in the grip.

i hate all of the sony controllers for the cheap shit they are. I dont understand why they never had the balls to change A) the idiotic brandname of playstation and B) the fucked up controller. Srsly fuck them.

>360 > Wii U Pro
And you're already wrong out of the gate.
Seriously, even if you hate superior Sony/Old Nintendo stick placement, there's no fucking reason you should EVER like the 360 when it has that ass-tier D-Pad.

Ever since the 360 was first release it's been the main PC controller. There are obviously ways to play with practically every other controller made, but the 360 controller was, as you said, made for FPS, a genre designed for kbm and not a controller. 360 is terrible for emulators and pretty much every PC title.

>rocket league on ps4
enjoy your sub 60 fps on all of the newer stadiums

Because their consoles are also cheap shit.

Ayy? Never heard of this, all I remember is original controller and the ds1 which had analogue sticks

Check out X360CE or another dinput wrapper. There are plenty you can download that require no configuration and directly map 360 controls onto Playstation controllers (allowing DS3/DS4/arcade sticks to work perfectly with no worry)

dunno if it counts but the original 3DS was fucking horrible to play on, the corner left marks in your palms after a while.

Truthfully, it's the Wii U Pro controller. Shit feels amazing. You have to try to believe.

so you basically hate the controller because of "muh feefees"?

Here. It worked way better, no idea why they changed them to convex.

I tried to use one, but what mkx did was basically
>is there a non-xbox controller plugged in?
>the game will not run until you unplug it

Was this released in Europe? Well ds4 went back to that design but people still moan, people moan about anything probably because they don't know how to hold a controller

>Truthfully, it's the Wii U Pro controller. Shit feels amazing. You have to try to believe.
The build quality on that thing is garbage.
Plus the bumpers are horribly mushy, it's like they took the worst aspects of the DS and 360 pads and fusion ha'd them

I like how you use the trackpad in GR2 desu

Yeah, but it was only around for about a year. Something else (which you can slightly see in this picture compared to a DS2, although DS1 and DS2 have pretty much the same shape) is that on the Dual Analog controller the grips were slightly longer and narrower, and came to more of a point. They felt more comfortable if you had larger hands, since you hold the controller with your ring/pinky fingers instead of your palm. The shorter, stockier grips would probably be more comfortable for kids or those with smaller hands.

All these idiots in this thread.

Shitbox controllers are worse until they fix their analog stick placement.

The DS4 can disable the LED and the touchpad completely, but you need to use the proper system for it, not the Lagstation 4 or the Lagstation 4 Poo.

lol sonygger jap cuck with child hands
360 and xbone are literally MADE for our hands
not tiny jap cucks, OUR FUCKING HANDS. CORRECT PLACEMENT OF ANALOGS, DURABLE MATERIALS, PROPER SIZE.

You have mutilated hands then.

Nah, user just deathgrips controllers like a fucking retard.

...

And a shitty d-pad to boot since muricans are trash at fighters.

I was disappointed how small the 360 controller was when it came out. I loved the duke controller, the OG Xbox UFO one. If it had four shoulder buttons instead of black/white buttons and two concave sticks it would've been perfect.

>Tries to grip every controller like a mongoloid, wonders why he's having difficult time.

meanwhile the Steam Controller has two touchpads and lasts for 100+hours on 2 AA batteries.

I wonder how long the DS4 would last with the lightbar and rumble motors disabled. I doubt the haptics of the SC draw much power

>no weight feels like holding a fucking 0,99c toy
it was great, idk what you're bitching about

>The ones you get off Amazon today are the shitty new batch. Somewhere along the line Sony changed how they manufactured these things and they're almost as bad as the Chinese knockoffs. I bought one a while ago and it was cheap plastic and one of the sticks died after a month.
Sony stopped manufacturing DS3 controllers in 2014 already and all you get from Amazon now is chink counterfeits with spelling errors on the packaging.
Sony changed nothing, they just don't make these controller anymore. You literally paid a scammer for trash.

>retarded analog positioning
You know, in the Xbox pad the right analog is in the 'wrong' position that requires the 'bad' grip. And nobody has ever complained about it.

I remember the early ps3 controllers were like this, but they released a new model that added some weight or something.

Early PS3 controllers didn't have rumble motors in them.

>the worst shoulder buttons in existence

it's fixed in new models

The bumpers were supposedly fixed with the latest revision, haven't tried it out myself.

What bothers me the most about the Xbone pad is

>slightly smaller analog surface
>lighter than the 360 pad
>analog sticks are too light

>no replies
Sup Forums exposed.

They don't reply because even they know that it'd be suicidal to even argue against it.

When you're that delusional in sucking the dick of your objectively shitty japcuck controllers then you're too far gone to bother arguing with.

>MADE for our hands
>not tiny jap cucks
American PlayStation controllers are 10 % larger than Japanese ones, so they fit your PoC hands.

No, the original PS3 controller was known as the Sixaxis. It replaced rumble functionality with gyroscopic sensors, something Sony believed was "the future". At the time of release they said rumble was no longer important compared to the gameplay possibilities of motion. The controller was really light because the gyroscope was on a chip and there was no rumble mechanism to make it heavier. It also broke incredibly easily because it was hollow plastic with nothing inside to reinforce it. So many people complained that they brought out the dualshock 3.

>filename

i bet you like black large things

...

the only bad thing i can say about the DS3 is the stupid design of the R2 and L2 buttons, where the controller rests on them when you put it down.

>Use PS4 controller on PC
>Wifi becomes unstable or unreliable, pings go wild at random

Great technology

Use your left pointer finger for the analog retard, it's not that hard.

>americans are so retarded they still haven't figured out how to hold the dual shock
the controller should sit between the base and middle knuckles. All the grip you'll get will come from your ring and pinky fingers, while your middle fingers can either stay right on the groove between the handles and the bumpers or on the bumpers themselves.
It shouldn't be that hard to figure out by just looking at the goddamn thing.

This stupid fucking ugly thing

Why the fuck do people want weight in their controllers? It's so pointless.

>tfw idort with mostly nintoddler or xbot friends
>tfw only person who likes dualshocks and doesn't sperg about stick placement

>That """"d-pad""""
wow

it's just bluetooth my man. something else in your setup is fucked up.
