Why did they make the Select button so big?
Why did they make the Select button so big?
Because a small touchpad would be silly
it's as big or small as you want it to be
that touchpad is frequently used as more than 1 button, unless the game has no uses for extra buttons at all or was plain lazy anyway
Xbox One controller makes sense because the view button does its intended purpose - bring up map, change camera view, bring up overlay. This touchpad is one giant button for most multiplatform titles.
>playing multiplats
found your problem, multiplats aren't games
two buttons sometimes
sometimes 4 too, but that rarer
wish devs would use it more for that, especially when they have dumb stuff like a wheel selection menu that the touchpad could've replaced
Yakuza Zero making the Options button be the menu button is super fucking annoying. Just do right and left click on the touch pad because that small ass button is hard to hit
>game has map on options button
Fucking hate this shit in games.
it has 4 buttons and multitouch
it could have several uses for menu interaction: pich in-out for map, scroll wheel selection, sub-menu quick access etc.
problem is not even 1st party dev use it
A better question is why do you have that fucking share button.
The number of times i accidentally press it only to have thje bullshit "do you want to be a cunt and put this on twitch" menu pop up is beyond infuriating.
how the hell are you pressing it on accident, both Share and Options are so small and placed in a way that's hard to do by error.
Also, just set its default action to taking a screenshot. I use it frequently for that purpose myself.
And to clarify, doing so doesn't bring up any menu, it just silently do -- have to hold Share to bring up the menu when it's set that way.
>Not setting it to "Quick screenshots"
>Bitching about the ability to take screenshots or videos without having to pay $150 for an Elgato.
>Pressing it on accident when it's so small and you have to crabhand to actually hit the damn thing usually.
How? Bitching about the share button is one of the stupidest things you can complain about when you never have to use it if you don't want to.
Why did microshit have to change the start and back buttons? The menu and view buttons were confusing as fuck when I first got my hands on the xbone controller.
>A better question is why do you have that fucking share button.
To take screenshots and just discovered you can record video too.
>Why did they make the Select button so big?
Because has two fisical input, also recognize 8 different gestures.
makes ringswapping in das3 p easy desu
and given the button is shitty (like options), I'd also rather games not use it and rely on the touchpad as two buttons
touchpad actually great, I rather press that than start/select of pretty much ANY controller
>friend wants to get a PS4 and talks to me about it first
>asks me what the screen is for on the controller
is that really what some non PS4 owners believe?
No, you friend just belongs in a primary school.
Here's the biggest question.
Why did both Sony and Microsoft choose this gen to suddenly make their own special snowflake buttons instead of the tried and true start and select?
Nintendo has been using + and - since the Wii, but they still identify them as start and select buttons.
>fiscal inputs
So I have to feed it money? Thanks, Sony!
So you could always Select the right option, of course
