Because you have to raise some arbitrary number to feel like a "pro" at a game that's designed from the ground up to be as accessible as possible.

Not true at all. I have teammates who pick tanks and healers instead of picking torbjorn. I know for a fact they're better than the torbjorn.
I've had people shout in other games but nowhere near to the level in this game
In reality the Torb player is a smurf of a grandmaster that wants to play alternative characters without harming his SR or reputation.

People really over estimate themselves and under value others. They never consider that people aren't playing who they are best at because they chose who was beset for the team. Or that maybe the other team just has some damn good players.
Or that who they are good at isn't the best against the enemy team so they are stuck with 2nd best options. Or that they aren't any better.
Probably a good idea. WoW and other games have taught me that higher level and longer hours logged do not make a better player.
This is why I don't bother with competitive mode in games like this. Why stress yourself out trying to be "competitive" in a game that's made to NOT be competitive?
Play widow and shoot full charge rounds at a wall while standing next to the person you are trying to grief.

Is the forced 50 meme real? For every 2 good games I get 1 bad game guaranteed. If I somehow god forbid manage a 3 game winstreak Blizzard seems to bless my team with people that just had a 3 game loss streak and are sour and angry as fuck.
