Is there anything they could do to save VR at this point?
Is there anything they could do to save VR at this point?
I wanna fuck it
THICC
It doesn't exactly need saving right now
Just more games and more advanced technology
Tap into the furry market.
They have tons of disposable income.

VR loli sex
Cheaper technology wouldn't hurt, not everyone is looking to blow 700 dollars on a VR set for their pc
Especially since you can only use it for so long at a time.
If you liek stuff like that does it make you a furry or a zoophiliac?
is that Hyzenthlay?
No. The technology is inherently limiting on gameplay. It's has little practical use and that is why it will go nowhere.
Look at the VR games that were around when VR first came out 20 years ago, they are EXACTLY the same as the games being released for VR today, just with worse graphics.
Heh, it looks like one of my rabbits (see pic)
Why am I not surprised?
pls go
post more cute bunni

>Remove gimmicky bullshit motion controls.
We learned this lesson literally a decade ago with the Wii, motion controls lack the required feedback for gaming. It's a fun gimmick, but nobody wants to sit on their couch for more than 15 minutes waggling their hands back and forth to make Link swing his sword. Fuck that shit.
>Reduce extra bullshit (eg. motion control peripheries) from packaging to reduce the price as much as possible.
Preferably to the point where it can function as it should - as an augmentation for gaming. Being more expensive than a modern console kills it before any of the headsets were even released. Seriously, all the bullshit that surrounded the pre/post-Facebook Oculus Rift price tag is a joke.
>If reducing costs doesn't help in simply getting the technology into as many hands as possible, invest in integrating basic VR into existing popular games and/or development engines.
Preferably, be doing this now too. The technology needs critical mass, and it's not going to get it with such a ridiculous price and bullshit gimmicky """games""" as it's only selling point.
Gamers have been widely excited by the prospects of VR. They're willing to give it a try (at least they were, public support is certainly drying up), so it's be nice to actually give them as many opportunities to integrate it into their normal gaming as possible!
>Treat it like the technology that it is.
Seriously. Cut the "it's the FUTURE OF GAMING" bullshit, especially when all you've got to show for it is "hue gimmicky motion-control early access half unusable" """games""". Give us a good VR headset designed as a visual *augment*. It's something that should be used to *enhance* the experience - especially immersion. Treat it like this, especially with regards to the price tag!
Do it after I've bred your slutty bunny
This more than anything.
At least when Nintendo releases a new gimmick it is also cheap as fuck.
...
I would love that
To wrap up VR was never going to be "the future of gaming". We knew this from the very earliest days of the Oculus Rift development kits: too many people were getting motion sickness after too short of an exposure. Treat it relative to this, the technology can only be a visual *augment* at best. Price it like this, remove all the bullshit guff that enthusiasts don't give a flying fuck about (and which *actively* hurts the proliferation of the technology), and play the smart game.
As it stands, a potentially interesting technology is now dead in the water for, probably, at least another decade. Hopefully when the craze comes around again, the technology will be such that development won't be controlled by a few large companies who want to try to gimmick it all up for a quick burst of sales.
