Wonderful 101

katawa shoujo

TWEWY

I can't finish gurren lagann. It's just so, meh. I'm right after timeskip and I have no motivation to go on. Can I skip to the last few episodes?

Metal Gear Rising

Asura's Wrath

>motivational as Gurren Lagann

If you aren't enjoying yourself, don't force it. The ending will mean nothing to you if you don't experience the entire story up to that point.

Keep watching it user! You don't need your own motivation to watch it, I already believe in you!
The first few timeskip episodes are pretty boring, but after that it keeps getting better and better.

You might be able to skip the Rossiu arc, but there's a lot of background information that you will miss out on.

If you are at the timeskip and don't like it, you probably won't like the rest of it. The rest of the series is like the first half kicked up to fucking astronomical levels

I understand that there is a similar level of crazy, correct?

>implying ttgl isn't the most motivational

> The rest of the series is like the first half kicked up to fucking astronomical levels.

FUCKING SPACE VOLCANOES, HOW DO THEY WORK?

reminder to watch Getter Robo

Wonderful 101 is literally TTGL except without the shitty ending.

Metal Gear Rising 100%

I should rewatch TTGL

Without a doubt.

I rewatched it yesterday and a lot of it was so much better than I remembered

W101 is the video game equivalent of Gurren Lagann

>implying anyone cares about a shitty TTGL rip off

I recently got the blu ray as a gift and I can safely say that I did not overhype how enjoyable that series is in my memory, it's legitimately a great watch. It's not high art or something that'll GET MY NEURONS FIRING but it's fun and the scale it gets to becomes inspiring.

Just watch the second movie then

>ks
>motivational
more like extremely depressing, especially when it's over.

I remember watching GL and thought it was ok back in 2012. Watched it again a few months ago and still thought it was ok. Never seen a show that really blew me away though. They usually fuck up for one reason or another :/. The good ones are not available for me so I'll have to wait to watch them.

Mega Man X
Super Metroid

This

Yes, it's the closest vidya gets to TGGL's level of crazy

Especially the part 4 DLC, Asura's part 4 DLC is pretty much just the vidya version of the end of TGGL

...

Sounds like a plan. Does it add anything or leave out anything the animu goes into?

>watch

It's up there in my favorite anime. It and Evangelion make a great contrast for mecha, even though Eva is basically tangential mecha. I only watch mecha and shonen.

it's more straight the point and cuts out filler, they improve the final fight ten fold though.

Not really, certain things are more skimmed over.

The final fight is better though.

Radical, thanks.

Why does Sup Forums like TTGL so much? It's mediocre at best

Here comes the baitlord with his bait opinions and bait image.

It got me through High School desu

youtube.com/watch?v=SZNbabKjKpA

It's fun.

As a /fit/izen this is completely accurate

I enjoy TTGL

I want that framed picture user

Framed picture?

Mostly because the central theme is "you can do anything if you believe in yourself" and Kamiya is a hyper-masculine role model. It's only natural Sup Forums likes it since most people on here are dudes that have forgone a lot of opportunities to play vidya because they didn't believe in themselves enough to try.

Metal Gear Rising got me pretty fucking hype

It's fun with massive explosions of "You can do it" literally everywhere. Shit's damn inspirational at times and it's always stupid fun.

Mad jelly bro
I've got very little in my collection as I'm a broke college student, just the DVD box set, the stuff that comes with it, and the first volume of the manga. Do you just import all your stuff?
I think he's talking about the Blu-ray box-set.

I did like the bro bond between Simon and Kamina yeah. I also liked how Kamina would sock him if he started to doubt himself. K was a tru bro.

I love Gurren Lagann so much. It's my favorite thing.

TTGL got me through some tough times in college so now that I'm working and have very healthy disposable income I'm just throwing some money back at what got me this far.

I started with the Gurren Lagann Revoltech and just slowly worked my way up. I originally just bought whatever I could find in my local anime shop, but slowly expanded to AmiAmi/Ebay.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Undertale

Wrong. Someone from Sup Forums here?
I saw a 3x3 thread some days ago, most of the anime there were some real old school shit I didn't even recognize. They were shiting on TTGL, KLK, moestuff, gto, jojo. Care to explain?

I liked it better when it was called Neon Genesis Evangelion.

THIS one right here. That ending was pretty hype.
Bayonetta is another one I recommend that is like TTGL. Top tier anime.

Careful with your edge, bro. They have shit-all in common besides Simon's depression episodes.

