WHY THE FUCK DOESN'T THE PS4/VITA USE THE XMB INTERFACE

WHY THE FUCK DOESN'T THE PS4/VITA USE THE XMB INTERFACE

IT WAS PERFECT

I just don't know.

Put emphisis on games or to hide the fact that the successor to the "It only does everything" console couldn't even play mp3s at launch.

XMB is over 10 years old at this point, limited and a memory hog.

PS3 couldn't do a lot of things at launch either, I think people have forgot just how limited that console was at launch. Couldn't even do in-game XMB until the 2.40 update

How is the XMB a memory hog? It was meant to run on a system with 512MB of Memory

it played blu-rays and i showed one bluray to my friend and after seeing the definition of true bluray he sold his entire dvd collection he'd been collecting since dvds came out

true story

It did more than the PS2 though which is my point it could have been embarrassing for them to have it seem like the new console did less.

>no more custom themes
>no more custom wallpapers
>all of the themes on PSN are utter shit
God I hate the PS4 home menu. Literally the only thing wrong with XMB was you couldn't rearrange your games.

I always liked XMB too.
Sony bluray players have a simplified version of it.

With 4.50 fw you can change the wallpaper.

>look at PS4 first screen
>oh that must be the PS store
>it was actually the interface

welp

Agreed. The PS4 one is utter crap. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to hide the download manager in the notification thing, which is hidden up the top?

Plus, the organisation of the tiles is rubbish.

The only thing I don't like about the ps4 interface is how i'm stuck sifting through like 10 streaming services I don't use to get to the ones i use. Other than that it's totally fine and i like it more than the ps3 interface overall.

I do miss the old psn layout though. It used to be so much eqsier to navigate and so much faster in general.

>it was perfect
No It wasn't. You just got use to it. But ther ps4 interface is absolute garbage

You can re-arrange your games on ps3. Always could. You needed to tap the square button.

You have to jump through fucking hoops to do anything on PS4 which is stupid as fuck since everything was seamless and simple as hell on PS3.

All the good functionability that the PS3 had and the convenience was shot to shit just because dumbasses that didn't understand how to customize the themes or wallpapers pissed and moaned about how 360 had a more appealing interface....and in every single instance, it just turned out that the complainer's first console or game was some combination of Halo and microsoft brand.

The Transistor theme is superb. Everything else is shit though.

Thank fuck people like xmb.
I've once seen a thread where people were shitting on it and I've been triggered ever since.

I can't wait for that to come out, it only took 4 years!

>people were shitting on it

Fucking how? It's one of the most easily understandable user interfaces there is.

My only gripe with it was how slow it was. I wish I could upgrade my ps3 internals so at least the xmb wouldn't be slow

I like that retroarch has it. Fucking perfect interface for controller, but only if it supports user made categories.

XMB was perfect, there was no way to follow up on it without it being a downgrade.

I use folders to organize my PS4 games in one folder, all the other bullshit apps in another folder. It helps, but it's nowhere near as good as the XMB was.

I prefer the ps4 one desu, I came back on my ps3 to play DeS the other day and holy shit every menu is too fucking long

Remember when Sony released an update to intentionally make the ps3 store an unintuitive clunky slow piece of shit?

Which interphase is worse, the PS4's or the Vita's.
