Consular is the quickest. Force Lightning spam is easily the fastest way to dispatch crowds with the least clicking involved.

You don't, being dark side just means it costs less force points, but you can just dump points into charisma and wisdom which you should be doing anyway.

by the time you upgrade your lightsaber a bit and get a few combat feats you can just auto-attack in between force lightning spam and still breeze through most encounters, on normal anyway
