>games that genuinly impressed you
I knew there was a plot twist but i must say this was well made. The gameplay is quite dated tho.

yeah this needs a remaster eventually with better stealth gameplay
Was much better than I thought it would be, but what really "impressed" me was the level with the time mechanic. That shit was fun as hell.
I like the game as a shooter but the plot is lofty b/s.
Best fps in a long time. Even the mp is great, never get tired of seeing a robot shoot down from the skies and then you jump into it.
try the other way around idiot
>I like
>you fucked up
???
It's not a good shooter, it's the story and the visual esthetics that are good.
Great soundtrack
Great soundtrack, great atmosphere, great setting, cool story, shitty and tedious gameplay.
Still worth checking out imo
Possibly the most overrated game on Sup Forums
Is it overrated when there's a good deal of hate for it posted on every thread?
Inside
I like generic cover shooters.
to be overrated the game has to be popular in the first place. or bad. Neither are true for spec ops.
Insides ending made my confused as fuck, but i laughed at the same time fucking around as a human meatball.
Should I get this or Binary Domain
Finally got around to playing it recently but wasn't really impressed, got better towards the end but didn't really have the impact I expected.
op here, just pirate both. It impressed me and the story was dope but i wouldnt pay more than 9 bucks for it.
I see people always bringing up how bad it is that the game forces them through the phosphorous mortar attack on the civilians. That it would be better if the player had a choice. This is confusing to me, because I feel they are missing the point of the game. There can be no choice there for the theme of the game to work.
Walker murders like five hundred people in this game. The deeper he delves into Dubai, the more twisted he becomes. No bullshit cutscene "saving the orphans" moral action can save him. Every man he murders on his path to Konrad further cements his character. The standard action hero run is - "I played perfectly. I only killed bad guys, therefore my conscience is clean.". That's fantasy, a naive thought that good can come out what the action hero is doing. Spec Ops is a game that mocks its very own genre. The game would have been ruined for me if it was possible to pull off a "good" run.
Everyone cared for the plot twist a lot, I didn't, but I was actually pretty shocked by "The Line" scene.
I mean I expected it, an hour of gameplay before I even thought about how something like that will probably happen, but when it did, somehow it caught me off guard and as I was looking around for a marker to press on, the nignog pushed my character, I flinched and shot him in the chest, and as the realization hit me what it was about I was shooting already thanks to the encouragement of the other character.
Honestly I think that actually works with the twist. You get mad that you had to do it, you're supposed to feel upset.
I gave the game a genuine chance but the gameplay was so mind-numbingly generic that I almost fell asleep an hour in.
I'm sure the plot's all well and good but I just could not force myself play through enough to get to it.
I get annoyed they're criticizing the types of games I play mindlessly when they weren't letting me be more rational.
I felt the same, it doesnt start to get good until chapter 6. I also put it on easy just to run through and get the story.
Its just 4-5 hours of shooting people.
Though I found the visuals a nice distraction.
I always spoil the game for myself but this fucking final twist got me even when i knew what's gonna happen. Spec ops is great too, too bad gameplay is shit.
>We did this already
What did he mean by this?
shitposting aside, was it just meant as a meta joke by the devs, or do you think it had some deeper meaning about walker's psyche?
>click on heads to see the next pretentious loading screen
so great game
>click on heads, don't even get pretentious loading screen
Why do people play shooters
>click on screens and hope others don't click better
man video games are shit
[spoilers]The accepted story, since the writer did that gamespot interview, is that they all died in the helicoper scene in the beginning, everything after is Walkers descent to hell where he relives everything over and over again until he does the fightclub thing and kills his alter ego.
The other theory is that he's stuck in a PTSD world where he tortures himself with the scenario over and over again trying to accept what he did in iraq.[/spoiler]
newfags cant spoiler
consider suicide
If that's true, that's kind of a disappoint. I've never really been fan of those types of stories, I think the story has a lot more impact when you believe it was real, especially if you choose to drop the gun.
>Be a wartard
>learned the mean of "war is hell" by going over it
>that scene happens
>bbq time,fucking missing it
>roasted them out with a big grin
>wait,that's it,we are already done?
>fucking game
>dude, it's all in ur head XD
hmm yeah, great story telling right there
you can just throw in whatever because you never have to actually explain it anyway
>walker made up le test with the hanging guys
>even though you fucking die if you refuse and don't shoot the non-existent snipers
but bruh... bruh... that game over screen is all in your head too! walker just keeps reimaging the same scene until he does it right... holy FUCK we're geniuses *rips bong*
the white phosporous scene was real though! and you should feel bad!
