Anyone know any Games like Valkyria chronicles?

Anyone know any Games like Valkyria chronicles?

For PC
Not X-COM, Fire Emblem or FF Tactics
I'd very much enjoy it if the game was realeased not too far in the past. 2005 being the soft limit.

I'm looking especially gameplay wise. I didn't like the story but could play through it.

Disgaea is on PC, you could try that.

Divinity: Original Sin, a fantastic game

Disgaea is really good if you can get over the art style(if its not your thing). Tactics Ogre if you still haven't palyed and want FFT feeling(its gameplay is still complex yet somehow faster). Could try the older Front Mission games. Xenonauts is a very good xcom like. If the third person piece of Valkyria really yo thing try Mordheim: City of the Damned or try emulating Gladius (Ps2)

I'm eagerly awating Divinity: Original Sin 2

Forgot to add that Anime graphics aren't a must.

> i don't enjoy it because its too old, like 10 years already.

Its like you are a pedo of games or sth.

I liked D:OS, but it is in no way similar to Valkyria Chronicles

Why not XCom? It seems like the closest thing unless you're looking for weeaboo.

Because I've already played it and like D: OS I enjoyed it but it isn't too close to what I'm looking for.

Was my post

After beating Valkyria I went back to Mordheim the gameplay can really scratch a similiar itch.

Sakura Wars

Operation Darkness

it's shit though

Mordheim really is the closest game I've encountered yet.

Graphics aside, it wasn't that bad. It did feel like a weaker VC overall, but it had some of its own ideas and the setting and overall concept was neat.

I'm not even sure which one came out first.

Operation Darkness was kind of fun, but it's not on PC

The third person camera works alot better with some of the mechanics like setting ambushes in Mordheim. Also has some unique mechanics that seperate it from other SRPG's

Codename STEAM

Why the PC isn't used more in the Genre is a mistery to me.

This

At least we're slowly getting Disgaea ports now. Looking forward to D5 in 2022

Emulate VC2 and 3.

steamworld heist is fun

There's a mech game called Dual Gear that's still in Early Access. It has a demo up on Steam. Maybe not to your liking, but the system is almost the same as VC.

>Emulate only VC3.
FTFY.

Anyone tried Gollop's new game - Chaos Reborn?

Hard West

>Fire Emblem or FF Tactics

Disgeas and pretty much any grid based RPG offers the same types of fun.

Mordheim City of the Damned is basically Valkyria set in Warhammer world.

There's also an upcoming mech game in the same vein called Dual Gear. Only demo available ATM.

Both are turn based and feature you controlling your characters in 3rd person mode for the duration of the turn just like Valkyria.

the death of xcom and jagged alliance permanently stunted the western srpg forever and for some reason western publishers have always been repelled by the genre for some reason

Fuck aside from a handful of niche eastern european the genere has been nonexistant in the previous decade

Also I enjoyed the King's Bounty games for all it's worth

srpg?

trpg then you fucking dip

The only VC like game I really know.

I have the first one of steam but havent gotten far

Is it worth playing?

T. Guy who 100% advance wars 1-DOR

Valkyria is a rip off of Sakura Wars, try that.

Codename STEAM is probably the closest thing the Valkyria Chronicles's gameplay.

Hogs of War

>Not the game it's literally a clone of

I think they call it TBS (Turn Based Strategy) and file it in the same category as Civ.

>he never played Jagged Alliance 2

What? Sakura Wars? You mean, the series with only one localized title (and it's the worst one)?

Do Sakura Wars 1-4 have translation patches? I'm too stubborn to learn moon

>Jagged Alliance
>Playing anything like Valkyria Chronicles

Silent Storm maybe but its quite a bit harder than VC. Jagged Alliance is worth a try too.

I donated to the kickstarter and got the game but I still haven't gotten around to playing it.

advanced wars.

>game made by the same people as an older series is a rip off of that older series

VC would be so much better if had a campaign in the style of JA or the original X-Com, where you actually had to try to thwart the invasion using Guerilla tactics. They could still have the scripted sequences and boss fights, I just want a campaign where you actually do things other than combat rather than getting shunted from mission to mission.

I always thought that the enemy stopping firing as you aim was stupid. You can do the stupidest like having a scout pass though 10 tanks and shot them to death.

Valkyria Chronicles 2&3 emulated on pc

>implying a game that lets you turn into a were wolf, grab the rocket launcher off a dead kraut, and take out 3 guys with it isnt great
The camera is so bad that it ruins the entire game though

...

What's the biggest appeal of this game ?

I bought the remaster recently because v has been saying how amazing this game is. I want to like this game, but I just dropped the game at the first huge red tank boss fight, just feel pretty huge and empty for a map

Educate me v

>from guns to swords
Fucking japs lmao

Too bad they were shoved onto handhelds and subsequently look and play like shit thanks to the hardware limitations, oversized melee weapons, and tiny maps.

2/3 are a fucking joke.

based raita

Just go fast.

I will be honest with you. Gameplay of valkyria is pretty unique and haven“t seen anything like it before or after playing it. I think you are out of luck

I want to eatherbreads

I'm truly curious about how they taste like.

see

Phantom Brave.

I loved that game.

King's Bounty: The Legend
Xenonauts
Expeditions: Conquistador
Hard West

Chroma Squad has very enjoyable combat system, but you have to endure maymays

it's babby's first SRPG

with some real time combat that punishes you for slow reflexes

and a large helping of retarded weeb storytelling to draw in all the drooling morons

oh and let's not forget the shitty game balance that makes most classes a waste of time

>King's Bounty: The Legend

How is it similar to VC? Its a HoMM clone.

It's a shitty artist and you got objectively no tastes if you like him.

He things VC is a traditional turn based strategy even though OP specifically asked for games not like that.

Added it on a whim knowing it's not similar to VC in any way. But it is mostly an RPG with tactical HOMM combat, OP may enjoy it.
