XII's story is pretty garbage but at least by virtue of being a derivative star wars knock off it is consistent and makes sense.
Why are you even downloading it if you didn't finish 13? Also Lightning Returns is the best out of the three and doesn't relly require you to have played the previous games.

Like seriously Ardyn's motivation and arc is actually really interesting, the postmodern shit of #13 is very well handled in an MGS kind of way, and the ending is fucking beautiful.

On steam? It runs like shit. I had to stop playing after 10 hours because it was dropping to 20fps and there were weird slowdowns in gameplay.

If when you say pacing, you mean the fact that tons of things happen off screen with little to no mention, and nothing makes sense, and everything is really anticlimactic and poorly executed. That being said, the ending was really nice.

Not OP but I played and finished 13 last month because I want to play the entire trilogy for some reason.
I really wish I hadn't bothered but I didn't have anything else to play at the time. I'm 5 or so hours in 13-2 and I haven't touched it in weeks so I don't think I will get to finish the trilogy.

The first track sounds a bit like Yahar'gul but only for a few seconds. The second track doesn't sound like anything from Bloodborne to me.

It's bandwagoning. The game is almost exactly like X. The main gripe is that past chapter 8 battles requires some effort, so it can make the game drag. Chapter 9 is straight bullshit, too.

It just hit me how much FFXII-2 and Tales of Symphonia 2 resemble each other.
They're both mostly unneeded sequels to an jrpg in which the cast is replaced by people with a tangential relation at best with the original crew, both reduce the originals to meaningless cameos, and both new crews consist of of a couple with a weird sexual tension going and their many pokemons.
I now I'm stretching it a bit but the resemblance is still uncanny.
X's storyline had a goal that you understood through the entire game. XIII just sort of happens for the first 20 hours

Vanille is the most poorly-written "genki girl" type of character that I have ever seen. She's so bad, in fact, that she almost comes across as a caricature or a parody of her character type. It's horrible.

There's nothing mediocre about it except for Serah. If you treat the game like Noel is the MC then it's really neat. I say that if it would be praised as a non-FF because FFXIII and it's sequels are hated for no real specific reasons that can't already be attributed to other FFs.
