What is the worst possible way to die in a video game?
I got to say it's a tie between having your space visor shattered and aaphyxiting while your blood vessels that get exposed all explode from the dramatic change in pressure. Or a having substance being forced into your stomach until it bursts open and said substance then fills the rest of your body's cavities crushing your remaining organs.
I'd say having a undead alien organism vomit corrosive acid into your mouth takes the cake for me
Gavin Moore
Burning to death. I have had 3rd degree burns and I rank them as a 10 on my personal pain scale. When you get burned you constantly feel intense pain, unlike other kinds of injuries. So burning to death would be constant agony on every inch of your body until you die and before you die knowing that you will not survive.
Jack Jenkins
Same as in real life: drowning.
Asher Garcia
Carlos from Saint's Row 2, dude was dragged behind a car.
Or Jackie from Sleeping Dogs.
Mason Morgan
Whatever that shit that killed Dimitri in Black Ops was.
Nathan Evans
Drowning is just a feeling of discomfort combined with panic, but then you just drift off. Its pretty peaceful if you can get over the panic.
I don't find the idea of my basic biological need betraying me, causing me to swallow my lungs and stomach full of liquid, causing potential explosion of said organs, exactly comforting nor "drifting off".
Cameron King
Yeah its over in seconds. Like being beheaded. People don't realize you are out like a light after 10 seconds.
Elijah Rivera
Sounds like you are speaking from experience drowning?
Jackson Ward
>having your space visor shattered and aaphyxiting while your blood vessels that get exposed all explode from the dramatic change in pressure It's nowhere near that bad. You'd go unconscious within seconds and barely feel a thing.
And you would know this because you've experienced it or have data showing this happened to someone in space?
Because I'm pretty sure no one has died in space yet due to exposure to the vacuum of it. We've had many other deaths, but they were suffocation or death by fire.
Eli Hill
Hey, you're fucking right. I almost drowned once when I was 7 and I remember a peaceful feeling while watching the light going through the water. After that I had to throw out all the water so it got pretty bad.
Getting eaten alive by a monster. Just the thpught of it ripping body parts or your insides out and just eating it while you watxh, still conscious and not having the luck to pass out from ahock is a really fucking horrible way to go.
Yes, and there was actually a little time window where I felt like I didn't need air anymore and I was comfortable.
>Yeah its over in seconds. Like being beheaded. The problem with beheading is the brain remains alert a while after the decapitation, so people experience the feeling of being trapped in their own head. For some on hand examples I remember an experiment in head transplantation of monkeys where the transplanted head was showing brain activity and stimulus response but could not send nerve impulses. Another example was a french execution where one of the severed heads was found to have bit another.
If drowning is so chill why do people use water boarding as a method of torture
Hudson Jenkins
There has only been one fatal accident in the history of space science, it was simple suffocation due to loss of pressure in the cabin.
What we learn from science fiction about depressurization is really wrong though. There is no expanding of bodies, no bursting blood vessels, you really do simply suffocate.
Jaxon Adams
IMAGINE
Asher Ross
This just makes me want to fucking go to spacewars. I'd kick ass in this shit.
Christopher Ross
!OH SHIT NIGGER! IS IT TIME FOR... W A X W O R K S? A X W O R K S ? youtu.be/axqRgDkWXA0
Jaxson Bailey
How would the extreme change in pressure not cause tissue damage or rupturing? I'm not talking about gaseous expansion, or a person's body exploding like the Byford Dolphin incident. But you're not going to be able to stay out in space like you're under water.
Brody Hughes
Demonophobia/Xenophobia That game with the kid with the tesla gun Dead Space
All pretty brutal death scenes. By the way what is that game with the kid with the tesla gun on PS1? I just can't remember.
Cameron James
Well the byford dolphin accident was an instantaneous massive change in pressure of like 8-9 atmospheres, that's immense.
The difference in space is completely different, as opposed to extreme pressure, it's the absence of pressure entirely. So while the human body isn't built to survive it, our skin would still keep our insides inside. Although it's theorized you could hemorrhage from your eyes and .....other orifices, though.
Robert Peterson
Dying to a boss with just one more hit to go in any game really. I don't care about your set pieces or phobias. This wins as it gets you the most angry and is therefore the worst possible death.
Stuff like that is actually cool. You look at it and go 'Heh, neat.' Which is why those 'Every death in Dead Space' videos exist on YT.
Immense doesn't even begin to cover it. It's worse than exposure to space. It's worse than exposure to being on VENUS and being on Venus will kill you really fucking quickly and painfully.
What happened was one of the worst things that a human can go through.
Lincoln James
Going from 1 ATM to a vacuum is bad but it isn't explosively bad. It's documented that you pass out within seconds.
Going from 10 atmospheres to 1 on the other hand is going to fucking destroy you. In said cited example a grown man was pulled through a hole the size of your foot.
Samuel Foster
Damn i'm sorry user. Burn scars can be fucking life changing.
Ryan Barnes
I used to have a freind in high school who suffered burns around her chest and neck when she was a teenager in a boat fire. She had to have skin grafts and lost her nipples, which is pretty freaky, she had like smooth breasts after the grafts.
Jaxon Gray
>Subsequent investigation by forensic pathologists determined Hellevik, being exposed to the highest pressure gradient and in the process of moving to secure the inner door, was forced through the 60 centimetres (24 in) in diameter opening created by the jammed interior trunk door by escaping air and violently dismembered, including bisection of the thoracoabdominal cavity which further resulted in expulsion of all internal organs of the chest and abdomen except the trachea and a section of small intestine and of the thoracic spine and projecting them some distance, one section later being found 10 metres (30 ft) vertically above the exterior pressure door.
