Fuck catfights
This.
>tfw just hit chapter 7
After all that real estate grinding I am so fucking happy to be done with Kiryu for a whole. Still more interested in Majima's story, but that last Nishiki scene was brutal.
Those legs are man legs
I got five mil in baseball. Do I still need to go back and do it for anything else, or am I done?
It just feels too easy to be over that soon.
I didn't sign up for that ending, dammit.
the epilogue was cute, though.
Kiryu's posing and the triumphant Top Gun music after you BTFO of some 7 year old in pocket circuit is the best.
Just beat it an hour ago. Honestly the best Yakuza game to date hands down.
The last few hours of the game will have you by the balls.
Can someone give me a quick rundown of a move list for the legend styles?
I really cant figure out how to use the heat moves for kiryus and i hear he has 5 for dragon of dojima and ive only done 2
As for mad dog of sotenbori ive only down the 3 takedown stabs and the hand stabs
>ai uehara shows up
>recognize her and chuckle
>wife was watching me play and asked what I was laughing about
>n-nothing
...
Who else /CannotGoOutEvenOnceInMahjong/ here?
haven't played all of the series, are there any instances where you fight an actual woman?
I refuse to play Mahjong, it's fucking magic to me.
Breaker style is so fun.
>mfw meeting Ryuji in 0
Big even as a 6th grader.
You fight transgenders every now and again if you wanna count that.
I have a question about Yakuza 1.
Am I doing the right thing by leveling each stat equally and when am I gonna start getting Toku moves?
Where is the kamurocho investment guy?
in the bar, where you can play pool
Bretty gud.
I have no idea what I'm doing with it. I can never seem to score anything but I also never lose points either. I just keep coming in 3rd.
i want to fuck the pleasure king
You know what I still don't understand. How does Kiryu manage to rise up in the ranks in the Dojima family between Yakuza 0 and 1 when he basically fucked Dojima up the ass in 0.
>nishiki being a total fucking bro in 0
it just makes 1 that much sadder
The same reason the Italian mafia promoted self-destructive leaders during the 80's, because he has a reputation that scares other families.
Especially in Kiwami since they added stuff to his fight.
>Have to beat the media king at disco
>if you lose you either have to quit to the ps4 menu and restart the game or wait through 2 conversations and load the game again
This progress quest mobile game bullshit is the only bad thing about Yakuza 0.
...
I really want to play Yakuza games, should I emulate them on PCSX2 or burn DVDs and play on PS2?
Kiwami was great. I mean, the new soundtrack sucked for me, the boss healing mechanic was annoying, Majima everywhere was annoying after a while, but I still appreciated seeing 1 again with a fresh coat of paint and overhauled gameplay, even if it was just a cut and paste job from 0 with some minor refinements.
Re-recorded dialogue is great (not like I played the original Japanese dub anyway), additional cutscenes are cool, voiced cutscenes for some substories/events are cool as well. And Yui Hatano is a bonus too.
There might be some bad Yakuza games, but they're still good video games. Even Dead Souls has its merits.
Nishiki fight had the best QTEs in the game. I went back and purposely failed them just so Nishiki could have his moments.
>Thank You, Reina!
I'm still dissapointed I can't run around with Nishiki in post-game as a replacement for Haruka.
lol nishki was a bitch i just used dance style and destroyed him
>reina tries to hit me with a bottle
>fails and majima says nice swing
prolly the reason why nishki killed her in 1
also why did majima call her mama?
isnt she the same age as nishki
>he bullied the weakest boss in the game
You have no soul.
>run around with Nishiki in post-game as a replacement for Haruka
That's fucking genius. It could've been doable too, just add in some extra voiceless dialogue lines/banter whenever you get your bro meter up doing stuff together.
>Running around Kamurocho as Nishiki
>Get into a fight near Serena
>Short little cutscene plays (like when your security helps you) where Kiryu steps in to help you out ("Let's do this!")
"Mama" is a nickname for a proprietress of a bar/snack bar.
>the weak should fear the strong.png
Holy shit cabaret club is fun as fuck. Why didn't anyone tell me? This is way better than real estate.
Tell us how much you like it after six hours of it.
>burn DVDs and play on PS2
I much prefer active grinding like this over shit like real estate where you just wait around until you can collect and upgrade again. Plus you get some good music and cute girls.
>tfw thought Climax Battles were about replaying boss fights
I shouldn't have overwritten that save after the final fight with Kuze.
there's a woman disguised as a man in a substory for yakuza 3 that you fight
i think she has the smallest hp bar of any enemy of the series too
Play on PCSX2 obviously.
If you have an option - always go for PS2.
just take the loss and move on
its not like getting that 10% back is hard
Yep. You fight Naile in 4 as Tanimura for training.
Surprisingly good theme for a side character.
Akiyama's random battle theme in 4 is so fucking good. I forgot how kickass it was.
yumi a qt
I only JUST now discovered the magazine rack in the convenience stores what the hell? How much of the series shown on the covers are real? The ones like Bad Boys and Locke the Superman are real I know that much but I can't place the first two. Because I really want to try and find "Surgeon Kenshiro" from the WSJ one.
All of them are real.
In other news, the full version of Kuze's theme has such fucking godlike buildup.
The clerk at the Sotenbori Don Quixote sounds like Billy West.
Anyway, where do I need to get the Oden for the woman in white?
>How much of the series shown on the covers are real?
Considering that usually in Yakuza games in Japan all magazines are readable, all of them should be real.
