for fucks sake what are you gonna spend that on, a sandwich? just buy it
if you dont buy it just based on that screenshot alone, you dont deserve to play it
If you like slow-paced adventure games then just fucking get it
You have to be really really goddamn patient to play it. The game is unforgiving in how much it doesn't want to be a video game. The question will seep into your head as you crawl across the town for the twentieth time: "Why is this a video game? Why am I doing this?" You have to be sorta dull and not ask these questions. Don't be afraid to refund it.
Honestly you may want to wait for the remake. I love the game and have completed all three paths but it can be a slog at times even though that's kind of the point. If you have the time on your hands though its a great fucking ride if you can stomach it.
It's one of my favorite games and you probably shouldn't buy it without knowing what you're getting in to.
If you want to spend your next 30-50 hours slowly walking around what is the equivalent of a slavic existentialist play in the form of a survival-ish walking simulator, you're in the clear.
You must realize that this game is not "fun"
It's opposite of fun but it's still good, let that sink in.
Books exist
Pathologic wouldn't work well as a book.
It doesn't work as a game.
It's a game where you can put hours and hours into a playthrough but get a point where you cannot complete the game.
Pathologic thread? Please??
Happened to me, bu i still not regret it.
Playing pathologic was like a feverish dream, i just couldn't stop and wanted to know what happens next, it was like an obsession. It didn't help that i had cold then. But yeah, wouldn't call it fun.
That's a tough fucking request, user.
Pathologic isn't popular enough to warrant a thread without it dying after about 150 replies and half of them are calling it a pretentious slog.
There's a remake coming, so you can wait for that. But if you want a really good trot through slav imagination, can't go wrong with Pathologic. Nothing is what it seems and everyone has something to hide.
The remake demo plays almost exactly like the old version so i wouldn't wait, it's just more of the same.
This was the same with me, after getting a few hours in I couldn't stop. When I was at work I would just constantly think about what was going to happen next and what was going on in the world. My interest started to die out part way through Clara's route, but it managed to get interesting again at the end.
post cute bachelors
it costs less than a cup of coffee you poor piece of shit. If you're interested buy it. If you're genuinely in a position where spending two fucking fifty is going to fuck your day up I think you have bigger priorities than playing video games.
Maybe he lives in the world of Pathologic and that 2.50 might be the difference between life and starving to death
The demo isn't a demo. It's missing a lot of features and is more of alpha proof of concept. I believe the actual game will be changed from the original in a lot of ways.
It's pounds. I think you can buy 5 sandwiches there with this money.
Wait for the remake. Pathologic is a dreadful and depressing experience from a written perspective but also from a gameplay perspective too.
You might want to wait of since the remake will be out in autumn. Then again, there's supposedly a whole different game so maybe it's better play this first.
If I was to describe the game for someone, it's like if you put in the world-building and pacing of Morrowind and gave it the time-management and the atmosphere of impeding doom from Majora's Mask. It's an amazing game if you like those two games.
I want a sandwich
>50p for a sandwich
maybe in the clearance aisle at 10pm
...
>some little bitch shit comes from nowhere and wants to claim his father's legacy
>doesn't know shit about local customs besides what he skims through in his father's notes
>starts harvesting valuable fucking herb like goddamn
>struts around the abattoir like he runs the place
>wants to fuck around with Suok - the root of all evil just for some panacea bullshit
>You're the foreman and you're tired of his shit
>Get antagonized for it
Foreman did nothing wrong and you know it
>kill esteemed menkhu
>completely botch sacrifice of bos primigenius
>pretend like nothing is wrong
>angry when new warden comes along
wew oynon
don't
it's walking simulator for 99% of the game
the character dialogue is barely improved
you will probably need to use a walkthrough past day 11
the combat and hit detection are really bad, enjoy shooting while standing perfectly still at a thief's head only to have it register 50% of the time
getting infected is annoying as fuck
did I mention the walking? even if you sprint everywhere it's still going to be 90% walking
this game is fucking overrated as fuck, watch a LP of it and see for yourself if you don't believe me. it has the most autistic defense force of a fanbase too, give it a neg review and people will come out of the woodwork to scream at you.
So what was the actual cause of the outbreak? I played almost to the end of bachelor path. Was it polyhedron?
I remember in the Bachelor playthrough you pull down the polyhedron. But I've also heard people say that the true cause is revealed in Clara's route and that the other two were doing more damage than good.

IIRC the tower thingy at the one side of town with the magical children in it has a root anchoring it that runs underneath (at a 45 degree angle sorta) the town and that dug up the sand plague or some shit and you have to knock down the tower to save the town. if you even make it that far you probably don't even care what the reasoning is because the game is a cryptic pile of bullshit
>>is walking simulator 99%
Nope.
>>dialogue barely improved
Are you fucking blind ?
>>Combat is bad
That's true
>>Getting infected is annoying
That's the point.
found the defense force
were you the one who wrote the 2 paragraph diatribe on my negative review? I bet you were
get a life, this game is barely a game and it's awful
>getting infected is annoying as fuck
You can avoid getting infected fairly easily (besides plot infections), simply keep your immunity 100%. Once you walk through a plague cloud it'll drop but you won't get infected first time, just make sure to get it back to 100% right after.
You need to understand that the town is living creature and the tower is like dagger piercing into the flesh. The desease is just gangrene that infected the wound. Tower is the cause of the infection but removing it might be fatal to the body.
b-but it's a low budget slav game so it must be good.
can you explain some things from the game to me real quick? i've played through all the scenarios and i still don't feel like i understand the story entirely.
as i understand it, the earth gave birth to the town, the town gave birth to the tower, and the tower is now killing the earth, so the earth sent the plague in the form of Clara to destroy the town. the bachelor and haruspex believe the plauge is underneath the town, seeping through from the wound made by the polyhedron. bachelor's solution is then to get rid of the town and rebuild on the other side of the river, the haruspex instead thinks to destroy the tower and close the wound, preserving the town. clara instead decides to keep both and sacrifice the bound to maintain the balance, going against the earth's wishes but keeping the plague alive. is this basically it?
also: on the wiki it labels everyone with a colour, body part, and animal. the colours make sense for the children, i remember them talking about it in haruspex's epilogue, but i have no idea where the information for the rest is coming from. i guess this is just curiosity more than anything, but if you have any insight i'd be glad to hear it.
The body parts were the body parts of a bull if I recall correctly, as the town itself is the bull (see image and compare to town map).
