Theoretically, could Death Stranding be the best game ever created?
>blank check from Sony, budget and time aren't a real factor this time
>Yoji Shinkawa is the characters designer
>Kojima has an actual competent co-writer this time, Kenji Yano
>The music is composed by motherfucking Ludvig Forssell, the fantastic GZ and TPP composer
>great actors involved (Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, rumored Emma Stone/Ryan Gosling/Ryan Reynolds)
>available on PC at some point after the PS4 release
If Kojima can fix the empty open world (and he can, DS won't be held back by shitty last gen consoles), could DS actually end up being one of the best games ever?
Theoretically, could Death Stranding be the best game ever created?
Source on Ryan Godling
>available on PC at some point
yeah, it all hinges on Kojima actually being good though
You could at least try to be subtle with your shilling
Kojima hasn't made a good game in 12 years so good luck with that
I would argue that having famous live action actors is shit. It's ALWAYS been jarring for me to see them in game.
Everything else sounds cash though.
>Game is in development for 25 years with a billion dollar budget
>Sony finally tells Kojima enough is enough
>Game is still unfinished
>People shit on Sony for rushing the game
>"Theoretically, could Death Stranding be the best game ever created?"
>Lists all this shit
>Literally nothing about gameplay
>Still don't even know what the gameplay is
You're what is wrong with video games, go watch a movie.
Also it's probably being developed specifically for consoles and going to be a Sony exclusive game, and depending on the development time, could be a console seller for the next Sony system.
Consoles are the devil
Go play Tetris, faggot. Vidya isn't just about gameplay.
Also gameplay was great in pretty every single one of his games.
>The music is composed by motherfucking Ludvig Forssell, the fantastic GZ and TPP composer
Phantom Pain had an OST?
The mechanics in MGS5 were good but the open world and mission design were shit.
>Snake Eater is 12 years old
Why are we here...
If a game has shit gameplay it legitimately cannot be the best game ever created. How can you even suggest it could be when you don't even know what the gameplay is, let alone if it's good. You're a clown.
You're not funny or smart.
>Vidya isn't just about gameplay.
So this is what it's like to be retarded. Huh.
>available on PC at some point after the PS4 release
I don't remember a single song from that game that wasn't licenced.
no you
Read the whole OP.
Yes we know, Konami is the worst company in the world because they wanted a return on their investment after 5 years and 200 million dollars.
Konami does a lot of retarded shit, but I really can't blame them for wanting MGSV to actually come out at some point.
Off the top of my head:
V has come to
Afghanistan's a big place
Allegiance defined
Return
Quiet's Theme
Beautiful Mirage( all three)
Infected
Shining Lights even in death
Disarmament (both songs)
A phantom pain
We are diamond dogs
The start of a journey
Venom
DDog
The Other Shadow
Behind the mirror
Disembark
Let the legend come back to life
Kaz it's me
Fighting for the future
Concerning the infection
Mother base
The first and last words
Demon
Regret and acceptance
9 years
Peace Walker events
>constantly complain about how disappointing MGSV was
>claim Death Stranding will be GOTYAY even though we've seen nothing
what is wrong with you people
I played TPP and GZ for a combined 300 hours and I can't remember a single fucking non-licensed song. When I try to think of one all I can here is that "duh duh duh duh" song from GTA V.
It will be a motherfucking movie.
Screencap this.
>200 million
You mean 80
>Sup Forums is one person
Well that's your problem.
I also forgot Vengeance.
The music is completely forgettable shit.
>available on PC at some point
Wow this is even more delusional than
>rumored Emma Stone/Ryan Gosling/Ryan Reynolds
Says irrelevant user with the brain capacity of a peanut on a Brazilian futbol board.
Lets see some gameplay first before we jump to conclusions
Theoretically? Sure, maybe. Will it be? No.
And yet I still vividly remember tracks from MGS, MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4. All of which I played 10+ years ago with the exception of 4.
but there's a problem here, Tetris fucking sucks and it's boring
Im sorry but this game will bomb and fail so fucking hard that it will ruin Kojima's career and fame
I can only remember like 2-3 tracks from those. The rest are forgettable as shit imo.
It because of shit like this you fagots hated MGS:V
You fucks over hyped it to the extreme and when the game wasn't a second coming of the christ you all lost your shit.
Just to suffer
Why are people laughing about the guaranteed pc release? Not the only place I've seen the same behaviour.
>rumored Emma Stone/Ryan Gosling/Ryan Reynolds
Yeah fuck no. they are the most high paying actors in the film industry right now, why would sony allow kojima to hire those specific A actors for a fucking videogame? And I doubt any of them would agree to do it either.
Yeah, I get that star power is a thing, but it just seems unnecessary. Games allow developers to use whatever unique and memorable character designs they could want, but to just stick with taking picture of celebrities?
It feels limiting.
I think it has too much hype behind it to fail commercially. God knows how it'll do critically.
>playin games for gameplay
what are you, a gamer?
Kojima will spend half of his budget and production time trying to get into Mads and other hollywood actors pants so no
I dunno, the trailers for Death Stranding have been pretty impressive so far. Mads especially translated to vidya in top form.
But the trailers are highly cinematic and show fuck-all about the gameplay. The uncanny valley will probably be a lot stronger when Norman Reedus is under the player's control and rigged with some other guy's walking/climbing/action mocap..
Solid Snake's original picture in MG2 was traced from Mel Gibson. The boxart was traced from Kyle Reese in Terminator. Big Boss was traced from Snake Plisken in Escape from New York.
Kojima has always based his characters off of actors, it's just now it's legit.
>>blank check from Sony, budget and time aren't a real factor this time
You're retarded if you think they're really going to give Kojima a blank check for a new IP.
The moment he gets over-budget is the moment they pull in the reins.
Hyped for the Kojima + Junji Ito collab.
It could be but I'll never say a open world game will be the best game ever cause they're usually terrible. MGSV did no benefit from being open world and only made me dislike the game for it's weird disjointed story. I want a well directed action movie of a game not a game that has filler.
I saved this a while back, keeping it alive outta curiositys sake.
Better that than Kojima going senile during development
I love how easily impressed Kojima fags are
>Will this be the greatest game ever?
>Lists D-List Hollywood actors alongside some B+ ones who won't give this game the time of day but drones think they will be because Kojima likes them or follows them on twitter or some shit as a positive
>available on PC at some point after the PS4 release
Mark Cerny was literally delegated as a technical advisor to the project by sony, I don't think he ever worked on a multiplatform game in his life.
>Punished Kojima
>Del Taco
>Hannibal Lecter
>Norman Feetus
yeah, lets just say I have some high fuckin hopes for this joint
The open world in MGSV sucked because it didn't have shit on it.
Which is why most games that go "open world" suck. You either go full GTA or stick to small maps.
>muh gameplay
For all its flaws V had some great gameplay. I think we can trust Kojima on this one. All that's been said is it'll be an action game but I think it'll be fun
