Didn't count, but this is what I think of Super Metroid

>Those pew pew noises and annoying screeches

>1/5 means it does not exist; 0/5 means its so terrible that it is detrimental to the experience.

So, basically this.

>a board game
Go back to /tg/

...

No, I mean to imply that you realistically only have 10 actual points to spend, because the first five go into gameplay unless you're shit, and another five go in the 1/5 slot because of the added restriction.

Yeah, but with ten points and your setup, you have a fun game that has no sound, is text based, no music, no art, and the story of fuck all.

I listen to my own music playing all games so it'd probably go something like this. Maybe even putting no points into music/audio and two more into graphics. PC masterrace.

>Grocery shopping simulator: 1976 Edition

I have never cared about "music" in games.

Nice incredible hulk color scheme

thanks doc

As long as you have a unique style and addictive gameplay, you'll net a good fanbase. The story will only hurt it among reviewers, but the style is what gravitates the consumers to the product and lets me compensate for the graphics.

...

what game fits this?

>Not putting five points into gameplay.

...

>Super Mario 64

>failing for the Sup Forums meme

...

all other answers are wrong

>story
come on now. wouldn't you rather have godly graphics, music, audio or style over an average forgettable story.

I don't know if we're posting ideals or supposed to be thinking of specific games
Also, OP is a dick for saying 1/5 is nonexistent instead of just passable, cause no one actually needs 2/5 in grafix otherwise

Sounds like DMC1

...

>4 in everything except for Audio.

Nothing wrong with having less than five in gameplay.
Plenty of great games only manage three.

Yeah but if you want your IDEAL GAME, is gameplay really "less important" than anything else?

Well that was easy.
With gameplay secured, what else could I possibly want in a game? Story is for waifufags and as long as the sound effects and graphics aren't offensive, a nice art style and a killer soundtrack are more important.

Games that I think fit the image.
Shovel Knight
Resident Evil 4
Shin Megami Tensei III
MegaMan X4
Muramasa
Shadow of the Colossus
Persona 4
Viewtiful Joe
Furi
Okami
Bloodborne
Devil May Cry 4
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Crypt of the Necrodancer

...

The big problem is most games don't get 20 points so it's not really hard to make a masterpiece.

>grocery shopping
>good gameplay

it's very, very good grocery shopping user

Time for epic fps jaems

I call it: Halo 2.

You might like a non glitchy version of Sonic 06. Shame it doesn't exist.

...

This is stupid and arbitrary.

Most of my favorite games break these constraints. It's why they're my favorites.

...

>Story is for waifufags
what the FUCK did you mean by this?

...

>not having turned the green block 180 degrees before putting it down
What am I looking at?
Name one your favorite games that breaks these constraints

It's an impossible decision to make unless you actually define what the fuck you mean.

What is "Graphics"? Do you mean a 2 in graphics looks like an Atari game? Or do you mean it's just muddy and off-looking like, say, Dark Souls 2?

How the fuck can you rate art style on an objective scale? What is the notable difference in a 4 and 5 on the artstyle scale? Same goes for Sound.

Video games are supposed to be G A M E S not fucking stories m8. Go read a book or watch a movie/show if you want a good story.

I always thought of a two for graphics as Super Mario 64, but your mileage may vary.

youtube.com/watch?v=Lcv0qWlirGs

I think I've seen this game before.

>Or do you mean it's just muddy and off-looking like, say, Dark Souls 2?
You think on a scale of terrible graphics from amateur 3D render indie games on steam to the best possible graphics, DS2 ranks a 2/5?

>What am I looking at?
A casual.

Do good stories even exist?

...

999, Dark Souls, Halo 2, Risk of Rain, MGS2/3, Yakuza 2, Metroid Zero Mission, Mother 3, Marble Blast Ultra, and more.

Well that's sort of the question I was asking, numbnuts. What's a 2/5. Is it a shitty unity looking game? Is it an N64 game? Is it Asteroids? Is it a PS2 game?

-No gameplay
-Amazing story
-No graphics
-The best music
-The best audio
-Ok artstyle

objectively the best way to divide it up, filename unrelated

1/5 for art style means "art style does not exist"

???

>Maximum artstyle with literally no graphics

Congrats. You've made a comicbook.

is it a VN or a Text adventure?

faggots

Not that user, but I just break it up into console generation limitations, And if it's on PC, by decade.

Dark Souls is 4 gameplay, 2 story, 3 graphics, 4 music, 3 audio, and 4 art style
I would have said 3 music but you'd probably get triggered if it received less than 20

Could be a text adventure with cool art in the manual.

it could be a Graphic Novel?

Come at me bro.

...

yeah all a game needs to be is fun.
graphics and story do not matter at all

I'm trying to picture a game with great graphics but no art style. I can't think of anything.

>Rubik's cube simulator

Fair enough, but at that point I would say the difference between 4 and 5 is completely negligible and pointless, since the new consoles are such shit.

Dark Souls is 4 Gameplay, 4 story, 2 graphics, 4 audio, and 4 artstyle.

Notice how you didn't mentioned all the other things. Gameplay is the most important, but it can't be the only thing/

>literally no story
Is that even possible?
Even NES platformers will have something in the manual explaining who your dude is
Literally no art style means it'd have to be actual photo/video or something, right?

How do I make RPG combat not boring as fuck in my game?

Did Spore have a story? Roller Coaster Tycoon?

...

...

>4 story
I fucking love it that lorefags take the intentionally vague shit the game throws at you, make elaborate theories around it, and then immediately forget that story is not the same as lore

...

>story fag
you killed video game congradulations!

hexagon, 140

swap gameplay w/ graphics bar and you'll get solus project

yes i am a massive faggot

Thanks! It's fun enjoying the story of the million good cRPGs that came out in recent years while also playing games with better gameplay that didn't magically disappear

Intelligent Qube

Story includes lore, dumbfuck. It's a story slider, not a plot slider.

And if you don't think Gough leaving the knights life to go carve wood, and getting tree sap in his mask, and thinking he'd gone blind because he never thought to take off the mask is the hottest shit, then get the fuck out my face.

I'm making the best VN ever bitches.

Full disclosure, I play JRPGs exclusively.

Or Witcher 3

>5 story
>manages 4 gameplay
what adventure game
