With the Switch on the horizon, can we as a species finally agree that WiiU fans are the worst subsection of Nintendo fans (tied with N64 fans)?
They're especially defensive, basically considering you Satan if you don't think that Mario Kart 8/Smash 4/Mario 3D World are literally perfect and the best entries in their franchises or if you don't like tacked on gyro controls.
I mean, MK8 and Smash 4 are the best in their franchises.
Cameron Clark
>MK8 >best
I didn't realize that stripping out long-time favorite features and having cookie-cutter character rosters made Mario Kart games the best, do go on
David Nelson
Sonyggers would be a million times worse if they were in our position. You got off lucky with us, wait till you get the niggers.
Luke Lewis
Having new features like anti-gravity and using MK8's underwater and gliding meant that track designs got 10X better, and new versions of old tracks were updated too. The music was 10/10, design was 10/10, graphics were very impressive. MK8D brings back battle mode proper and adds in new and classic characters, name a better mario kart.
David Cox
There were a few good games in there, but the console was shit and people should get over it already.
Brayden Anderson
>new features like anti-gravity and using MK8's underwater Don't add anything to the actual function of courses.
>and gliding Not new, MK7 did it first.
>The music was 10/10 If you like shitty rock saxophones raping your ears, sure.
>graphics were very impressive To the point of dropping the framerate for 3/4 player games.
>name a better mario kart >pretending DS doesn't exist
you're adorable.
>new versions of old tracks were updated too
Rainbow Road 64 got fucking ruined, that alone is cancer.
Nolan Butler
not a wii u fan, have actually only played a wii u for 3 minutes, once, at a gamestop, two years ago - but anyway, I think Nintendo kind of missed an opportunity here by ceasing Wii U production but keeping the 3DS.
like the 3DS is old too, and feels older with a new looming portable nintendo console coming to the market. In the very least, keeping the Wii U around would allow them a cheaper budget entry if they cut the price, and it and the Switch having similar specs would mean games developed for one could be ported to the other in terms of graphical fidelity and limitations.
Like there are only a couple companies still producing 3ds games, they're japanese, they're releasing games post-Switch launch that will likely never be localized to the west, and the only reason they're doing this is cause their games had been in development before the sudden rush of Switch announcement, reveal and release info.
I mean the /best/ situation woulda just been nintendo combining both their portable and home efforts like everyone fucking thought would make sense so all their dev time focuses straight on the Switch alone, but if they really had to pick one to drop and one to keep, the Wii U being a more modern device compared to the 3DS seemed more sane.
Christian Smith
>tied with N64 fans Your asspain is astounding.
Chase Cook
pain is being a sad 90s kid in complete denial that pretty much everything done then was done better a generation later
Jack Howard
The best choice for the WiiU being a "budget" option (essentially, no Gamepad) got fucking ruined by Nintendo's continuing insistence on forcing in bullshit gimmicks, since many of their games depend on Gamepad gimmicks to be decently playable (or functional at all).
Xavier Barnes
I bought it originally for smash bros. Its not the best console I've ever had, and it sucks ass not having the kind of games you see going for PS4 and PC. It was fun for like half a year and now the only time it gets use is when I have friends over who want to play smash bros. I regret buying it but at least it wasn't a total waste.
Isaiah Watson
I think we can all agree that OP is a faggot.
Brandon Campbell
>Rainbow Road 64 got fucking ruined, that alone is cancer. Man, I thought you meant the other Rainbow Road song at first, sure, it's terrible with the obnoxious electric guitar. But the N64 remake? wtf, it's even better than the original. Feels like there is more at stake and it still manages to give me nostalgia like the original did. Except it's just better now.
The trailer it first debuted with still gives me goosebumps.
Juan Nguyen
>4 >better than Melee Not from a competetive nor from a fun standpoint.
Luis Martin
The Switch audience is looking worse.
Alexander Nguyen
Glad I don't have aspergers and autism and need a game to be competitive to have fun.
Nolan Diaz
I like Mario Kart 8, but I agree that 3D World fags are fucking cancerous.
Thomas Scott
Melee is boring, no fun allowed.
N64 Smash was more fun. Only thing keeping Brawl from being better than melee was the stupid trip mechanic. Melee took itself way too seriously too, so the fights weren't nearly as hilarious or crazy as N64 Smash.
Competitive Smash was a mistake. Greedy bastards couldn't even give up a seat at EVO, no you had to have two of your games in the spotlight for no reason.
Luke Long
/r/ someone post the screen caps when Wii U fanboys kept saying Mario Kart would "save" Wii U and Wii U would beat PS4 and Xbone sales.
Joshua Bailey
...
Benjamin Stewart
I.. I liked donkey Kong and pikmin
Samuel Bell
>since many of their games depend on Gamepad gimmicks to be decently playable (or functional at all). So there's Kirby, Nintendoland, Star Fox, Game and Wario That's about it.
Luke Green
>MK8 Fuck off
Michael Martinez
Then someone post the images of when Sony fans said Splatoon wouldn't sell over 400k
Gabriel Watson
Xenoblade X requires the gamepad 3D World requires it for those levels where you have to tap blocks
Levi Hill
wii U's gamepad basically meant it was a much more powerful, non-portable 3DS. Gamepad was never a problem from a functional or cost standpoint, it's not like the pad itself had a bunch of rendering junk for the games themselves. Games could easily be developed to make minimal use of it to easily allow off-TV play - so it could best be used per option of the developer.
seriously there's zero reason to keep the 3ds around. it had the guts to be a powerful console but like no one ever tried to push real quality console games aside from Capcom and Square Enix so it was wasted potential - even with the fuck-up that was the New3DS that had a grand total of 2 fucking games for it and a small handful of games that could benefit from it.
