Do you think YOU could help fill this out?
Even if you had to add more controller types.
Do you think YOU could help fill this out?
bump, genuinely interested
>not plugging in your wheel for racing
too lazy to edit myself, joystick for flight sims
add emulators to the controller
bump that
>Muh immersive controls
Emulator is not a genre of video games
Controllers are better for hack and slash.
Sports games.
Fighting games (if we aren't adding fight sticks)
>Nintendo's was shit so that means all immersive controls are shit
Alright user, you win.
add emulators to the controller
also fighting games (if you count fightpads)
>inb4 cabinetfags come in and insist KBM is best for fighting
.
Yes huh, it's the only video game I play
You should have a middle option for both. Like, a TBS like Fire Emblem or Advance Wars can be played perfectly fine on either a keyboard or gamepad, or a Shump can be played on keyboard and gamepad fine.
For controllers I say you should add
>Action games
Like DMC, God Hand etc
>3D Platformers
Like Mario and Sanic
>3D Adventure games etc
Like Legend of Zelda, JRPG's etc
>not using a keyboard for easy qc
Perfect in every way
All platformers are better with joypads
Dumbass
ARPG could be put in the middle column too.
Put "Fighting games (argueable)" in keyboard
Oh boy, here we go
Id add a hotas for actual flight games, a fight stick for 2d fighters
the controller really only works for games built around consoles that cant port proper mouse look to PC (like lords of fallen/souls) . With a kb/multiple button gaming mouse there's really no need for a game pad.
Call me crazy but I prefer keyboard for platformers.
It gives me direct access to all the movement / action keys without having to even remotely move my finger outside it's designated button.
On controller even moving left - right requires switching the dpad or the thumbstick direction.
I feel a lot more comfortable with arrowkeys + whatever buttons on the left side for any other actions.
if you're playing platformers with a fucking controller you need to play harder platformers... pic related
>doesn't everyone own a wheel & pedals?
Rabi-Ribi? I can play that on my xbone gamepad just fine.
I cant play sidescrollers for shit on a gamepad
>constantly pushing up by accident
>either causes you to jump or mess up your combos
Use the d-pad?
I'm sure you were that poorfag playing Tony Hawk 3 on a keyboard too.
you don't?
just put pCars, AssetoC, and Dirt Rally back on my box, thinking about putting ET2 and ATSim as well.
Dat 1:1 steering, the fully realized cockpit. No other way to do this,
really??? i feel like it's way too inaccurate for me.. i got about 90% of the way through on hard but i just didn't have the accuracy with the gamepad so i had to relearn everything on keyboard.. now i can actually do the harder difficulties and couldnt go back to a controller if i tried. you should try it!!
for platformers and movement specifically i prefer a d-pad or analog stick because it is impossible to input a key for left and right at the same time, but i agree with the ability to hover over more potentially usefull keys in case you need to use them.
>you should try it!!
Why?
I already said everything works fine.
Seems like it's a problem on your end, rather than mine.
okay then.
D-Pad is objectively better because of the rocking
controller-any third person game
kb+m -fps andrts
>He can't into d-pads
