But will it be Castlekino?
>Things That Will Be Watered Down For New Audiences - 800
The upcoming entry to a crossover fighting game series is known for its assist-centric gameplay.
No, we already have good vampire anime like Hellsing. Which already has a character named Alucard.
Fuck off.
I glanced at the thumbnail and thought it was Harmony fo Despair for PC. Fuck you, OP
>the new lead will be a black man
>female lead will be a black woman
>entire show will be nothing but trannies, women of color and people of color
>only white guy will be Dracula since he's evil
>will be turned into some modern day political story about rising up against white supremacist vampires
Yay!
There is no Castlevania that would work as a show. No constant character chatter, can't adapt the level design at all, can't really go all out since its going to require alot of CGI.
At best, except the most loose story about a Belmont fighting Dracula. Also with romance and a side kick.
Vampire Hunter D is more Castlevania like
It didn't say it was live action.
Though if it is, and all that actually happens I will be pissed.
I would go with Castlevania 3 since it has a motley crew of friendos.
You got Trevor, thief guy, healer lady, and Alucard. That sounds like a good cast of main characters to me.
Why? Is Castlevania still relevant?
> "my father works for konami and said this" tier article
Hellsing Ultimate game when?
This is Netflix's new show announced. Wouldn't put it past them to turn Castlevania into some race thing too.
Its either going to be a vague adaptation of the biggest selling titles, and you autists will cry about it, or it'll be a new story set in the same universe, and you autists will cry about it.
So uh, are we just acting like Castlevania still matters nowadays and this is something we should be worried about?
Castlevania hasn't been a thing for almost a decade now.
Because Jessica Jones wasn't bad enough
I want Femcard to dominate me like I'm a little girl!
How would that work? Hellsing Musou?
Please don't be live action
>The show is being produced and made by morons
>Not to mention NETFLIX ORIGINAL
>"Wow you guys are so entitled and autistic for not liking a shit show"
Okay.
>inb4 live action
>inb4 Lords of Shadow based
Half of the characters are going to be black or brown for no reason.
I hope it is desu
I don't want this shit associated with Castlevania proper
I kinda liked Lords of Shadow.
The first one at least.
Yeah but they'd probably fuck it up by making Trevor a buff meathead, Grant some dumbass pirate, Alucard some huge sissy and Sypha the only competent one.
Guess Pachinko machines aren't working out for Konami.
How was Jessica Jones a "Race thing"
I liked LoS, it has actual real theatrical actors behind it so it could work especially since Robert Carlyle loved his role as Gabriel.
>being produced and made by morons
Where are you getting this information from? Just a typical NEET loser shitting his pants about whatever you can find
>Sup Forums started this safe space generation
>shit show
what was your least favorite episode
It will probably be animated by Frederator
Holy shit! They're going with the Warren Ellis script which means it's based on motherfucking DRACULA'S CURSE. This thing has been in development hell for eons
i didn't say entitled. i just meant that regardless of what it turns out being, even if it turns out to be a quality series in its own right, a portion of the fanbase will be dissatisfied. That goes for any video game being adapted to film or tv.
Seems kind of fucking random though. I mean, I like Castlevania, but out of all the video game franchises to pick from, they chose that? Has really had much relevance for some time, specifically since Lords of Shadow 2 bombed. Wouldn't it have just been easier to go with something like MGS or some shit.
>Why?
Maybe someone at Frederator had a cool idea.
Or more likely, Netflix commissioned it after observing some common trends in their users, as is the case for most original content they put out.
There's two black people in it
...
Except he's right. People are either going to bitch relentlessly about how it's some hackneyed adaptation of a game, or it will either just be a brand new thing set in the castlevania universe/style, regardless of whether it's good or bad. In the end, people will ree the fuck out and whine.
>Netflix
youtube.com
MGS doesn't need a show. The games are all fucking movies anyway.
*hasn't
>vampire sub-genre
He's talking about Twilight and shit, right?
If its a vague adaption, then it could just be a new IP that won't need to clutch on a fairly small fanbase anyways. Its just a lazy way to get small details in writing out of the way for you, but then you have to explain all the shit to new audiences anyways.
If its the latter, then it doesn't need to be Castlevania. Get the Van Helsing rights or make up another Dracula story because it wouldn't be Castlevania like we know it.
Really activates my almonds.
Twilight, True Blood
aka vampires are feminine and have deep sexual undertones
>netflix
>tfw watching Black Mirror right now
Bretty gud
>satirical
It's fucked. Abandon ship.
kek, everyone is top ham in LoS. True to form for Castlevania I guess, but still
So then Alucard is going to be kind of like that but with overt anti-fujoshi mannerisms now and then.
That's a show making fun of SJWs
If people are going to bitch about it regardless, for being another shitstain on a beloved franchise, why give it the go-ahead to get made anyway?
Why not make your own original series instead of taking something just for the name and vague plot alone?
>top ham
Intentionally, and that's why Carlyle said he loved it.
But it isn't.
The season Netflix produced is the worst of the 3 though, so Netflix can't take credit for Black Mirror
All Netflix has is House of Cards, which has dropped in quality, and... ?
