Why is Danny so based?
Edmund doesn't want you to hear this!
youtube.com
I can't play the game with music turned on because it's so repetitive to be honest
Why did.he compose for rebirth?
I heard Danny and Edmund got mad at each other for some reason but never found out why or if this is true at all.
Danny is a miracle of the universe
Potentially due to them being on different sides of GG, but given Edmund had a much larger team for rebirth it's reasonable that he'd get someone else as part of the new team.

underrated music
who was wich side ?
Jesper Kyd keeps pumping some of them out.

Edmund rejecting the indie circlejerk and Danny being on reasonable terms with a bunch of literally whos. Neither were particular involved, but it's enough for some bad blood when the issue comes up.
that would be this one though youtube.com
Ridiculon's stuff is better anyway, or that might be my bias talking of having to associate with the original version of BoI before Rebirth.
Good god it was so fucking ugly in retrospect, if the game was shit it would have been dropped 7 ways into the abyss by everyone
That wasn't the reason. The reason was Edmund was experimenting with different composers for Mewgenics when that game was being developed and Danny assumed he was going to be the composer, but when he found out Rid was doing the music for it, they both had a hissy fit, thus why Rid did the music to Rebirth.
GG was a dark time and a n embarassment for the indie community
When Edmund announced he wanted to remake Isaac and showed 4 different images with different styles I thought they all looked worse and the flash style was cool.
Looking back at the game, it looks like complete shit.
I still think Danny's music is better than Rebirth's though.
DannyB > Mudeth >>>>> Rid

music which invokes the "oh shit i'm going to die" feeling is the best.
Battle Garegga's competence in ripping off and improving upon 80s and 90s dance music is severely underrated, at least when compared to the Streets of Rage sereis.
It had some good melodies, but was lacking in polish. I still listen to this cover medley of danny's stuff.
youtube.com
Makes sense. There's a lot of petty shit in the indie community and picking someone else for a job could be taken as a personal insult.
Overall it's an amazing soundtrack though I agree.
Speaking of Follin

That's the good shit
Danny B's has a good melody. No matter what song it is, I can remember its melody, All of it sounded different. I feel the boss music he does however is rather tame, However Satan's and Isaac's boss theme are amazing.
Ridiculon's is more grungy and fits with the tone of Isaac but outside of the Cathedrals Mom's Heart and Satan's theme isn't that memorable.Too much Guitar kinda ruins it.
Mudeth I think is a really good mix of Danny B and Ridiculon's music It feels grungy while also having a great melody, there are some tracks I don't care for but tracks like the boss theme, the sheol theme and the mausoleum are seriously top tier stuff.
I only found out about Battle Garegga's OST when someone played the Plant theme and I fell in love with it. That Sax
>Jesus Christ Tim, I asked for a title screen theme, not Lord of the fucking Rings
Tim is really good at taking what seems to be a simple track and then just BLAM.

..Oh also, anyone else get Rare from this track?
youtube.com
>the best music
>it's on the high score screen of one of the hardest fucking NES games ever
>For fuck's sakes Tim, we asked you to port the soundtrack, not replace it with your own... spooky... thing
youtube.com
youtube.com
>Wh..
>Tim, this is fucking PICTIONARY.
>You know I'm not paying you overtime on this, right?
>Tim, this is a Baseball game, not a beat-em-up... you have watched a Baseball game before, right?
youtube.com
> mfw that part
>Tim, how the fuck did you get Genesis grind out of an SNES?!
>1:42
>this was fucking 1989

Imagine being a child in the 80s being conditioned to video game music being chiptunes, simple bleeps and bloops, and hearing that for the first time
Who stole from who?

Every other Final Fantasy soundtrack pales in comparison to the mastery that this game demonstrates. We will not see its like from Square Enix again.

Why is Antibirth's soundtrack so much better than Rebirth's?
youtube.com
It isn't, though. It's completely unfitting and a pale apeing of Danny's skill. Ridiculon at least does his own thing instead of lapping the heels of a better.
That's Antibirth in a nutshell, though. All flash, no substance.
That's the 1991 version lad, but regardless that's still like 5ish years ahead of it's time.
Now this here was impressive for 1989

Game itself is fine, but even as a SHMUP fan I feel that soundtrack deserved something a bit more special.
youtube.com
This entire fucking soundtrack is retarded good.
Good day to you too, Tyron.
Turbographx Ys 1 and 2 is so fucking cool. fucking amazing soundtrack.
youtube.com
Still my favorite song from the series almost 30 years later.

Buck Jamble: youtube.com
it's fucking insane how Ys sounded like this in 1989, yet other JRPGs took almost a decade to catch up
Also can't forget Maplestory:

Slime Trees: youtube.com
Kerning City: youtube.com
Kinda miss my time with Maplestory, kinda don't...
nah
pretty mediocre to be honest
Nigga you're making me tear up. N64 Rare was my shit, thinking about what's happened to them is like some Greek fucking tragedy.

I dont really understand this sentiment
Things like megacd and tg had disc-based soundtracks, which produced great stuff like
youtube.com
but the chip based music from the snes era was just as good or better, there are definitely more memorable soundtracks from that system
and yes the snes ys3 soundtrack was comparable to the old disc version, compare:

If you want to be pedantic, LaserDisc gaming was a thing in the early to mid 80s.
It blew a few peoples minds before the novelty wore off because these titles had the complexity of DVD menus and gobbled up quarters/cost an arm and a leg if you wanted to play at home.

Man, then there's Black Flag:

Video games might not be art, but they sure do create some beautiful things...
