Is it good?

Is it good?

No.

The visuals are and the side quest tombs. Other than that no.

its fun raiding tombs and shit , but falls flat in the end. A+ visually tho

>Is it good?
It's alright. Has some fun parts, has some boring parts.

The combat is a little more varied now with craftable grenades, exploding arrows and what not.

There are a few actual puzzles in "tombs", not much though. The levels and Lara's ass look nice, but story is forgettable.

7.5/10

No. It's super linear, super scripted, mostly "press X to see cool stuff happen" sort of gameplay with QTEs, occasionally disturbed by enemy shootingrange sections. Movement has no weight.

LP watcher trash.

I haven't bothered finishing it yet. It's not HORRIBLE by any stretch, but there's nothing especially creative or unique about it. The laughably bad story and characters provided the most entertainment.

>Cutscene: "O-ok, you can d-do this, Lara!"
>Player proceeds to slaughter every living creature and armed mercenary on the map.
>Instantly transform back into panting and weak Lara for next cutscene.

yes, locations, mythos(look up kitezh), architecture stealth gameplay is decent enough

plot in itself is mediocre, but setting is good

>>Cutscene: "O-ok, you can d-do this, Lara!"
>>Player proceeds to slaughter every living creature and armed mercenary on the map.
>>Instantly transform back into panting and weak Lara for next cutscene.
no. that's not how rise of tomb raider played out
she didn't have any remorse in second game

It's not as bad as it was in the first game, but there are still a bunch of scenes where you just Rambo'd the shit out of everything with your bomb arrows and assault rifle, only for her to be panting and/or limping into the next cutscene with her pistol in hand.

Also, why can't I just kill that asshole in the shack and take all his shit instead of paying him off with coins?

>Also, why can't I just kill that asshole in the shack and take all his shit instead of paying him off with coins?

Capitalist propaganda.

It's great.

I started it I got about 2 hours into it. But I didn't like the visuals/fps tradeoff the 770 gave me so I'm waiting on getting a new gpu first. purchased it last September. But I might reinstall it and play at at high setting instead of ultra

For you

Is it the same scripted shit as TR 2013?

Really good visuals, just like the first one. Mediocre gameplay compared to legend, just like the first one. Not enough exploration, just like the first one.

it's literally just TR2013 v1.5

Solid game. Don't buy it imo, just torrent it. It's about a 6-8 hour playthrough if you do the side tombs. Far more if you're a collectible fag, but that's a waste of time.

>Is it the same scripted shit as TR 2013?

Combat is better in this one. Tombs have puzzle in them. There is now grinding and crafting aspect that people may enjoy.

it was me or they pretty much followed the same progression as the previous one?

Plot is very standard for action genre in both games.

I found "muh gulags" plot in ROTR to be cringy as fuck. Still enjoyed the game enough to finish it

>mediocre gameplay compared to legend
Did we play the same game? Are you seriously ignoring the awful combat in Legend?

I actually liked croft mansion DLC more than the baseline game

Thank God Rhianna "My dad was Terry Pratchett and he was talented so that means I'm talented as well ecks dee dee dee" Pratchett has left Crystal Dynamics. Maybe now we can actually have a good plot.

similar to uncharted but better gameplay.

maybe it's because they re-did the whole "magic army" stuff and how they slowly appeared in the game reminded me of the previous one

it's garbage

Yeah, they force stupid magic shit in Tomb Raider for a while now.

>gulags in 1970s
>can't pass several steps without "look at how bad were the russians" thrown in your face
>the secret village had slavery and torture, but that's totally fine. it's bad only when russians do it
>central government just abandoning a uranium mine after losing a contact with them and never actually bothering to check what happened to them

Why is a game always garbage or amazing on Sup Forums? Did you ever play an actual garbage game, user?

>central government just abandoning a uranium mine after losing a contact with them and never actually bothering to check what happened to them

That's most plausible thing in the story.

No, because the reason games have bad plots have nothing to do with the writer.

Games' structure and development makes creating good stories for them insanely hard.

played first one and this one. Felt the second actually did less than the first and did what the first one did worse.

They removed fucking yuribait. Now it's bad I was genuinely annoyed they did it

Lara craves dick. Take your queer weaboo lingo elsewhere.

The visuals are pretty good. Best looking game to come out that year. Its also runs extremely well on my 1060 6gb with a constant 60fps on ultra settings.

This time you spend most of your time with that fat guy from the last game , Jonah, instead of your best friend Sam from the first game that you saved in the end. No mention of what the other survivors you saved are doing, which seems kinda weird.

There's more combat variety with you being able to craft smoke bombs, molotovs, grenades and fire bombs. You'll only need smoke bombs though to deal with a new enemy that uses laser sight snipers that can 1 shot kill you if you dont upgrade your health

The environments are more varied with desert, tundra, forest and mountain ranges. Though you'll be spending most of your time in 1 place as it is the center of the plot.

The plot is the classic action movie of finding an artifact of extreme power that will alter all life from a secret agency that existed from the dawn of man that influenced your life without you knowing it. This game has more scripted sequences than the first game due to it being longer.

The one huge problem is that there is nothing to do after beating the story. I 100% the game, but I still had a ton of upgrades to give to my weapons, but the problem was there were so little enemies left and no more tombs to raid that I would have to keep leaving and entering the area to have enemies respawn so I could kill them for loot.

There are 3 new modes if you count DLC which is Endurance, Score Attack and Zombies Mode. Endurance is where you work with a partner to try to survive together to complete the story while maintaining a food, and a warm temperature and if you die thats it. You have to scavenge for supplies and you only have 1 weapon, a recursive bow. Score attack is where you try to complete each level of the game and perform certain feats to get a gold medal in each stage. Then zombies that takes place in the Croft Mansion with a story

There was also a Blood Mansion story DLC which takes place in Croft Mansion. It has no combat, but gives more backstory about Lara's childhood and what happened to her parents.

I'm playing through it right now, probably around 70% done.

It's pretty average. Lara is a terribly boring character, so I don't really care about the story. Shooting is okay.

Not a lot to say about it. It's just really fucking average.
