>Subtitle will be Forge of Hope >Will not allow character transference >Will be released on PC, PS4 and Xone >Bungie plans to release content every one to two months like Overwatch “while also delivering new narrative paths and new game play mechanics. >The sequel will heavily focus on chronological events set after the Fall 2015 Expansion The Taken King
Destiny is bad and Bungie should ritually committed suicide for releasing it.
Oliver Diaz
Sounds good. Believe it or not I still have some faith in Bungie. I loved Destiny but it had a lot of shortcomings, and Bungie has made it clear they know that. I'm optimistic.
Brandon Perez
Maybe they could flesh out the enemies like they did with the Covenant instead of having us fight generic evil guys.
Ayden Richardson
Variks was a good first step
Levi Edwards
NuBungie is shit and I have no faith in them making Destiny 2 good, as they know they can make a shit ton of money with little effort. I just want my Marathon 4 I was promised with their contract with Activision
Samuel King
>will not allow character transfer Thanks Bungie my years of play really meant something huh? >tfw your character lorewise has done more than in a couple years then the vanguard has done in their lives and probably will never be referenced in Destiny 2.
Landon White
>Bungie employee spotted.
Jacob Nelson
I reckon Borderlands 3 will come out in time to compete it.
At the end of 2 it was heavily implied that it would be multi-world.
Sebastian Carter
No fucking thanks.
Destiny is a shit game that's too scared to take the MMO plunge, so its just with this shitty 3 player mission style.
Caleb Gomez
They already did when they went to Activision. They didnt stand a chance making their own game in this world.
Brody Brooks
Seeing how the new gun patch is gonna be. The PVP will be as busted as ever.
Skorris is cancer.
Easton Collins
>>tfw your character lorewise has done more than in a couple years then the vanguard has done in their lives That's actually a bad thing. Keep in mind in just a year of the game being out your character has >Killed the black heart (whatever it was, never actually got an explanation and light 'never returned to the traveler') >Killed Crota, one of the most powerful entities in the solar system >Killed Oryx, the most powerful God of the Hive Pantheon, even stronger than the Worm Gods whom commute directly with 'the darkness'. Possibly most powerful entitiy in the Galaxy This is a bad thing. When you kill off your most powerful opponent easily in a years time, what this says is basically nothing is actually a threat, and in order to create something that feels epic, you have to powercreep the enemies to hell. I know Oryx's sisters will return stronger than Oryx, again, this is power creep and isn't good. It's a sign of weak story telling when you have to keep introducing stronger opponents than previously established.
Michael Richardson
Unless they decide to make us play something other than guardians, or weaker, guardians.
I highly doubt it.
Justin Lopez
You forgot >Restarted the Iron Lords But yeah I get what you're saying. That is definitely weak story telling. My only problem is that our character will not get recognized for his exploits. I bet you The Slayer of Oryx is never mentioned again in the lore.
Adrian Sullivan
The fact that they don't have to make the game available on previous console generations, it's being released on pc, and if they focus on pve content then I am upgrading myself from cautious optimistic to slightly hype. The gunplay in Destiny is top tier, even with a controller, it'll feel like sex on a M+KB.
Also the Taken King was the best the game had ever been, if they use that as a jumping off point content wise, that's a good sign.
Lincoln Reyes
>Bungie plans to release content every one to two months like Overwatch “while also delivering new narrative paths and new game play mechanics. >while also delivering new narrative paths and new game play mechanics That is basically Warframe's "pile features upon features" philosophy to game design. Not that it is necessarily bad but it will generate concern about whether they can make these regular updates meaningful beyond just its own small slice of the game's content.
Still, if it is for PC and they can get their basic gameplay down I think I could enjoy it. Did not like having to miss out on the original game's progression because I don't own any consoles, so now even if I were to get a PS4 a lot of the older content would be out of date and largely ignored by the existing playerbase.
Daniel Johnson
We killed the most powerful Hive God in existence within the first major expansion, at this point it's basically set in stone that nothing in the universe can fuck with Guardians because they're the good guys and they always win because power of friendship and love. It's lazy storytelling on par with Clifford the Big Red Dog. But it doesn't matter because in Destiny 2 it will just be >Uh oh, there's an even stronger Hive/Vex entity that wants to fuck with us now! >Oh nevermind, Guardians are OP and we can't lose lol
Matthew Butler
If Bungie is smart they'll probably restart the story, or do what Blizzard did with WoD and just pretend like it didnt happen.
Lucas Hernandez
There are still the worm gods though Oryx was only able to kill one and that's only after he stole his sisters' power (which he later lost to resurrect them). And there are at least several others on the Fundament.
Besides, it was already established that the Traveler was the one thing Oryx feared, since it was the only entity that could fuck with his home world and the only entity that threatened his sword logic
Josiah Anderson
Welll with the way Bungie has been going about their updates I'm sure they'll fuck it up. They're really good at that.
Camden Wilson
>Bungie made ANOTHER engine That's probably another half a billion dollars down the drain. On the other hand, Activision really pays these people everything they need.