>forced through the 60 centimetres in diameter opening
surely he'd have died instantly right? Theres absolutely no way you could survive such catastrophic damage for more than an instant
Levi Price
Sounds genuinely terrible. Things like that can shatter a persons confidence and self esteem. at least if she stars in Jav porn she doesn't have to censor herself
Carson Harris
You wot? Your nerves are quickly destroyed if you are on fire.
Charles Reed
They all died instantly minus the guy that survived.
Whereas pressure dropping from 101.3 kPa to 0.1 will make you pass out within a few seconds, going from 912 kpA to 101.3 is just gonna fucking absolutely annihilate you.
Like that wiki page said. Their blood boiled inside them. Their brains were de-oxygenated and they instantly blacked out the millisecond it happened. At best they might have had just enough time to realize something was happening before they died.
Zachary Collins
>She had to have skin grafts and lost her nipples, which is pretty freaky, she had like smooth breasts after the grafts. Thats pretty whack. Did you ever actually see them or what?
Jayden White
>The problem with beheading is the brain remains alert a while after the decapitation, so people experience the feeling of being trapped in their own head Utter bullshit. Now I know for sure you're talking out your ass. I'd postulate at most that the moment your spine is severed, for a few seconds your brain isn't exactly aware that its body is dead, but then its too late. Brain death and clinical death are two different things. I can't say this with any surety because I've never been beheaded, but uts a theory. Finally, drowning is verifiably one of the worst ways to die, so far as we can know. Even in a state of semi consciousness, the brain is still panicking and will make all attempts to save itself, even to the point of self harm. Absolute terror and animal panic. Suicide drowners, who often bind themselves in some fashion to reduce survivability, are often found with broken limbs and extremities depending on the bindings, especially fingers and fingernails. Its one of the most fucked up things I've had the pleasure of seeing and considering. At most you'll be lucky to be knocked out from pressure or go into shock. Otherwise you're likely to suffer.
Brandon Lopez
Man I would fucking hate to die from a venomous bite with no way to treat it in time. The shock usually isn't enough to kill you quickly like a egregious wound or burning but the feeling of dread and isolation as the effects of the toxin gradually kill you would frighten the shit out of me. It'd be like having a bad heart attack but you live alone and don't have the strength to get to the phone so you just lay down and die, but drawn out for an hour+
Jordan Flores
you are an extremely funny person and I laughed way too hard at this
Henry Lopez
I actually did see her naked yeah. I know it sounds horrible but i actually thought it was kinda cool, like Blade Runner in a freaky way.
Logan Taylor
are you going to make her your girl?
Asher Long
Depending on where you're bitten its possible to isolate and elevate the area so that the bites venom doesn't flow back into your heart
thats only if its on an extremity though, good luck doing shit if you get bitten on the neck or something
Jace Stewart
I imagine anything involving a hand saw just because it will take a while to grind through whatever it is, whether its your skull neck or torso.
Logan Green
Dying while being Anthony Burch.
Wyatt Brown
...
Samuel Jones
God i just remembered a really fucking horrible one from reality, not from a game. The worst way i can think of to die.
The mossdale cavern accident. Was a bunch of cavers in a cave that you need to navigate on your stomach, it's so incredibly tight. One of England's hardest cave treks.
6 people all down there, crawling through this pitch black claustrophobic nightmare (For fun, because some people are clearly insane) and there was a sudden thunderstorm.
The cavern filled up with water in minutes, drowning them all inside.
Imagine it....you know they would have heard the thunder down there, and know what it meant. Knowing that there was no way they could possible crawl out in time before the cavern filled. Fucking shivers.
Being eaten by the guant centipede in the official game.
Chase Stewart
Good joke. They don't censor nipples in JAV, though. Or the anus for that matter.
Blake Perry
That sounds fucking horrible
In terms of caving accidents, however, I think I can do you one better
Liam Taylor
>This thread again with the cave deaths and the guys in the diving explosive decompression chamber
Not that im complaining but we need more death stories
Jace Sanchez
Been there, done that
Seriously she's a sweetheart though, and it was years ago. She's in the music industry now.
Jack Hill
I'd argue living while being Anthony Burch is the greater tragedy.
Nolan Stewart
this. nothing tops this shit.
Nathaniel Rodriguez
I feel happy that she is living a good life
Kayden Peterson
What really sucks about burns is that in order to heal, all of the dead tissue needs to be removed after the burn.
That depends on the intensity of the heat and the presence of an accelerant (also its type). Slow roasting on a spit is different then evaporating in the corona sphere of the sun.
>Brain death and clinical death are two different things. Very much so, and when the brain does not die or immediately lose consciousness what do you think happens? I'll give you a hint: People unfortunate enough to encounter landmines or other explosives can lose all of their limbs and a portion of their torso but survive and remember the experience. >Finally, drowning is verifiably one of the worst ways to die, so far as we can know. > Absolute terror and animal panic. That's a nice opinion, but I never said is wasn't bad or that panic is not a factor, just that if the panic subsides it is peaceful.
She did tell me about the surgery to remove her scar tissue, and yeah it sounds like a fucking nightmare. She had burns over like 60% or her breasts/collar, and had to have a lot of flesh debrided before they could even think about reconstructive work or plastic surgery.
She told me the doctor used the words 'you'll lose 'definition' in her breasts' which she was later told meant losing her nipples. Bad day, i'm sure.
Lucas Diaz
this is bullshit you dont only have nerves in your skin get informed
Dylan Sullivan
any death from metal slug
Angel Torres
No you, the nerves in your epidermis are quickly destroyed, after some agonizing seconds, you'll just pass out anyways.
