Nice
Nice
From the site, while it seems VLR is for the most part a straight port, there are a few additions.
>now 27 save files, not 3
>can adjust music, SFX and voice volume individually
>added option to skip text even if you haven't read it
Is it a compilation of the three games or is there some new content added?
>>added option to skip text even if you haven't read it
A true blessing, considering the amount of boring as fuck padding.
It's 999 with HD assets, voice acting, a flow chart and some other minor QOL improvements. VLR is just a straight port of the same game with some very minor QOL improvements.
Now that I look at it, the collection doesn't even include the third game.
>Miyuki Sawashiro is back as Akane
Fuck no. I like Sawashiro but she doesn't suit Akane at all, miscast almost as bad as Yuki Kaji doing Phoenix Wright.
>Yukarin returns
>Sawashiro returns
>Takahori FUCKING Sakurai
I used to judge people who re-play VN are a fucking retard since you already know the twist and there is almost no gameplay but fuck I'm so tempted to buy this game day 1.
Nigga did you play ZTD? She was fucking perfect for the role there. Granted, Akane's quite different in personality there, but Sawashiro's definitely got the range to adjust.
the thing is a lot of the dialogue and text that seems like padding often turns out to be fucking crucial to the plot.
Right. It's only 4000yen in Japan though which is like 30USD, and we typically get games cheaper than them too, so it's still decent value.
It feels more like they just wanted to sell the 999 remake standalone, but they packed in VLR to justify it a bit more.
>often turns out to be fucking crucial to the plot.
Hearing the explanation for colors six times isn't crucial to the plot.
>ZTD
>Nonary games
>Replaying a VN
Why?
>Granted, Akane's quite different in personality there
That's the main problem, she was fine as ZTD Akane but I've never heard her in a role where she had to act cute and innocent.
Phantom of inferno, pure and innocent loli.
999 has such an amazing atmosphere
shame VLR has shitty twists and ZTD still makes me mad
>she was fine as ZTD Akane but I've never heard her in a role where she had to act cute and innocent
I've just been playing Bioshock Infinite and she did the perfect "damsel in distress" character there, and that's how I'd picture Akane in 999 for the most part. She's played plenty of loli characters too so she can do the cutesy voice with ease.
did you never re-read a book you liked but didn't read for a long time?
PC finally getting the second game after getting first and third in the trilogy.
Wonder if ZTD will ger a boost in sales now that pc can play the second game.
Loli is a pretty different thing but alright. Gonna withhold judgment for now but I don't think she can do it.
Not much of a loss, the first two are the best.
>Also on steam
Well then.
>Why would you reread a book If you already know the ending?
It's the journey that matters
Can someone tell me how they fixed the final puzzle in 999 to be playable on other platforms?
also, all versions have dual audio, including japan.
previously for VLR I think only the american version had both, and europe and japan only had the jap dub.
We don't know how it'll look because it's not out yet buddy.
But it won't be hard to fix. You people give the dual screen twist far too much credit. The screens thing is just a gimmick. The twist is simply that the narration is being done by someone other than Junpei - and that translates perfectly well to one screen.
I'm curious about this too
that was perfect for the 2 screens
So Junpei is voiced in 999 but Sigma isn't.
Got a friend who's gonna play this the first time and he'll probably think it's odd.
No, that's asinine.
>no timeline map
So you still have to twiddle your thumbs whilst skipping through everything to get the different endings.
Bravo.
27 save files isn't an elegant solution either.
VLR already had a timeline map. 999 now has one too but I was talking about the additions to VLR.
Yeah, I think it was a stupid decision to give Junpei a voice. First time player might suspect somethings off.
It would make the Sigma identity twist feel even dumber than it already is when you activate the hologram, since not only is Sigma hearing his own voice but so is the player.
>hmmmmm, I wonder who this guy whose voice is identical to mine is, hmmmmmm
Derp, thought you were talking about 999. My bad.
Can't wait for all the scenes featuring the 9th man
oh wait...
If anything I think it's good. I doubt noticing Sigma isn't voiced is enough to spoil anything. It might tip you off a bit, but it's hardly going to do much.
It makes perfect sense though, since 999's a third person game, and VLR's first person. You're just meant to think both are first person.
Yeah, Sigma not being voiced makes sense, so I guess the best solutiom would've been to not have Junpei voiced.
so we finaly get all 3 games on pc?
I wouldn't even care tbqh
Akio Otsuka would be the voice of old Sigma
And I would fucking kill to have him be fully voiced
Good point, something that makes sense after 999.
Complete remake of the third game when?
As soon as you SHIFT into a timeline in which ZTD is completely different than how it ended up being.
