Pokey was the real final boss though, as he was in Mother 2. wish they reminded you of the block command before this fight, as i had forgotten it was somewhat annoying.
In my heart of hearts I really wish you had a real fight with him, actually beating sense into him.

But in M3 they went a little overboard and it drags a lot at the very end

You should have fought Claus first, make him join you, and THEN fight Pokey with Claus.
Always left the final fight for the end.
