I just got a beta invite. Is it worth trying out? I'm on the fence.

I like the game but everyone and I mean absolutely fucking everyone plays monsters. The balance is pretty fucked at the moment.

Its shaping up to be one of the best CCGs on the market. Also tries something new rather than be Magic Lite like Hearthstone and all its clones.

Just give it a try. It's not a big download.

Just started playing recently. Really good, perfectly compliments the more battle-ish CCGs (Shadowverse in my case).

It feels a lot more strategic. Less MTG and more poker.

Monsters are easy, cheap and strong.
Skellige is op as fuck
NK are in tough spot, radovid decks are fun and strong tho, my choice
Scoiatel aside from dwarf decks are pretty shit
Nilfgaard got released too early imo, looks interesting when it gets developed more, currently its unfit for competition

The most fun thing to do against enemies is to place a single unit down with a huge number such as a black archer with a 10 or seige with an 8.
The enemy then places all their strongest units as scortvh will only kill your single unit.
Use decoy to recall your unit then place scortch and laugh

It makes no sense, though. They're undermining their "DRM saviors" title by adding this stupid thing, when they could easily let you create an account on the same servers they're using and have no drm on the game.
The problem is they realized, not unlike steam in its beginnings, they need to force people to install their service with a killer game, or people won't install it, again, destroying all they've worked for.

You can have a DRM-free game connect to an account server, you don't need to enforce downloading a game library management server.

go on gwentdb and copy the highest rated deck, that might not work though because the meta is different in each mmr bracket/ranking

It's not really something that can be taught. You just get a feel for it after playing enough and learning the different decks. Also Gwent is very much a game of mind games.

It really suffers from the limited card pool though. There's like one, maximum two archetype decks per leader (that are actually viable)

I signed up as soon as it was available and got in around November in second or third wave. Ranked has some 20k people playing so at least that many have been in.

Anyways recently there was a lot of key giveaways on various sites and open beta should kick fairly soon in spring. Launch should be early summer apparently

Well that should work pretty fine. I'd prioritize Sigfrida at least, I think Restoration is 800 scraps? But both resses are always necessary for skellige. I'd maybe trade the archers completely for clan dimun pirates (for deck thinning) since you already honestly have -so-much damaging abilities.

I see. I always wondered how to play around those pirates.
I've got Sigfrida and I tried to use her but after the patch she has lose some of her utility, still a decent unit paired with the priestess.

what if I've got scorch'd or mirror'd? since is pretty likely I'll always have the strongest unit on board. also D-bomb that last round I've got stomped on the last sec by a d-bomb.