Oh I saved one of them, literally what.

It has more in common with Getter Robo.

That said NGE stole from Ideon and other shit.

Same, I've watched the STTGL Giga Drill Break bit on youtube countless times and holy fuck it's still as good as it ever was, easily my favourite anime.

Dude, 75% of that board is patrician as fuck. The rest is pretty ok. Sup Forums can have its sperg moments of hipsterism but in general older anime was better.

>Same, I've watched the STTGL Giga Drill Break bit on youtube countless times and holy fuck it's still as good as it ever was, easily my favourite anime.

You should play some super robot wars, they have stuff that tops that and more.

That's fucking beautiful stuff you got there.
I've just got the coredrill necklace, man I wanna start collecting stuff, there's so much cool stuff, need to learn what stuff is good in terms of figures and what's the stuff to avoid.

>skipping rossiu
nigga no

>Texhnolyze
>NGE
>Count of Monte Cristo anime
>Berserk
That's all I can recognize. I've seen the top-left before but don't know where it's from.

I don't get it, I would prefer watching the top ones.

Anywhere in particular to start? Only like two have been released outside japan, so looks like i'll be emulating so doesn't matter what consoles I own

You don't recognize Casshern sins?

>If you are at the timeskip and don't like it, you probably won't like the rest of it.

I disagree with this wholeheartedly, Gurren Lagann is maybe one of my favorite pieces of media ever created, but the Rossieu arc is shit. Every time I rewatch I have to force myself, it's just so out of tone with the rest of the anime.

Force yourself through, one episode a day or a week if you have to. I swear to god the ending is worth it.

Or Wolfs Rain???

I know of both, but haven't looked into either beyond their synopses.

The only things I watched this entire year were Ergo Proxy and Konosuba.

Like all of 2016?

Jesus dude even if it was a shit year hit your backlog or something Konosuba S2 get hype

MOM GET YOUR PAWS OFF MY
MANGA

BRUCE
FUCKING
IRONSTAUNCH

Who's Kittan of video games
Also never 4get

not him, i know the set of games that he's talking about is the Z series, which has 5 games (Z on ps2, Z 2.1 and 2 on psp, and Z 3.1 and 2 on ps3/vita) because of the raw amount of story from various shows they have to cover but the STTGL stuff happens in 3.1
don't know how well you can pick up the series in the middle storywise since i've mainly only watched it due to lack of money and i don't know moonrunes but you may want to go straight to 3.1 because even as a SRW fan, 5 games is a fair bit to get through
if you want to see if you'll like the series, try out the gba ones that did get released outside japan, they're good in their own regard, and easy as balls to emulate

this is the closest we will get to gurren lagann the game

>mfw I can't wipe my memory and experience Gurren Lagann for the first time again.

I spend most of my time playing vidya, you think I got time for anime?

For some reason, Rainbow Six Siege motivates me.

I don't play a lot of multiplayer at all, so I'm motivated to git gud and learn all the maps and operators.

Plus, it motivates me to being closer to a confident, /fit/ operator.

Same. It's been a while.

That summer I first watched it in 2009 was a good time. I miss being able to get fired up like that.

Are the movies worth watching if I loved the Anime?

This might be a cut at Digibro after he made that video about shitty taste in 3x3 grids. I imagine the top one is his but I can't be sure.

in vidya terms they're enhanced ports of the anime

Gurren Lagann is one of the very few anime I really wish I could do that for. I still love it when I rewatch it, but nothing compares to that first time

Indeed

Heck the first boss alone would have been viewed as the final boss / true final boss in most other settings

>enhanced ports
>changing who dies
I mean most of the fights were better but it took away from the spiral narrative they had going on.

Pros and cons, the end movie finale is better but you lose little stuff along the way. You'll enjoy the movies and the series if you liked one of them. Just don't be bummed when the movies are missing 1 or 2 things, they make up for it with cool stuff like more spiral king back story.

>Watch gurren ep1
>Dirty and boring
>a little promise of something decent happening eventually
Should I watch this, Sup Forums?

They're different. I still like original anime more, it's less sugar coated.

Who?

NGE was shit until the movie.

>Sup Forums has best taste
Well waddya know.

Newfags detected.

Definitely. The end fight of the 2nd film. Oh boy.

Whos best girl?

Man, I really need to watch Nichibros again. Why was there no season 2?

Trigun's anime is weaksauce compared to the manga.