>SJWs
Can this meme just die already?
Hellsing is shit desu
>it's real
uh ohhh
You're shit desu
The original movie is boring. Bloodlust was good, though.
Is it really? I heard it was okay. I'm actually watching s2e1 right now and have s3 downloaded
>for being another shitstain on a beloved franchise
Quit projecting your pessimism into the situation. You're writing the show off before we know anything about it, and that's the whole point of free market, and creative thought. Some shit works, some shit doesn't. Won't ever know if you don't try.
Be more a interesting person user.
>it's based on Lords of Shadow
Kill yourself, you contrarian shitter.
What about homosexuals? What percentage of the cast is closet and how often do we get to see gay men kissing?
Lords of Shadow isn't as bad as people make it out to be, although Mirror of Fate should've been a metroidvania game.
Why not just an anime adaptation? Something like Vampire Hunter D or some shit.
S3 is by far the worst. The only redeeeming episode is S3E3 the rest are average but desu i quite liked S3E2 was pretty comfy for what it was
>All Netflix has is House of Cards
Narco's and Stranger Things are quite good as well
LoS would actually work extremely well as TV series.
Also criminally underrated.
wait is this that r-rated western-made anime adaption of Dracula's Curse that they announced a few years back?
Yes, they're using Warre Ellis' original script he wrote for that.
It's been in development hell since no studio wanted to touch this, but it seems Netflix decided to reach out to them and give them the money.
>Optimistic about a videogame Live Action Netflix original show
I'd like to say that I admired your optimism but I think you've hit way over into the delusional side of the scale.
They could just make it a retelling of SoTN except with some autistic liberties like having Death harass Alucard throughout the whole show instead of just at the beginning and the end to give a reoccurring enemy. They could even reuse props and sets for the inverted castle, cutting costs.
cant get any worse than their death note
fucking a man I was wondering what had happened to that. I always wished for years that Dracula's Curse would get some sort of modern adaption, game or not.
It's animated by Frederator. Don't they mostly do kid's stuff?
>dark, satirical
What does that even mean?
Here's something that I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone point.
>Watch somebody from Castlevania's Belmont family fighting bloodsuckers
>The pic has three protagonists that aren't even from the Belmont Clan.
This bothers me more than it should.
IT'S BASED ON DRACULA'S CURSE, WITH AN R-RATED SCRIPT BY WARREN ELLIS, WHO IS ACTUALLY A VERY GOOD WRITER AND IT MEANS THIS IS IN GOOD HANDS.

READ THIS
Its confirmed to be Animated, and its most likely going to be based off Castlevania III, since the writer of this series was working on a Castlevania III movie like 4 years ago.
they do but I didn't know they were onboard. I just remember seeing a tweet from some dude a few years back saying they were going to do a really dark and violent adaption of CV3.
A Series of Unfortunate events weren't relevant but they still made a series on that on Netflix
might b gud
HAHA TIME TO REPLAY CV1 AND CV3 ON MY 3DS
I haven't seen Stranger Things but I assume with the pick up of season 2 it will have 1 good season and just become shit afterwards.
>tfw that CV3 animated adaption that you heard about when you were 13 on the Castlevania Dungeon is actually getting made, 14 years later.
>Transmetropolitan
hnng but why is he doing vidyashit
Welp guess I'll find out whenever I get to it. I hear the Christmas special is the best, and even interconnects the episodes a bit
Do you not know what satire means?
>all the controversy over Light being cast as a white person died as soon as L was cast as a black dude
>confirmed to be Animated
Interest renewed
I can't fucking wait to see Grant. He was one of my favorite CV characters and he's always been criminally overlooked.
Yeah White Christmas is definitely a top 3 episode and a few of the episodes have parts that interconnect but that doesn't matter much, they're more or less easter eggs.
Top 3 are White Christmas > 15 Million Merits > Entire History of You ANYONE who tells you San Junipero is a good episode is a fucking retard
10 bucks that they're not gonna include the "what is a man" quote
And it's easily the worst steaming pile of shit Netflix has made specifically for their service.
Season One is pretty damn good if you ignore how terrible Winona Ryder's acting is, but honestly a second season is going to ruin it.
Let's play a game, Sup Forums. It's called shit-bingo.
Let's count the things that'd make you cringe about this series, if they happened, and WILL probably happen, considering the director is a comic book writer with a penchant for edgy.
Let's see:
>Ugly succubi with man-faces, and take the prostitute to the maximum. Obligatory scene with a harem of the things that fails to be titillating.
>Evil bishop major villain, and reference to the crusades. God is as bad as Dracula.
>Excess of awkward sex scenes, for the sake of HBO rating.
>Sypha is now a generic action girl with pony-tail and long-sword. No sign of magic. "We want the strong women audience. Sypha Japan wasn't strong enough."
>Alucard is ugly as shit, and gets two lines.
What else?
>Warren Ellis writer
>R-Rated
>Animated
>based on Dracula's Curse
T H R E A D
H
E
M
E
>Grant is downgraded to comic relief
Why dont they just let Japs do it?