You could read them in 5, right? I swear I remember reading them.
I remember something like that in 5. They were unavailable in 3 and 4. Looks like in 0 too.
I think M Store
Holy shit, was that woman in white seriously a goddamn ghost? They didn't even react to the tape.
Yeah, dunno why I didn't think to check there before asking.
It's supposed to be a reference to The Ring
You could read manga yeah. It wasn't translated though.
Oh, I got the reference, I'm just surprised that it went that way.
How is "soy sauce face" the opposite of "sauce face"? Are these even real phrases? That shit doesn't make sense.
i was stumped by this myself and basically its 80s (not sure if its relevant now) slang originating from japan (as you might suspect)
basically, a soy sauce face is a face with your average japanese features
a sauce face is a face with western facial features, especially a darker complexion
and a salt face is just your average face with asian features
Oh, that actually kinda makes sense. Pretty interesting.
japannewbie.com
>People with sauce faces have deep facial features.
>As for Soy Sauce faces, they’re the opposite of sauce faces. Soy sauce is kind of light, and thin.
Goddamn you guys weren't kidding about Ms. Isobe. Wish I had thought to do the disco as Majima earlier but at least I can move on from caba-clubbing since I took down Club Moon.
I just ground it out. I am a mahjong novice, but I just tried to keep it simple. I focused on the 250,000 yen group, because the highest tier kept blowing me the fuck out.
I kept it simple by just going for the 3 the row batches, with a pair. Whenever I would get a 1 or 9 of a specific type, I would usually toss it. Using either 1 or 9 limited my results because it cages you in. Never pon or chi when prompted, as you get more points from concealed hands.
Also, slam on the square button for Riichi. You might be very close to a winning hand without knowing it and it will automatically play for you. After that it is all luck. I never chanced it after a round was over and cashed it out.
I'm sure there is better advice but this worked for me.
...
>slam on the square button for Riichi
Well shit, is that how you do it? And here I assumed the AI was so rigged that they could call Riichi after two hands while I've been given nothing but pon and chi chances.
How do you go out with a straight 1-9 of the same suit? I had the nine tiles but couldn't make anything out of the leftovers.
I love all the funny side stories.
Outrun is the worst arcade mini game in Yakuza. Fuck that shitty game.
40 hours and I just got to chapter 7. Spent a shitload of time to finish the real estate stuff and all substories, and I'm assuming I'll have to do the same with Goro now. How long did you guys take to finish it? Wanna try to get it done before Nioh arrives on Friday, but it's too fun to dick around completing random shit.
I finished it around 60 hours because I completed the entire real estate venture and most of Kiryu's substories beforehand.
Yes, you can constantly push square with no consequences when you turn arrives. A prompt will come up so you can't miss it.
Regarding the 1-9 same suit, I got the rest to win through luck alone. I believe you can use chi out of your opponent's discards, but honestly after I got lucky I was over it. Hopefully someone else can give better advice on it.
I fucking love I'm Gonna Make Her Mine.
>that ending
This really was Majima's game, with Kiryu just acting as an anchor too keep it from being too crazy. Real state was boring as hell too. Thankfully managing Club Sunshine and hiring sluts is a lot more fun.
Because Dojima would rather have him on their side that against them.
I'm not sure if it's the same in Japan, but "Mama" is what you call the owners of bars, clubs, and brothels in Thailand.
I'm almost 80 hours in on Chapter 11 but I've unlocked both battle styles and keep getting distracted by all the random shit I can do. Going to at least finish the storyline before I crack open my copy of Nioh.
>have no idea how to play mahjong or any of the casino games
>they take up the most space out of any other minigame in the completion list
I'm 60 hours in on chapter 5. Going to actually try to do everything on the completion list this time.
Is it just me, or does Majima run faster than Kazuma?
65 hours on chapter 7. I've been trying to fill out the completion list, which I'm 61% through with right now.
I'm trying to 100% this before BotW comes out and I'm slowly starting to believe I can't do it in time
Probably has something to do with Sotenbori being a lot smaller than Kamurocho.
Outrun is fucking great you loser.
B A K A M I T A I
I don't want to play the dubbed original if the remake is coming this summer, but it's a while till then. Is 0 a good point to get into the series or should I wait for Yakuza Kiwami?
I'm playing a yakuza game for the first time and it's yakuza 5. Why is it so highly rated? It's repetitive with boring gameplay and a story for teenage girls.
Sure the couple of minigames are fun but that's all. The fights are so boring that you could literally close your eyes and still win.
Because Haruka is C-U-T-E!!
Holy shit what the fuck is wrong with Saki's voice.
why is bat Majima so based? its just to fucking strong.
are there any weapon or repecis worth getting in the game?
yuki is love. yuki is live.
SHINE SHINE SUNSHINE (KIMI NO SUNSHINE)
HOO HOO HOO *clapclapclap*
Maybe because his father is basically 2nd boss of the family. And defeat 2 lieutenants must gain him some respect too
I'm doing the hostess thing with Majima and i'm now conquering the third club area and just now realized that you can "partner" with other clubs, but i just don't see it as necessary
Or is it?
Because it's a man, yeah.
Whats is your address? I want to send you a noose and a webcam.
alright lads
who should i bet on vs the gambling king
jennifer v momoko, fransisca v sayuri, yukiko v yurie, or rei v maria
kodomo na no ne...
Always bet Jennifer.
fuck you user i lost
The last set is. I think there's even one with all the Kuze fights in a row.
