Sup Forums what is the review of this game? It is really as good as some people remember, or it has some flaws that shaped the future of the series (Toriyama linear style that plagued XIII).
So, what do you really think?

Pros
>Entertaining and good story that isn't morbidly convoluted/stupid like XIII and VIII respectively
>Good enough cast of characters (Auron is the best)
>Fun combat system although only a handful of bosses really take full advantage of what it offers
>Sphere grid has the right amount of streamlining to maintain a job system while also offering freedom
>Good OST
Cons
>The Cloisters are a neat idea but the first few are way too easy and then ones like Bevelle and Zanarkand are stupidly complex and just aren't fun
>Worst mini games bar fucking none in a video game
>Voice acting is ok at best
>The minimap takes away from the pleasure of finding treasures on the very linear path
>Hastega and Quick Hit break the game past Gagazet
>Kimhari is useless
>Worst post game content in a Final Fantasy
Overall I really enjoy the game but it has some flaws that are rather frustrating to deal with or some things could've been better implemented in the game.
-good graphics at the time
-really linear
-sphere grid was ehh because everyone ends up being the same besides limit breaks
How bad are the Dark Aeons and Penance? I'm about to start playing and this were the only things that i never did in the last time that i played.
Do i really have to max the stats? I remember that only to max HP you had to buy 30 Wings of whatever, and the best way to get them was bribing a Malboro for 4. I gave up because of the time.
Funny, I was just debating buying X/X-2 ps4 later tonight.
Never played a Final Fantasy.
X's post game is terrible, I really see no reason to do any of it.
>The Cloisters are a neat idea but the first few are way too easy and then ones like Bevelle and Zanarkand are stupidly complex and just aren't fun
lol they were easy, the only hard boss for me is the seymour one that one shots your party
>Worst mini games bar fucking none in a video game
kys
>Voice acting is ok at best
game was released in 2001, it was the best at the time and even then it's ok
>The minimap takes away from the pleasure of finding treasures on the very linear path
lol
>Hastega and Quick Hit break the game past Gagazet
Literally all RPGs have stuff that breaks the game, can't be a con if all them have them and they are expected at the end
>Kimhari is useless
LOL
>Worst post game content in a Final Fantasy
LOL
>inb4 hur dur you write lol that's no argument kys
It's because I'm too lazy to write why I don't agree. Blitzball alone is the best minigame, Kimahri needs setup but he can be a monster in the early and mid game. And also the game has a fuckton of post game content, Dark espers, Zodiac weapons, tons of side quests...
...
The story is pants-on-head retarded.
Oh man, that sucks. I think that i'll play Shadow Hearts then
You can try some of it and decide for yourself but I really just don't like any of it.
Metal Gear Solid is way older and has better voice acting. The problem is the cutscenes are directed terrible. Toriyama is the worst thing to happen for neo Square
How good is the Spoony review?
Toriyama is largely responsible for Midgar and the Cloud/Aerith development in VII. Is neo Square anything post VI?
>Metal Gear Solid is way older and has better voice acting.
Truth.
Not very
I already played twice this game im my old PS2, just never did the post game content. It was just too boring...
Then why did he go pants on head retard with this and XIII? On my god... And if they make the X-3 following what they got on that stupid book? I hate this new Square
Every game released under SquareEnix has had a terrible development period. XIII was originally meant to be on PS2 but it was delayed then the team had to upscale it to HD which redirected resources and then parts of the team were not in contact with others, I read somewhere were cutscenes were finished before the story was.
XIII and XV are such clusterfucks because Square can't get their development under control, it's a blessing XII turned out as good as it did. Not to say Toriyama isn't partially or largely to blame (the linear/cinematic style of XIII is definitely his as it was with X) but ever since the merger Final Fantasy has been hell in terms of development, they had to fucking scrap XIV and start over.
It doesn't get any better.
The remaster is really terrible.
It's the less bad version of FFXIII.
>Blitzball alone is the best minigame
You misspelled "worst" there.