That's admirable and all but seriously, this publisher could release ten original games evefy year and even if they'd all flop it still wouldn't hurt their bottom line.
People obviously start impersonating him towards the end of the thread but a lot of what he said seems credible.
Tyler Collins
I want to believe those leaks so bad. Only time will tell.
Camden Long
I had loads of fun playing this with my friends. I hope they at least let me transfer my shaders and emblems
Leo Powell
Playing as a Fallen would be the ONLY thing that would revive my faith in Bungie, as i loved playing as Elite in Halo. Sadly, I don't trust this leak. Seems like they're trying too hard to do what we'd think Bungie would do.
Matthew Jenkins
>Protagonist from first game "disappeared" on a mission to Europa So they're going the Bethesda route huh? >"Oh the Nerevarine? Your character from the last game who is literally Jesus? Oh he's on a sick rooaaaddd trrriiippppp to Akavir! You'll never see him again!" Why is this allowed?
Dominic Bell
Some of that seems so believable too.
Aiden Martin
>Restarted the Iron Lords That pack of failures led by the biggest failure of them?
Anthony Miller
Well hey, we as the new Iron Lords fixed it all Then put on paper masks of his dead fuckbuddy and made fun of it
Ayden Wilson
Wait so it says there in one of his early posts that the original Destiny will be packaged along with the sequel in the PC release. I wonder how that is going to work for content because there would genuinely be droves of people who have never played the game that will be playing it from scratch.
Bentley Thompson
It's great how that is canon.
Nathan Price
I know it's annoying user, but the disappearance route is really the only way to deal with overpowered protags from previous games.
Wyatt Gutierrez
was it the Traveler or the Guardians themselves? cause when the Vex queen fired up her sims, she could never find a way to beat him even tho the Vex are cannonically tied for strongest in the universe. So she left it up to the guardians to take care of him so she could come in and clean up the mess
Mason Kelly
All the funniest shit is canon
Blind Legion I Cohort/Century 3/Maniple 3 5 Squad [HEAVY INF] TASK: - defend Psion intelligence ops 071x146 OUTCOME: - overwhelmed by Guardian fireteam/Vex pressure. few survivors. survivors reported Guardians foraging for equipment, dancing, and performing acrobatics with light vehicles.
>Guardians dancing on sparrows is canon >this makes the enemies we fight even more terrified of us as we see death as a joke
Jose Hernandez
All they have to do to make this game good is
>no poop level design like the first >Some sort of advanced moment that speeds up the game >you use weapons and armor provided in the PvP, no loadout shit >no supers/dumb ass skills in PvP
I fix'd it for you Bungie, now do it
Jeremiah Jenkins
Dust Giant IV Cohort/Century 4/Maniple 1 Harvester Dropship [TAC AIR] TASK: - support IV/4/1/4 operations in 071x145 OUTCOME: - dropship shot down. crew reported Guardians operating elaborate totem rocket weapons.
GJALLARHORN BABY
Jose Ortiz
>The sequel will heavily focus on chronological events set after the Fall 2015 Expansion The Taken King
I HOPE YOU BOUGHT THE SUPER ULTRA MIX + MY GOOD GOY
Thomas Brooks
Will PC ever get the first Destiny? Seems pretty dumb only to release its sequel on pc but not its prequel.
Logan Rogers
You didn't miss much.
Luis Murphy
There was a bungie employee the other day here on Sup Forums suggested that destiny 1 might come to pc as "the complete edition" it will be combined into one launcher with destiny 1 and 2. And it will be releasing at Christmas this year.
They couldn't put it on PC before cause of the Sony contract but apparently its expiring this year. So no more exclusive shit for PS4 all platforms will be on equal footing. Unless Microsoft tries to buy back bungies loyality.
Adam Phillips
It goes against my religion to play the second game in a series without ever playing the first.
Jordan Allen
With all these rumors recently. The bungie employee, now this. Could we get a pre-e3 reveal?
I doubt it had anything to do with Sony exclusivity (surely Sony would be more concerned with keeping the game away from Xbox than PC)
The lack of a PC version was probably due to work load. Destiny came out on PS3, 360, PS4 and Xbox One. Prior to that Bungie had been used to only working on one platform exclusively.
David Rodriguez
Sounds decent I just hope the raid (maybe raids) is up to standard but I would like them to add more mechanics.
Nathaniel Brown
>343 employee spotted
Matthew Watson
Activision has an investors call today. The game will probably have to be officially acknowledged as it will obviously play a significant part in Activision's earnings.
Isaiah Campbell
I like the idea of a FPS MMOish game, something Borderlands should have done, but I just don't have any interest in using my controller to play such a game. I like the artstyle and all that but the controls really put me off from bothering with it.
If it is multiplat then maybe, we'll see if Borderlands does anything before then. The end of 2 implied the next one could be a MMO but that obviously hasn't happened yet.
Jacob Ross
Cabals never got enough love. I still want to see more of them.
