Name 5 games or FUCK off.
Dark Souls II and III though.
Truth in Fiction
>Legend of Zelda
>Legend of Zelda II
>Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
>Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
>Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
That was easy.
Good job. Now, how about you'll name 100 000 games or fuck off ?
Is it just me, or is the catalog frozen?
>western game
>katana is the strongest weapon
Here's a better idea.
Name a japanese game where a katana is the strongest weapon and:
-The game isn't set in Japan or the in-universe equivalent
-The MC isn't a samurai or some other character who might actually use a katana
There really aren't that many. FF1 and maybe DaS1 are the only ones that spring to mind.
Chrono Trigger
but the excalibur is the strongest weapon in FF1, and in Dark Souls it's the dragon king greataxe which is used in builds that oneshot every single boss in the game
yeah that's why it's the most popular weapon in NG+++++++
Uchigatana is actually one of the best overall weapon in dark souls 1. Being fast enough to avoid getting hit is only part of it.
Metal Gear Solid Rising
Shadow the Hedgehog
Xenoblade Chronicles X, for some reason (discounting Skells)
>DS2
>best weapon not being a longsword
yeah i could use a gigantic badass weapon the size of 10 men and do 700 damage per hit after a long-ass swing speed that anyone non-retarded could dodge
or I could just use a dark buffed fume longsword to hit 500 damage with one of the fastest attack speeds in the game
Masamune was stronger than Excalibur. Ultima Weapon and the Barbarian's Sword were stronger still but weren't in the original NES game.
i thought masamune was only good because it can be wielded by a red mage, so you have comparable (but not superior) damage to excalibur, on a caster
Lear English. He's implying that longsword IS the best weapon.
Legend of Zelda isn't a western game, user.
>WRPG
>obligatory ninja/samurai pandering weapon
Looking at the stats, it seems to outperform Excalibur in every way. Can't remember if that actually holds true in the game though.

>WRPG
>people get asshurt there is a katana
you're actually right, i thought masamune had less damage but a higher hit rating, but it's better than excalibur in every possble way
he was using those games as counterpoints to the OP
>katana
>""""1d10""""

>Sup Forums gets asshurt that katana outdamages western swords
I brought it up because they are Japanese. The longsword dominating is the point.
I agree OP, it's ridiculous.
I'm asshurt that katana outspeeds and outdamages sword at lower stats in Dark Souls.
What are some PC games with katanas?
As it should be
Swords have always been the weapon of choice in fiction.
Axes are for brutes and thugs, and spears just make you look rank and file unless you get fancy and spinny with it.
But swords always look good. Whether you're the noble king with a sword passed through his family for generations drawing it from your scabbard as you lead the charge or you're a humble farmboy going on an adventure with a simple sword made by your village's blacksmith, drawing it as you brave the dangers of a cave, the sword always looks good.

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Masterwork Bastard Sword" bullshit that's going on in the d20 system right now. Katanas deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.
I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Japan for 2,400,000 Yen (that's about $20,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my katana.
Japanese smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.
Katanas are thrice as sharp as European swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a longsword can cut through, a katana can cut through better. I'm pretty sure a katana could easily bisect a knight wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.
Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Samurai and their katanas of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the men with the katanas first because their killing power was feared and respected.
So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the d20 system. Here is the stat block I propose for Katanas:
(One-Handed Exotic Weapon)
1d12 Damage
19-20 x4 Crit
+2 to hit and damage
Counts as Masterwork
(Two-Handed Exotic Weapon)
2d10 Damage
17-20 x4 Crit
+5 to hit and damage
Counts as Masterwork
Now that seems a lot more representative of the cutting power of Katanas in real life, don't you think?
tl;dr = Katanas need to do more damage in d20, see my new stat block.

I wish I could say Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II but I can't.

>real life (pre-firearms)
>a knightly poleaxe is the strongest weapon

Fire Emblem 7 for Lyn.
>fantasy setting based on medieval Europe
>katanas are a thing
>characters who use them aren't called out as weebs
